การศึกษานี้เป็นการศึกษาภาคตัดขวาง ซึ่งมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเสียงจากการจราจร กับการตอบสนองของประชาชนในชุมชน เพื่อเป็นแนวทางในการกำหนดมาตรฐานเสียงรบกวนที่เกิดจากการจราจรในย่านพานิชยกรรมและที่อยู่อาศัยหนาแน่นมากในเขตเทศบาลนครหาดใหญ่ การเก็บข้อมูลใช้เครื่องตรวจวัดเลียง (Sound level meter) ยี่ห้อ NA-27 type 1 วัดระดับเสียงเฉลี่ย 15ชั่วโมง (Leq15 hr) และ ระดับเสียง percentile ที่ 10 (L10) รวม 6 จุด โดยแต่ละจุดจะวัดทั้งวันธรรมดาและวันหยุดราชการ ในช่วงระยะเวลา 07.00-22.00 น. และขณะวัดเสียงในชุมชนจะสัมภาษณ์ประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่รอบพื้นที่ศึกษาจำนวน 246 คนเกี่ยวกับลักษณะประชากรบ้านพักอาศัยความไวต่อเสียง โรคประจำตัวและโรคทางหูผดกระทบและความรำคาญจากเสียง และสุขภาพจิต ผลการศึกษาพบ ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความรำคาญกับระดับเสียงเฉลี่ย 15 ชั่วโมง เป็นแบบแปรผันตรงด้วย ค่าสัมประสิทธิสหสัมพันธ์0.8292 และจากการวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติพหุคูณพบปัจจัยเพิ่มความรำคาญได้แก่ การประกอบอาชีพลูกจ้างหรือนักเรียนนักศึกษา แหล่งเสียงภายนอกบ้าน ความคิดเห็นว่าเสียงเป็นมลภาวะระดับมากและมากที่สุด เสียงจราจรที่รบกวนการทำงานและการนอนหลับ ส่วนปัจจัยลดความรำคาญได้แก่ ลักษณะที่พักอาศัยแบบตึกแถว แต่ปัจจัยอื่นๆไม่มีผล เมื่อนำค่าความน่าจะเป็นที่ได้จากสมการปรุงปรับเพื่อลดอิทธิพลตัวแปรกวนต่างๆมาพล็อตกับระดับความรำคาญ โดยใช้แบบจำลองถดถอยเชิงเส้นอย่างง่ายพบว่า ระดับเสียงที่ทำให้คนร้อยละ 20 เกิดความรู้สึกรำคาญมีค่า 68.2 เดซิเบล

การสำรวจสภาพพื้นที่ป่าบริเวณริมฝังแม่น้ำเหือง อำเภอนาแห้ว จังหวัดเลย ซึ่งเป็นเขตรอยต่อระหว่างประเทศไทยและลาว ในพื้นที่ครอบคลุมประมาณ 24 ตารางกิโลเมตร ที่ระดับความสูงตั้งแต่ 400-1,200 เมตร พบว่าสภาพป่าส่วนใหญ่มีลักษณะเป็นป่าดิบชื้น ป่าดิบเขา และป่าเต็งรัง จากการรวบรวมตัวอย่างพรรณไม้ประมาณ 300 ตัวอย่าง พบว่ามีลักษณะเป็นพืชสมุนไพร 70 ชนิด แต่มีเพียง 15 ชนิด ที่คาดว่าน่าจะมีผลต่อการยับยังการเจริญของเชื้อก่อโรคในระบบทางเดินอาหาร เมื่อทำการสกัดแห้งสมุนไพรทั้ง 15 ชนิด และนำสารสกัดที่ได้มาทดสอบฤทธิ์ในการยับยั้งการเจริญของเชื้อแบคทีเรีย 4 ชนิด ที่ก่อให้เกิดโรคระบบทางเดินอาหารคือ Escherichia coli Shigella dysenteriae Salmonella typhosa และ Vibrio cholerae ด้วยวิธีการ disc diffusion บนอาหารเลี้ยงเชื้อ พบว่าสารสกัดจากเปลือกผลของมังคุด ด้วยน้ำกลั่นสามารถยับยั้งการเจริญของเชื้อ E. coli ได้ สารสกัดจากใบโกฏจุฬาลำพาด้วยไดเอธิล อีเธอร์สามารถยับยังการเจริญของเชื้อ ร. dysenteriae ได้ ขณะทีเชื้อ S. typhosa ถูกยับยั้งการเจริญด้วยสารสกัดจากเปลือกผลสมอพิเภก, กลีบดอกคูน หรือใบเปล้าน้อยที่ใช้ไอโซโพรพานอล 80% เป็นตัวทำละลาย แต่ไม่พบว่ามีสารสกัดจากสมุนไพรชนิดใดสามารถออกฤทธิ์ยับยั้งการเจริญของเชอ V. cholerae ได้

การมีสารคีเลตในน้ำเสียทำให้การกำจัดโลหะด้วยวิธีการตกตะกอนมีประสิทธิภาพลดลง เนื่องจากการเกิดสารประกอบเชิงซ้อนของโลหะกับสารคีเลต ซึ่งทำให้คุณสมบัติในการตกผลึกและการละลายน้ำของโลหะเปลี่ยนไปการวิจัยนี้ได้ท้าการศึกษาผลของสารคีเลตต่อการดูดซับตะกั่วจากสารละลายด้วยไคโตแซนแบบโครงร่างตาข่ายโดยการ ทดลองแบบแบตซ์และคอลัมน์ ผลการทดลองในแบตซ์พบว่า ความสามารถในการดูดซับตะกั่วด้วยไคโตแซนแบบโครงร่างตาข่ายสูงขึ้นเมื่อพีเอชสูงขึ้นในช่วงพีเอชที่ทำการศึกษา และการเพิ่มความเข้มข้นของสารละลายตะกั่วทำให้ปริมาณตะกั่วที่ถูกดูดซับต่อปริมาณไคโตแซนเพิ่มขึ้นตามไปด้วย สำหรับผลการศึกษาผลของสารคีเลต พบว่าความ สามารถในการดูดซับตะกั่วด้วยไคโตแซนแบบโครงร่างตาข่ายที่พีเอชสูงลดลงในขณะที่ความสามารถในการดูดซับตะกั่ว ที่พีเอชต่ำเพิ่มขึ้นเมื่อเดิมอีดีทีเอหรือเอ็นทีเอลงไปในน้ำเสียสังเคราะห์ ส่วนการเดิมกรดทาทาริกลงไปน้ำเสียสังเคราะห์ไม่มีผลต่อความสามารถในการดูดซับตะกั่วโดยไคโตแซนการทดลองแบบคอลัมน์พบว่าสามารถบำบัดน้ำเสียให้มีความ เข้มข้นต่ำกว่ามาตรฐานน้ำทิ้งได้ภายในปริมาตร 88.89 ปริมาตรเบด โดยมีประสิทธิภาพในการกำจัด 91.40%

การศึกษาผลของสารเคมีที่ใช้ในการกระตุ้นเพื่อเตรียมถ่านกัมมันต์จากขี้เลื่อยในครั้งนี้ สารเคมีที่ใช้คือ NaCI และ ZnCI2 โดยทำการทดลองเปลี่ยนแปลงอัตราส่วนโดยน้ำหนักของขี้เลื่อยต่อสารเคมี และอุณหภูมิที่ใช้เผากระตุ้นจากนั้น ศึกษาคุณสมปติของถ่านกัมมันต์ที่เตรียมได้ทั้งสองชนิด แล้วคัดเลือกถ่านกัมมันต์ตัวที่มีความเหมาะสมที่สุดของแต่ละชนิดนำไปทดสอบประสิทธิภาพการกำจัดตะกั่วในน้ำเสียสังเคราะห์ผลการทดลองพบว่าการเตรียมถ่านกัมมันต์สภาวะที่เหมาะ สมโดยใช้ NaCI เป็นตัวกระตุ้น คือใช้น้ำหนักของขี้เลื่อยต่อ NaCI = 1:1 และเผากระตุ้นที่ 800 °C เป็นเวลา 1 ชั่วโมง ส่วนการกระตุ้นด้วย ZnCI2 ใช้น้ำหนักของขี้เลื่อยต่อ ZnCI2 = 1 : 1 และเผากระตุ้นที่ 700 °C เป็นเวลา 1 ชั่วโมง เช่นกัน จากนั้นทำการล้างสารเคมีออกด้วยน้ำร้อนและกรดเจือจาง ถ่านกัมมันต์ที่ได้มีค่าไอโอดีนนัมเบอร์เท่ากับ 519.4 และ 1,021.3 mg/g ตามลำดับ มีค่าพื้นที่ผิวเท่ากับ 593.79 และ 1,572.51 m2/g ตามลำดับ ถ่านกัมมันต์ที่กระตุ้นด้วย NaCI มีความสามารถในการกำจัดตะกั่ว (ความเข้มข้น 10 mg/L) ที่ pH 8 เท่ากับ 9.96 mg/g ของถ่านกัมมันต์ และถ่านกัมมันต์ที่กระตุ้นด้วย ZnCI2 มีความสามารถในการกำจัดตะกั่ว (ความเข้มข้น 10 mg/L) ที่ pH 7 เท่ากับ 99.7 mg/g ของถ่านกัมมันต์ การทดลองประสิทธิภาพการกำจัดตะกั่วในน้ำเสียสังเคราะห์ด้วยถังดูดติดผิวแบบแท่งที่ระดับความลึกของถ่านกัมมันต์ 30, 60, 90 และ 120 cm พบว่าที่จุด Breakthrough สามารถกำจัดตะกั่วในน้ำเสียสังเคราะห์ความเข้มข้น 10 mg/L ได้เท่ากับ 1.21, 14.17, 186.04 และ 209.17 …

This research examines human security issues of low-income migrant workers in Singapore as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We conducted stakeholder interviews and a review of secondary data, which were deductively analysed using themes adopted from a United Nations Development Programme human security framework. The optimal conditions for laccase production and vinasse biotreatment with a native strain of Trametes villosa were determined by a screening-optimization approach. Eleven factors including nutrient concentration, vinasse dilution (%v/v), inoculum volume, carbon to nitrogen ratio and initial pH, were investigated for their effects on laccase activity applying the Plackett-Burman screening design. The selected factors were optimized using a central composite design, and then evaluated on a vinasse biotreatment experiment. The factors that contributed the most to the enzymatic activity were the concentrations of MgSO4∙7H2O (A), FeSO4∙7H2O (B) and CuSO4∙5H2O (C), alongside initial pH.  After 10 days, laccase activity was …

The physiological response in moss samples is often used as an early warning signal of environmental stress caused by air pollution. This study aimed to test the efficiency of photosynthesis-related parameters in Leucobryum aduncum moss bags as bioindicators of environmental stress related to road traffic. The moss samples were collected and prepared in a relatively unpolluted area and then transplanted at 7 sites in forested, rural, and urban areas. Microplastics can accumulate in the environment and be transferred to different trophic levels, making them a concern for the aquatic food chain. As far as the researcher is aware, this study is the first to analyze microplastics in seawater and zooplankton along the eastern coastline of Phuket, Thailand, emphasizing their ecological significance. Analysis of the seawater samples identified 256 microplastic particles, with an average concentration of 52.6±21.4 and 32.6±30.3 particles L-1 for 20–300 µm and >300 µm classes, respectively. Inhibitory effects of water-soluble fraction (WSF) of crude oil, diesel, spent engine oil, and their composite mixture on luminescent Vibrio species isolated from a tropical marine fish were assessed to determine the acute toxicity and suitability of the bacteria. This was evaluated with a slight modification of the procedure for freshly prepared luminescent marine bacteria according to the International Organization for Standardization. Toxicity was assessed following bacterial exposure to different concentrations of the WSFs. The focus of this study was to explore how various fertilizers influence the movement of cadmium in soil treated with biochar. The research utilized a strong acid sandy loam soil from Chanthaburi Province, naturally rich in organic matter with moderate cation exchange capacity and low nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, sulfate, salinity and chloride levels. The soil was purposely contaminated with 50 mg kg-1 of cadmium and treated with biochar derived from water hyacinth through pyrolysis at 450°C for an hour. The emergence of a novel coronavirus strain triggered a global health crisis, impacting both health and economies worldwide, including Thailand since 2019. While prior research hinted at connections between environmental factors and rising COVID-19 cases, these links remained inconclusive. This study investigated indoor and outdoor (I/O) ratios and explored potential correlations between fine particulate matter (PM2.5), meteorological conditions, and the case fatality rate (CFR%) of COVID-19 in Bangkok and its metropolitan area from January to December 2021. In this work, blast furnace slag was converted to hydroxyapatite-zeolite (MS) through alkaline fusion and hydrothermal treatment, and then it was used to remove cadmium in solution by adsorption in batch mode. The process was accomplished under the influence of determining parameters, namely the contact time, mass of the adsorbent, stirring speed, pH of the medium, temperature of the solution, particle size of the slag, and initial concentration. The biosorption of lead (Pb) ions on Alstonia scholaris fruit biomass was investigated in batch and column experiments in an aqueous solution, emphasising the possible binding mechanism of Pb ions on the fruit biomass. The adsorption process was found to be dependent on parameters like adsorbent dose, initial Pb ion concentration, contact time, and pH. No impact was found on Pb adsorption during competitive adsorption. The results suggested that the fruit biomass could remove more than 97% of Pb ions from the aqueous solution.
