Type 2 diabetes mellitus is characterized as a chronic metabolic disorder resulting in hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, and relative insulin deficiency (Olokoba, et al. 2012). The process of developing Type 2 diabetes mellitus is caused by a series of complications known as defective insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity (Galicia-Garcia, et al. 2020). Defective insulin secretion is the process in which adequate insulin secretion is not met after food consumption. This alone can lead to other issues such as increases levels of glucose. According to Wang et al. (2018), handgrip strength is an indicator of overall strength and a predictor of strength outcomes. Handgrip strength reflects muscular strength as well as motor unit recruitment and coordination, and neuromuscular control. Elite and successful athletes tend to show greater handgrip strength in comparison to sub-elite and less successful counterparts (Fry et al., 2004; Cronin et al., 2017). This may be due to the sport-specific nature of neuromuscular adaptations (Shields et al., 1999). A Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a way to analyze movement patterns and observe mobility and stability deficits. The FMS test consists of a deep squat, hurdle step, incline lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight-leg raise, trunk stability, and rotary stability movement patterns. According to Franchini et al. (2018) absolute handgrip strength (HGS) increases within different weight classifications, whereas higher relative strength has been seen in light weight categories. The purpose of this study is to discover the extent to which lean muscle mass (LMM), fat free mass (FFM), age, and height correlate to HGS in student-athletes compared to non-student-athlete males. It is hypothesized that having a higher parameter in body mass, height, and FFM will result in a higher HGS in athletes than in non-athletes. It is secondly hypothesized that an increase in age will decrease absolute handgrip strength.

The purpose of this study was to determine if increased use of depth drop in strength and conditioning programs decreases ACL rupture risk factors. Injury rates for volleyball players are 4.21 injuries per 100 hours. The knee is the second most common injury site behind the ankle. The most common knee injury for female volleyball players are ACL injuries. (Migliorini et al., 2019). Female athletes are 2-10 times more likely to sustain ACL injuries than males. Glioblastoma is reported to be the most aggressive and common brain tumor in adults (Davis, 2016). To help alleviate pain in patients with glioblastoma, floatation-REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) is proposed. Such therapy has been shown to benefit chronic tension headaches, muscle tension, and other stress-related pain conditions (Feinstein, 2018). The magnesium and sulfate components of Epsom salt combined with controlled warm water allow the muscles and joints to relax. Lower extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a cardiovascular condition caused by narrowed or blocked arteries supplying blood to the legs. Leg pain and myopathy significantly impair gait from the first step. Using AFO may assist the gait and prolong the distance patients with PAD can walk. This study aimed to investigate the effect of AFO on the gait biomechanics of patients with PAD. Postural instability in Parkinson’s disease (PD) is associated with several downstream consequences that ultimately lead to a greater risk of falling. Among the prominent downstream consequences is fear of falling (FOF), which is both common and problematic in PD. It can lead to a vicious cycle of FOF avoidance behavior that results in more sedentary behavior, physical deconditioning, and weakening of already impaired balance systems. This, in turn, may make the person with PD more susceptible to a future fall even with benign daily tasks. Stochastic resonance has been successfully used to improve human movement when using subthreshold vibration. Recent work has shown promise in improving mobility in individuals with unilateral lower limb amputations. Furthering this work, we present an investigation of two different signal structures in the use of stochastic resonance to improve mobility in individuals with unilateral lower limb amputations. Cutaneous somatosensation and standing balance measures using spatial and temporal analysis were assessed. Self-efficacy is an individual’s belief in their own capacity to express behaviors necessary to attain specific performance goals. This study aimed to develop cross-culturally adapted Myanmar versions of the Oswestry Disability Questionnaire (M-ODQ) and Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (M-RMDQ), and determine their psychometric properties in individuals with low back pain (LBP). In accordance with the previous guidelines, the original ODQ and RMDQ were translated and cross-culturally adapted into a Myanmar language. The psychometric evaluation of the adapted M-ODQ and M-RMDQ were conducted on 102 individuals with LBP for assessing reliability, validity, and responsiveness. Impairment of attention is common after stroke; is a defining characteristic of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); and has been shown to correlate significantly with difficulties in daily life for individuals with these conditions. More research is needed to establish effective interventions addressing impaired attention in such cases. Meditation is not a standard-of-care intervention for this purpose but may have therapeutic potential. Meditation has been broadly defined as an activity which has self-regulation of attention as its main aim. In other words, it can be considered a training of attention. Chronic pain is a significant and widely prevalent health condition which requires comprehensive care to address the many facets contributing to symptomatology. In 2016, 20% of American adults (about 50 million) reported experiencing chronic pain, of which 7.4% indicated that chronic pain frequently limited their life and participation in activities within the past 3 months (CDC, 2018). As a result, many individuals with chronic pain turn to opioid-based medication for pain relief, but long-term use of opioids actually increases pain sensation (Tobin, 2019). Context: Anxiety plays an important role in the management of chronic pain. The Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System Short Form v1.0 – Anxiety 8a (PROMIS SF v1.0 - Anxiety 8a) and the Pain Anxiety Symptoms Scale-20 (PASS-20) have been developed for assessing general anxiety and pain-specific anxiety, respectively.Objective: To cross-culturally adapt the PROMIS SF v1.0 - Anxiety 8a and PASS-20 into Thai versions (T-PROMIS-Anx8a and T-PASS-20, respectively) and evaluate their psychometric properties in individuals with chronic low back pain (CLBP).Methods: The adaptations were performed using the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy (FACIT) translation guidelines. Background: Foot orthoses and lower extremity exercises have been widely recommended to improve medial longitudinal arch (MLA) height in adults with flexible flatfoot. However, there is little evidence to guide the choice between foot orthoses or lower extremity exercises. Objectives: This study comprised two separate studies. Study 1 aimed to establish the more effective exercise protocol by comparing the MLA height in groups performing foot exercises with and without gluteus medius (GMed) muscle strengthening exercise. Sit to stand (STS) is the basic mobility related to the quality of life. Older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) have a movement pattern change in motor function.
