This review of literature examines the role of resistance training as an effective intervention for modifying risk factors associated with cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. Evidence from clinical and exercise interventions indicates that resistance training improves glycemic control by increasing lean muscle mass, enhancing insulin sensitivity, and facilitating greater glucose uptake in individuals with diabetes. In addition, resistance training has been shown to reduce resting blood pressure, improve lipid profiles, enhance vascular function, and decrease fat mass. Collectively, these physiological adaptations contribute to lowering the development and progression of cardiovascular disease across various populations. Communication impairments are common, multifaceted, and progressive symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD), and have deleterious impacts on individual wellbeing. Self-awareness of communication impairments and the rate and extent of decline in speech skills vary substantially across individuals and are challenging to predict. To address these, we aimed to (1) evaluate associations between non-motor symptoms (NMS) and speech impairment at year seven and (2) compare the progression of self-perceived and examiner-rated speech impairment ratings scores across a seven-year follow-up period.

This quality improvement (QI) project aimed to adopt a patient-centered, comfort-focused approach to wound care at the DNP project site and improve patient outcomes by increasing nursing staff's knowledge of evidence-based wound treatment strategies by 20%.

Curative treatments involving aggressive methods do not align with hospice principles. Residents at the project site experience increased suffering at the end of life because of limited nursing knowledge of evidence-based, atraumatic wound care practices for end-of-life patients.

Objective: This quality improvement project was implemented in an urban community health clinic primarily serving low-income and Latinx patients. Factors such as demographics, socioeconomic status, health, and transportation contribute to low U.S. influenza vaccination rates (Chen et al., 2020), while EHR training can improve provider satisfaction and efficiency (DiAngi et al., 2019). This microsystem faced inconsistent workflow processes, limited EHR training, and documentation errors that contributed to low staff satisfaction rates and influenza vaccination rates. Abstract: Background Although pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is prioritised for men at heightened risk of HIV, examining the determinants of PrEP awareness and acceptability among men in the general population is essential for informing inclusive and effective HIV prevention strategies in Kenya.

Methods: We analyzed secondary data from the 2022 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (KDHS), which comprised 14,402 men aged 18–54 years who were selected using a two-stage stratified sampling. Data were analysed using univariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses using SPSS (version 29).

This Evidence-Based Practice project proposes the implementation of a diabetes education and prevention protocol in school systems to address the rising prevalence of diabetes among students. The initiative includes mandatory pre-academic year training for school staff to improve recognition and response to diabetes related emergencies. To support school nurses, often the sole healthcare provider on campus; a mobile app will be introduced to alert personnel during emergencies and provide evidence-based intervention steps. This approach aims to enhance student safety, improve health outcomes, and ensure timely, coordinated care.

Background: A healthy, 39-year-old male patient presented with sudden onset, painless vision loss of the right eye’s superior visual field two months after a mild case of COVID-19.

Case Report: The patient was diagnosed with an acute branch retinal artery occlusion and referred to the emergency department for prompt evaluation. When the emergency workup was unremarkable the patient was referred to cardiology and hematology and follow up with a retinal specialist. The exhaustive systemic work-up was unremarkable other than recent COVID-19. Retinal perfusion to the affected area resumed in the weeks after the incident but irreversible vision loss occurred.

Background: Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States. The tools available to treat glaucoma via intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction include pharmacological therapy or surgical intervention.

Case Report: This case study explores these tools in the context of glaucoma in active-duty military personnel. It involves an active-duty army patient diagnosed with early Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG) who was initially prescribed IOP-lowering medication. In 2019, the completeness rate of medical resume documentation at Pesawaran Regional General Hospital was only 37.4%. This study aimed to identify factors influencing the completeness of medical resume documentation by doctors through a quantitative, cross-sectional design involving 37 inpatient care doctors. Data were collected via questionnaires and direct observation, then analyzed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-Square), and multivariate (Logistic Regression) methods.
