The Economic Impact Of Bell’S Iceman Cometh Challenge 2022 Mountain Bike Race, Christian Glupker, Paul Isely

The 2022 Iceman Cometh Challenge mountain bike race is estimated to have generated or supported economic benefits for Grand Traverse County in the following ways:

• 16,569 total visitors, with 88% visiting from outside of Grand Traverse County. Over 36 states and four countries were represented.
• There were 38,047 total visitor days, with 95% coming from nonlocal visitors. These nonlocal visitors spent on average 2.5 days in the Traverse City area.
• Direct spending of all visitors was $4.7 million, with nonlocal visitors spending $4.5 million.
• The total economic impact of nonlocal visitors is estimated at $5.6 million in economic output supporting …

Time Towards Tenure Dean’S Procedures For University Libraries, Annie Bélanger

The Dean has the authority to grant time towards tenure as per BOT Policy 4.2.7 at the time of appointment. The policy allows for up to 3 years of equivalency at another academic institution. Once granted, it cannot be subsequently changed, rescinded or revoked. The ability to pause the tenure clock as granted by BOT Policy 4.2.7.2 remains available to faculty members who have been awarded time towards tenure.

This document outlines the approach that the Dean of University Libraries will use in granting time towards tenure in order to advance transparency and accountability in the granting of equivalency.

For decades, the Mary and Jeff Bell Library at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) has promoted library services across campus and provided information literacy instruction upon request. Despite these efforts, the library’s reach was not evenly distributed across subject disciplines or course levels, with over half of the instruction occurring at the first-year level. The TAMU-CC librarians knew that to help students become truly information literate, equitable instruction was needed across more disciplines and throughout all course levels.

Industrial dairy farms, also referred to as concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOS) or factory farms, are often known for the negative effects they have on the environment and animals. However, these farms are the backbone of our food systems supplying 99% of our dairy and meat in the United States. In this qualitative case study, we conduct in-depth interviews and farm transect walks with five industrial dairy farmers in Western Michigan to examine how they view and define sustainability, how they incorporate sustainable practices on their farms, and what they perceive as the barriers to industrial dairy sustainability. Nutrition Education As A Tool Of Empowerment, Claire Devries

This study investigates the nutrition education programs implemented by organizations that operate Fresh Markets in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with the goal of connecting empowered nutrition education to a food justice context. A review of scholarly literature reveals that there has been limited published work within the last three decades that integrates empowered nutrition to a food justice context. Analysis of interviews conducted with the four organizations indicates that nutrition education is used as a tool of empowerment in a food justice framework.
