A questionnaire was used to survey the organization and services of more 89 university libraries in Iran. User satisfaction was also surveyed. The results paint a picture of the financial support, administrative structure, services offered, and opinions of users in universities across the country.

The security and prevention of crimes in academic libraries have always been major concerns to the librarians of these libraries. Attempts of many authors to suggest solutions to these disturbing issues have not yielded the required solution. The study was carried out to compare the research output of academics in science and engineering faculties in southern Nigeria using bibliometric analysis. Descriptive survey method was used for the study. Through stratified random sampling six federal universities were selected out of 13 for the study. Two hundred and ninety-one academic staff with the rank of lecturer II and above were used for the study. Conflict in simple terms, means a state of disagreement, controversy or opposition. It could also mean the existence of a prolonged battle, struggle or clash between two or more parties. Obegi and Nyamboga (2008), quoting Nicholas (1992) described conflict as situations where two people (or groups) wish to carry out acts which are mutually incompatible. This paper focuses on the obstacles to development information provision and use in rural communities in Nigeria, where the impact of the oral tradition remains very strong. A review of the Nigerian rural community and its rural information environment is made. Requirements for development process in rural communities are taken into account. The study investigated the relationship between library instruction programme components and students' catalogue use in colleges of education libraries. The study addressed the issue of students' inability to use catalogue to retrieve materials within the libraries. Four objectives guided the study with four null hypotheses tested. Survey research deign was used for the study. The population was 2,560 NCE III students chosen from four colleges of education in south-western Nigeria. The article investigated the use of serial publications in Adeyemi College of Education Library, Ondo, by the academic staff of the School of Arts and Social Sciences. Questionnaire was the main instrument of collecting data from the respondents. Also, complete enumeration sampling method was used. Out of the 49 questionnaires administered, 30 (61.2%) were returned and found useful for analysis. The study found that 20(66.7%) used the serial section of the Library while 10 (33.3%) did not. Abstract This study investigates the role of auditors in the detection, prevention and reporting of fraud. Data were obtained from 184 respondents in Nigeria. The findings revealed that the respondents are very concerned about the problem of fraud. In addition, the respondents placed very high expectation on auditors’ duties on fraud prevention and detection. This perception is in contrast with the stated primary objective of an audit, as stipulated in ISA 200, which merely required auditors to form an opinion on the financial statements, but not of fraud detection. This study compared the effects of captioned video instruction and face-to-face instruction on library use instruction of secondary school students with hearing impairment. This study adopted the quasi-experimental pre-test, post -test control group design. This study employed two treatment groups comprising captioned video instruction group and face to face instruction group as well as a control group. Two research instruments, Library Use Instruction Test and Library Practical Use Checklist were used as data collection tools. The study concluded that both instructional strategies are effective in giving library instructions to persons with hearing impairment

The Role Of Effective Communication In Enhancement Of Library Services: An Overview Of Delta State University Library, Abraka, Daniel Emojorho

This study evaluated the effectiveness of communication in enhancement of library services at Delta State University, Abraka, Nigeria. An ex-post-facto descriptive research design was adopted. A questionnaire was used to collect data, and frequency distribution and percentages were used to analyze it. The findings revealed that effective communication enhanced library services. There was a contrary view on the use of oral communication. While library staff applauded the use of oral communication in library operations, most users said it does not encourage research. The low level of ICT usage was also observed. As a result of these findings, recommendations were made.

This study investigated the influence of farmers’ personal and socio-economic characteristics on their use of agricultural information provided by the Imo State Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), Nigeria. An ex-post facto research design was used for the study. Stratified proportionate sampling technique was used to select a sample of 1,032 out of a total of 6,300 farmers across the existing 34 farm blocks and 63 farm cells in the three ADP zones of the state. In an article investigating how librarians are depicted in the mass media, Maura Seale identifies five categories into which the majority of representations fall: the old maid, the policeman, the parody, the inept librarian, and the hero/ine. Geoffrey Chaucer (c. 1342 – 1400) is the great medieval inventor of words for the English language, words including “library.” He uses that term to represent a distinct spatial home that is organized with skill to find knowledge from the study of texts. A bibliophile himself, Chaucer celebrates the joys and trials of reading while overlooking the library as a substantive learning haven.
