Background : CT is the standard equipment for assessing a variety of disorder in children. More than half of pediatric CT examinations at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH) are related to the brain. Nevertheless, there is no available data of pediatric radiation dose from CT brain at KCMH. Objective : To assess the effectiveness of routine use of peak flow meter (PFM) in addition to symptom-based guided self-management of children with asthma. Materials and Method : A prospective randomized controlled trial was performed in patients aged 6 - 15 years with persistent asthma who had been treated with inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) for at least 1 month. Problem/background : Pneumocystis jirovecii can be detected by staining methods but the sensitivity is low. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique is more sensitive and accurate but it requires high quality of DNA template. Although DNA prepared by boiling method may not generate high quality of DNA, it has been used for extraction of DNA from several organisms such as malaria, several bacteria and fungi for PCR detection with favorable results. Asians, in general, are more conservative about sexual and reproduction-related issues than individuals from Western countries. These conservative attitudes often lead to reticence to communicate about sexual and reproductive issues, hindering attempts to promote sex education or contraceptive knowledge, which can heighten the risk for sexually transmitted disease, unintended pregnancy, induced abortion, and emotional problems. They are described according to the location that impingement occurs. Each can present in isolation or combined with the others. Background : Recent systematic meta-analyses provide evidence for the efficacy of diacerein 100 mg/day in the treatment of knee and hip osteoarthritis (OA). However, as diacerein may cause acceleration in intestinal transit time during the first 2 weeks of treatment, it is recommended to start with 50 mg/day for 4 weeks then increase the dose to 100 mg/day. Os odontoideum is a small round or oval corticated ossicle with a smooth cortical border and no body union to the body of the axis. Posttraumatic injury of the cervical spine is one of the etiologies. We reported a 28-year-old man patient with os odontoideum presented with a trivial hyperflexion cervical trauma. Acromioclavicular joint injury is common among young active individuals. Stability of this complex structure composes of muscles (deltoid and trapezius), ligaments (acromioclavicular and coracoclavicular) and joint capsule. Clinical and radiographic examinations are crucial for the diagnosis of this injury. Non operative treatment is indicated for type I and II injury. Surgical treatment is, however, indicated for type IV, V and VI injury. Treatment for type III injury is still controversy.
