วัตถุประสงค์ การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของวัสดุเคลือบหลุมร่องฟันกลาสไอโอโนเมอร์ต่อปริมาณ ฟลูออไรด์และระดับปริมาณเชื้อมิวแทนส์ สเตรปโตคอคไค ในคราบจุลินทรีย์ ในฟันกรามล่างแท้ที่กําลังขึ้น วัสดุและวิธีการ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ฟันกรามล่างแท้ซี่ที่สองที่ขึ้นสู่ช่องปากเพียงบางส่วน จํานวน 45 4 ของเด็กอายุ 10 – 13 ปี ที่มีความเสี่ยงสูงในการเกิดฟันผุ ได้รับการเคลือบหลุมร่องฟันด้วยกลาสไอโอโนเมอร์ โดยทําการ เก็บตัวอย่างคราบจุลินทรีย์ก่อนการเคลือบหลุมร่องฟัน หลังการเคลือบหลุมร่องฟัน ในวันที่ 7 วันที่ 14 และ วันที่ 28 เพื่อวัดปริมาณฟลูออไรด์ในตัวอย่างคราบจุลินทรีย์ด้วยวิธีโมดิฟายด์ ไมโครดิฟฟิวชัน และวัดระดับปริมาณเชื้อ มิวแทนส์ สเตรปโตคอคไค ด้วยชุดตรวจสําเร็จรูปข้างเก้าอี้ เดนโตเคลาท์ เอสเอ็ม สตริป มิวแทนส์ ผลการศึกษา ปริมาณฟลูออไรด์ในคราบจุลินทรีย์หลังการเคลือบหลุมร่องฟันด้วยกลาสไอโอโนเมอร์สูงกว่าก่อน การเคลือบหลุมร่องฟันอย่างมีนัยสําคัญ (p < 0.05) โดยพบว่าปริมาณฟลูออไรต์ในวันที่ 7 มีค่าสูงสุดแล้วค่อย ๆ ลดลงตามลําดับ และมีการลดลงของระดับปริมาณเชื้อมิวแทนส์ สเตรปโตคอคไค หลังการเคลือบหลุมร่องฟันเมื่อ เปรียบเทียบกับก่อนการเคลือบหลุมร่องฟัน (p < 0.0001) สรุป การเคลือบหลุมร่องฟันในฟันกรามล่างแท้ซี่ที่สองที่ขึ้นสู่ช่องปากเพียงบางส่วนด้วยกลาสไอโอโนเมอร์ ทําให้ มีการเพิ่มขึ้นของปริมาณฟลูออไรด์และลดลงของระดับปริมาณเชื้อมิวแทนส์ สเตรปโตคอคไค ในคราบจุลินทรีย์อย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (ว ทันต จุฬาฯ 2553;33:31-40)

Effect Of Unilateral Hearing Loss On The Speech-Evoked Auditory Brainstem Response In The Presence Of Noise, Kristin Elizabeth Musser

Speech-evoked auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) were acquired in quiet and in the presence of noise at two study sessions to investigate 1) test-retest variability and 2) subcortical representation of speech stimuli. Participants were adults with normal hearing in both ears who listened monaurally and adults with unilateral deafness. Results indicate consistency in responses across sessions and several differences between hearing groups for magnitudes of discrete components.

The Trade-related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) Agreement went into effect for World Trade Organization (WTO) members in 1995. The agreement defines minimum standards of patent protection that must eventually be observed by all signatories. TRIPS includes "compulsory licensing", a policy that allows for states under certain conditions to permit the use of a patented innovation without the consent of the patent holder. The present study attempted to determine the relationship between exposure to traumatic experiences of hospitalized children and adolescents and the development of secondary traumatic stress, also known as compassion fatigue, vicarious traumatization, or burnout in clinical staff working with such patients. OBJECTIVE:

To determine the impact of the 2005 American Heart Association cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) guidelines, including use of an impedance threshold device (ITD), on survival after in-hospital cardiac arrest.

METHODS:

Two community hospitals that tracked outcomes after in-hospital cardiac arrest pooled and compared their hospital discharge rate before and after implementing the 2005 American Heart Association CPR guidelines (including ITD) in standardized protocols. In CPR we used the proper ventilation rate, allowed full chest-wall recoil, conducted continuous CPR following intubation, and used an ITD. Genicular collateral arterial circulation is required for perfusion of the lower leg should the superficial femoral artery (SFA) become obstructed by trauma or disease. When describing the anatomy, textbooks only provide a schematic representation of the genicular collateral circulation and suggest that the descending branch of the lateral circumflex artery (DBLCFA) plays a critical role. The DBLCFA may be removed for bypass and reconstructive surgeries; therefore, a sound anatomical description of this artery is essential. The notion that the default telecoil (t-coil) frequency response should match the programmed microphone frequency response to provide optimal telephone understanding for hearing aid patients has received little attention.
