Journal of Faith Integration Counseling (JFIC)

The inaugural issue of the Journal of Faith Integration in Counseling introduces a platform dedicated to integrating faith, religion, and spirituality into mental health practices. Clients frequently seek psychotherapy that will incorporate their unique religious or spiritual values into the therapeutic process, yet they are discouraged by practitioners who are not equipped to provide those services. Licensed mental health practitioners can receive this training and certification from the ACPE Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy Training Program. Spiritual competencies exclusive to this integrative process have been designed to guide and support SIP-certified practitioners in alignment with other professional ethical codes. The use of Open Educational Resources (OER) is becoming increasingly widespread in higher education institutions as the ease of use, equitable access, and the cost-free availability makes OER a viable option for classroom materials. Incorporating OER into the curriculum can be both beneficial and challenging for faculty. Because librarians are skilled and efficient in finding adequate resources to supplement learning, they prove to be an asset when striving to implement an OER initiative in the institution. Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This qualitative phenomenological study explored the experiences of Asian and Asian American women administrators’ career paths in U.S. higher education. The research fills a gap in the literature regarding the careers of Asian and Asian American women administrators. The recruitment process was completed between May 13 and July 9, 2024. Recruitment emails were sent to 25 potentially qualified participants, including a network of 17 people made up of mentors, professors, and colleagues, as well as eight professional associations and LinkedIn. The participants were six Asian and Asian American biologically female administrators at U.S. colleges and universities. These participants currently hold …

Since its foundation in 1971, EFMD has maintained a resolute and firm belief in socially responsible management education. Over that period, European management educators have formed sound, balanced, and generally collaborative relationships with business, government, and civil society stakeholders who are often the providers of core funding for their universities and business schools. This worthwhile cooperation promotes greater social understanding, cultural progress, and improved levels of social and economic inclusion in society. This article sets the scene for EFMD’s view and principles for change in business schools aimed at improving quality and effectiveness.

The increasing trend of higher education has led to a desire for higher quality education among migrant students. Migrant students typically face a variety of challenges from the moment they leave home, including the need to adapt to both new cultures and norms, as well as new educational experiences. The purpose of this study is to examine the adjustment factors of migrant students in Indonesia by synthesizing findings from relevant studies. The method used is meta-analysis, this analysis explores the multifaceted relationship between various factors and the adjustment process of migrant students in the context of higher education in Indonesia. …

The Journal of Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Purpose: This paper aims to present a strategic overview of the restructuring of the CEPT repository structure, maintaining and upgrading its software for continuous access improved services.

Method: The process of restructuring and upgrading CEPT University Library's repository to DSpace 7 involved identifying the need for technical proficiency, establishing a new server, configuring the repository, migrating existing data while preparing metadata. Furthermore, data in the new storage hierarchy was restructured, and SSL integration with Shibboleth was implemented.

Result: The paper highlights the benefits and outcomes of the restructuring process, emphasizing the enhanced accessibility, discoverability, and preservation of scholarly works.

This paper aims to provide a worked application of Thought Ritual as an Indigenous data (information) analysis tool. Thought Ritual is unique in providing an Indigenous underpinning to Indigenous research and promotes the use of cultural methods to analyse collected information. This worked example explores the use of Thought Ritual and dissects the four stages of the analysis tool: (1) connection, (2) diversity, (3) interaction and (4) adaption. Uncertainty is an unavoidable part of any spatial analysis, which makes quantifying and communicating uncertainty a requirement of any spatial data science study. However, current curricula leave students understanding the importance of uncertainty and concerned about potential bias, but without an actionable framework to improve their workflows or inferences. We propose a framework rooted in Bloom’s Taxonomy for introducing these concepts to spatial data science students.

Journal of Applied Disciplines

Rates of anxiety among college students have increased significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic and have remained high (Elharake et al., 2023), placing students at risk for diminished academic performance, depression, and academic burnout (Rassaby et al., 2022). The goal of this study was to examine possible predictors of anxiety in a diverse group of undergraduate students post-pandemic, with the goal of informing future preventive intervention efforts. Maladaptive perfectionism, passive procrastination, active procrastination, cognitive flexibility, and social well-being were assessed as potential predictors of state and trait anxiety in a sample of 297 currently enrolled college students. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines include various programming needs across institutional levels. In high school settings, STEM programs are designed to encourage critical thinking and interest in STEM careers. At postsecondary institutions, STEM disciplines allow students to earn credentials to enter different career sectors. However, some STEM educators are transforming how they perceive their discipline by incorporating innovative practices into their work. Instructional materials (i.e., textbooks, lab manuals, and other ancillary materials) allow educators to diversify their teaching style.
