This article details an application of Roy’s Adaptation Model (RAM) in providing nursing care for patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) experiencing changes associated with required haemodialysis (HD). RAM guides the assessment of the patients’ levels of adaptation and facilitates the management of stimuli to promote their adaptation. The nursing intervention focuses on issues surrounding the adverse effects of HD treatment including physical, psychological, and social changes.

Decreased height velocity (HV), one of the clinical manifestations of hypothyroidism which is completely reversed by appropriate thyroid hormone replacement, is called catchup growth. The objective of this report is to determine the longitudinal growth of a girl with prolonged hypothyroidism due to Hashimoto's thyroiditis complicated by precocious puberty. A 9-year-and-6-month-old girl presented with vaginal bleeding, growth failure and the typical physical signs of hypothyroidism due to Hashimoto's thyroiditis. She received Eltroxin replacement. Background : We evaluated CT findings of 45 patients with cholangiocarcinomas. Objective To evaluate CT findings and pattern enhancement of cholangiocarcinoma at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH). Methods : The contrast-enhanced CT images of the abdomen of 45 patients (29 males, 16 females were retrospective reviewed. The mean age of the subject was 56 years. Background : Treatment with selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular events. Inhibition of COX-2 reduces vascular prostacyclin synthesis without disrupting COX-1-derived thromboxane synthesis, which may alter vascular tone and responsiveness. Objective : To examine the effects of two COX-2 inhibitors, meloxicam and etoricoxib, on blood pressure and vascular reactivity in rats. Recombinant Epo (r-HuEpo) ถูกสังเคราะห์เป็นยาที่ใช้รักษาภาวะซีดในผู้ป่วยไตวายเรื้อรังโดยกระบวนการ biotechnology การค้นพบยานี้ช่วยทำให้ผู้ป่วยไตวายเรื้อรังมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี และมีอัตราการเกิด cardiovascular morbidity ลดลง ผู้ป่วยบางรายที่ได้รับยาอาจเกิดภาวะ pure red cellaplasia (PRCA) ซึ่งเกิดจาก anti-r-HuEpo antibody ทำให้เกิดภาวะซีดรุนแรงจนอาจทำให้เกิดภาวะแทรกซ้อนทางหัวใจและหลอดเลือดจนอาจทำให้ผู้ป่วยเสียชีวิต เกณฑ์ในการวินิจฉัยที่สำคัญที่สุดในการระบุภาวะ anti-r-HuEpo associated PRCA ได้แก่ การตรวจ anti-r-HuEpo และพิสูจน์พบว่าanti-r-HuEpo มี neutralization effect ด้วย neutralization assay ยังไม่ทราบสาเหตุของ anti-r-HuEpoassociated PRCA ที่แน่ชัด อย่างไรก็ตามมีสมมุติฐานที่น่าสนใจหลายสาเหตุ ได้แก่ สมมุติฐานleacheat therapy, บทบาทของ cold chain, และบทบาทของปัจจัยทางพันธุกรรม ปัจจุบันยังไม่มีการศึกษาในลักษณะ clinical trial ถึงแนวทางการรักษาผู้ป่วยภาวะ anti-r-HuEpo associated PRCAมีข้อแนะนำให้ผู้ป่วยทุกรายหยุดยา r-HuEpo โดยไม่ควรเปลี่ยนยี่ห้อผลิตภัณฑ์ และควรพิจารณาปลูกถ่ายไตแก่ผู้ป่วยในผู้ป่วยที่ไม่มีข้อห้าม ในผู้ป่วยที่ไม่สามารถปลูกถ่ายไตควรได้รับยากดภูมิคุ้มกันข้อมูลที่มีอยู่แสดงให้เห็นว่ายากดภูมิคุ้มกันอาจมีประสิทธิภาพในการรักษา ทั้งนี้ขึ้นกับ regimenในการใช้ยา.

Participants : Four hundred and thirty-one subjects from industrial plants in Bangkok. Methods : Levels of happiness were obtained by using the Thai Mental Health Indicators-66 (TMHI-66). Demographic, work, and social data were also collected. Objective : Dirofilariasis or heartworm disease, a mosquito-borne parasitic disease, continues to be a serious problem in canine (dogs) and feline (cats) species. The disease is caused mainly by the filarial nematode, Dirofilaria immitis. In canine dirofilariasis, the adult worms, present in the pulmonary arteries and the right ventricle, causing damages and leading to pulmonary hypertension and right-sided congestive heart failure. In addition, acute death in feline dirofilariasis causes lung injury resulting in respiratory distress.
