According to the development of treatment and prevention of mental disorders in the past 10 - 20 years, several new psychotropic drugs in four categories of antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilizers and anxiolytics have been introduced for the treatment and found to improve efficacy and response to treatment. Regarding psychotherapies, there are many forms and techniques that have been developed and successfully applied to treatment such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, interpersonal and social rhythm therapy, satir model and cognitive-behavioral therapy. A Thai law for drug addict rehabilitation has been in force for almost 10 years. In 2000, Thailand and China accounted for over 70% of global MA seizures and over 100,000 individuals received treatment for MA dependency treatment each year in Thailand. Reported here is a case of female teenager who had a history of major depressive disorder and, according to the law, was hospitalized for methamphetamine dependency treatment. Tourette’s Syndrome (TS) is a neuropsychiatric disorder, with onset in children. It is characterized by multiple motor and phonic tics. The pathophysiology of TS is not well understood. Previous studies suggested the etiology involving the abnormal dopaminergic neurotransmission, abnormalities in basal ganglia-related circuits and genetics in TS. In 2010, Ercan-Sencicek G, et al has identified a rare functional mutation in the Histidine Decarboxylase (HDC) gene in the family with high density of TS. HDC gene encodes L-Histidine decarboxylase, which is a rate-limiting step enzyme in histamine biosynthesis. HDC was found at high levels in mouse’s hypothalamus and striatum. Histamine receptors …

A 22-year-old male with a giant anterior mediastinal mass underwent general anesthesia and tumor removal through Clamshell incision. The mass (approximately 4 kg) that occupied the plural cavity with retarded venous drainage of the chest caused the symptoms and signs of SVC obstruction. Due to no sign of upper thoracic airway obstruction, the operation plan was not included CPB standby. Anesthesia in this case was difficult from the beginning. However, it was smoothed out with subsequent intravenous thiopental induction, followed by atracurium and sevoflurane in maintenance of the anesthesia. Objective : This study was conducted to investigate predictors of mortality after isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Design : Retrospective study Setting : King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. Methods : Retrospective single-institutional data on risk factors and mortality were collected from 196 patients who underwent isolated CABG by the same group of surgeons from November 2007-October 2008. The relationship between risk factors and outcome was assessed using univariate and multivariate analyses. Results : The mean age of the patients (30.1% women and 69.9% men) was 61.1 +/- 9 years. Objective : To validate the Thai version of the Urogenital Distress Inventory (UDI) and Incontinence Impact Questionnaire (IIQ) for Thai women. Materials and Methods : The UDI and IIQ have been translated into Thai. Test - retest reliability and internal consistency were tested. Two hundred and eighteen patients who visited the urogynecologic clinic at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital between March 2008 and April 2010 completed the Thai version of UDI and IIQ. Esophageal necrosis is a rare complication of treatment of the descending thoracic or thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm. It is almost always fatal. Sepsis and bleeding secondary to dehiscence of the aortic- graft suture line are main mechanisms of death. However, these patients can be saved by aggressive medical and surgical treatment. A 40-year-old male was transferred to this hospital because of severe epigastric pain secondary to concealed rupture of a descending aortic aneurysm. In 1960, Kouwenhoven observed that forceful compressions on the chest could produce an arterial pulse. Over the following years, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) became continuously advanced. Currently, experts at the conference on International Guidelines 2010 strongly recommend development of in-school CPR programs as a primary educational strategy to ensure wide-spread learning of CPR. During CPR the physician always gives priority to dealing with the life-threatening condition first. While CPR can save lives, it may also expose a high risk of injury to the patient. Problem/Background: Estimation of postmortem interval (PMI) is essential for supporting justice especially in legal cases. At early stage of death, the PMI can be evaluated using data from physical changes of the corpses. In case of the corpses that have died more than 48 hours, the physical change may be less accurate for prediction. The species identification of blowflies, early found on corpses, as well as the specific developmental stage are required for PMI estimation. However, it is not yet practical for morphological identification. To surpass these problems, DNAbased identification is preferentially applied.

Background : Sclerosing adenosis and radial scar of the breast are benign conditions that may be mistaken for carcinoma on imaging and they are also considered independent risk for breast cancer. Objective : To demonstrate mammographic and ultrasonographic patterns of sclerosing adenosis and radial scar and to determinate the coexisting of both diseases to synchronous breast cancer. Material and Methods : Retrospective analysis of the pathology confirmed 80 sclerosing adenosis foci and 23 radial scar foci was performed.
