BACKGROUND: Research has the potential to influence US social policy; however, existing research in this area lacks a coherent message. The Model for Dissemination of Research provides a framework through which to synthesize lessons learned from research to date on the process of translating research to US policymakers.

METHODS: The peer-reviewed and grey literature was systematically reviewed to understand common strategies for disseminating social policy research to policymakers in the United States. Background: EATL is very rare and accounts for less than 1 percent of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas. EATL occurs most commonly in patients with celiac disease and carries a uniformly poor prognosis. The optimal treatment for EATL is unclear and the data is limited to case reports and small retrospective studies.

Methods: ICD-O-3 (9717) histological code was used to identify cases of EATL from the population-based cancer registries of the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results program (SEER) between 2006 and 2016. Frequency, demographics, and survival data were assessed using SPSS statistical software.

Each year an estimated 50,000 to 100,000 women worldwide are affected by obstetric fistula. This devastating but preventable maternal morbidity leaves women incontinent, stigmatized, isolated, and often with a still birth. While fistula rates in Ethiopia have declined in recent years, estimates range from 7 to 40 percent of women suffer from persistent urinary incontinence after successful closure of their fistula. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES: Walking school bus programs increase children's physical activity through active travel to school; however, research to inform large-scale implementation of such programs is limited. We investigated contextual factors, implementation outcomes, and student outcomes in existing walking school bus programs in the United States and internationally.

INTERVENTION APPROACH: Walking school bus programs involve a group of children walking to school together with an adult leader. On the trip to school, these adults provide social support, address potential traffic and interpersonal safety, and serve as role models to the children while children increase their physical activity levels.

Canonical correlation analysis (CCA) has become a key tool for population neuroimaging, allowing investigation of associations between many imaging and non-imaging measurements. As age, sex and other variables are often a source of variability not of direct interest, previous work has used CCA on residuals from a model that removes these effects, then proceeded directly to permutation inference. We show that a simple permutation test, as typically used to identify significant modes of shared variation on such data adjusted for nuisance variables, produces inflated error rates. At the turn of the last century, Shōma Morita, MD (1874-1938), observed the ways thriving habitats revitalize and sustain humans, other mammals, birds, insects, fish, trees, fungi, and other life. Compatibly, Morita progressed his theory of peripheral consciousness (mushojūshin), which informed his therapeutic ecological habitat and methods. In Morita’s era, scholars and clinicians mulled over diverse hypotheses on consciousness and how consciousness theories (or lack of a theory) influence therapy and places of delivery. BACKGROUND: Clusters of COVID-19 cases amplify the pandemic and are critical targets for intervention, but comprehensive cluster‐level data are not collected systematically by federal or most state public health entities. This analysis characterizes COVID-19 clusters among vulnerable populations housed in congregate living settings across an entire community and describes early mitigation efforts. We hypothesized that a joint analysis of cancer risk-associated single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and somatic mutations in tumor samples can predict functional and potentially causal SNPs from GWASs. We used mutations reported in the Catalog of Somatic Mutations in Cancer (COSMIC). Confirmed somatic mutations were subdivided into two groups: (1) mutations reported as SNPs, which we call mutational/SNPs and (2) somatic mutations that are not reported as SNPs, which we call mutational/noSNPs. Background: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common eyelid malignancy, accounting for approximately 90% of malignant eyelid lesions.¹ Despite its high occurrence rates, it is frequently misdiagnosed as one of the benign “lumps and bumps” that can be present on the eyelid. Background: Traditionally, eyecare providers employ a wait-and-see approach with respect to older patients presenting with a presumed vasculopathic isolated sixth nerve palsy. However, given review of recent literature and the potential of morbidity in these patients, acute neuroimaging should be strongly considered. Eyecare providers are often faced with challenging decisions when patients present with acute isolated oculomotor nerve palsies. This case highlights the diagnostic dilemma of an older patient with significant vasculopathic risk factors who presents with an isolated sixth nerve palsy. Background: Congenital optic disc pits (ODP) are a rare clinical finding affecting approximately 1 in 11,000 people. Affected individuals are generally asymptomatic unless fluid accumulates in the macula resulting in severe vision loss. The management of ODPs depends mostly on clinical findings and can range from observation to surgery. Optometrists need to be aware of clinical presentations and possible complications of ODPs.

Case Report: This report will review a case of an asymptomatic optic disc pit and discuss the potential treatment options if complications arise.

Background: Sjogren’s syndrome is a chronic, systemic autoimmune disorder, which often results in significant ocular surface disease. Dry eye associated with Sjogren’s syndrome is a multifactorial disease which leads to decreased function of the lacrimal glands and altered tear composition. There currently are numerous anti-inflammatory methods used for treatment of this disease.

Case Report: This case report will focus on the use of amniotic membrane placement and autologous serum tears to facilitate a successful scleral contact lens fit allowing for reduced ocular inflammation and discomfort associated with Keratoconjunctivitis sicca due to Sjogren’s syndrome.

BACKGROUND: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a minimally invasive procedure that is considered a good alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement (sAVR) in selected patients. Our aim is to determine the baseline, procedural characteristics and one-year clinical outcomes of our TAVI registry.

METHODS: This study is a retrospective observational analysis of a prospectively designed cohort comprising 81 consecutive patients treated at Mohammed bin Khalifa Cardiac Centre (MKCC) who were enrolled in Bahrain TAVI registry from February 2014 to February 2019. The clinical endpoints were defined according to the updated Valve Academic Research Consortium-2 (VARC-2) consensus document.
