Plasma administration was studied in newborn calves with failure of passive colostral transfer (FPCT). Eighteen sick Holstein calves with FPCT (Experimental group) and 6 healthy Holstein calves known to have consumed colostrum (Control group) were used as a materials. Failure of passive colostral transfer was confirmed by a negative gluteraldehyde coagulation test (GACT). In this study, the parameters of the regression models for the lactation curve were estimated. A total of 45 standard milk yield records obtained from the first, the second and the third lactations of Jersey bred in Karaköy State Farm were used in the present study. Milk production records were corrected for the ages of cows ond the numbers of lactation. The parameters were estimated in two stages. In this study, 56 rats (Rattus norvegicus) naturally infected with both Aspiculuris tetraptera and Syphacia muris were used. The animals were randomly divided into the treatment (37 animals) and control (19 animals) groups. Moxidectin (Cydectin enj., %1 Moxidectin) at 0.2 mg/kgbw was given subcutaneously to the treatment group. The faeces of both groups were examined on days 0, 7, 14, 21, 28. In order to provide uniqe insight into the metabolic disturbences seen after calving cholesterol, triglycerid, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, very low density lipoprotein, glucose and insulin levels in serum were studied before calving (group I), in aerly (group II) and late (group III) lactation in 24 normal cows. Serum lipoproteins were separeted into various density classes by repeated ultracentrifugation. A deficiency in the slow moving gamma globulin in an eight-month-old emaciated female Awassi sheep is described. Analysis of serum protein electrophoresis (SPE) on cellulose acetate of this sheep revealed the presence of three fractions only; albumin (alb), a and b compared with that of the normal sheep which showed four fractions (alb, a and b and g).This finding occurred in a ewe which belonged to a closed breeding system awassi flock. In this study, 768 faecal samples were examined between June 1993-May 1994 to determine the species and the prevalence rates of Eimeriidae in the cattle of Thracia area (The European part of Turkey). The prevalence rate of eimeridosis was found to be 68%. The species determined and their prevalence rates were as follows: Eimeria bovis(34%), E.auburnensis(27%), E.zeuernii(26%), E.ellipsoiDalıs (14%), E.canadensis (12%), E.cylindrica (7.9%), E.supspherica (7.2%), E.alabamensis (4.9%), E.bukidnonensis (2.2%), E.brasiliensis (0.8%) and Isospora sp. Digestibility in vivo, in vitro and, in situ and effect on the chemical composition of barley straw following pilot-scale treatment with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) were investigated A range of laboratory measurements were also verified. Faecai specimens from 172 diarrhoeic and 130 healthy cattle were examined for the presence of Crytosporidium spp., Eschricia coli K99 and Rotavirus in Ankara, Turkey. The prevalence of the Crytosporidium spp. infection in diarrhoeic and non-dierrhoeic cattle was 63.3% and 69.2%, respectively. Crytosporidium positive faecal specimens were examined for the presence of E. coli K99 and Rotavirus. E. coli K99 was isolated from the feaces of 35 diarrhoeic (32.1%) and 23 healthy (25.5%) animals. Experiments were conducted to determine the differences of two different commercial feeds (which contain protein levels of % 46.65 and % 44.88) on the growth of the Rainbow trout ( Oncorhynchus mykiss W. 1792) grown in sea water. Diffuse epididymal melanosis were determined in 9 cases of 446 (2%) slaugtered Redkaraman rams. The pigmentation was unilateral in 3 rams and bilateral in 6 rams. These epididymes were seen on greenish-blue in colour macroscopically. In the microscopic examinations, the melanin loaded cells were obserwed in the wall and/or intersititum of ductuli efferentes and ductus epididymis.

In this research, the shelf-life of vacuum-packed Rainbow trouts ( Salmo gairdneri) in 80° salinometer for 4 hours and then, treated by cold smoking (for 8 hours at 28°C) and by hot smoking (smoking was carried out in these steps: first, at 30°C for 30 minutes; second, at 50°C for 30 minutes and then, samples were cooked at 80°C for 45 minutes) was determined during the storage periods at +4±1°C and -18±1°C. This study was made to investigate the structure of the ovaries of adult Brown bears which were brought to the Wildlife Research Centre (WRC) in Bursa. Ovaries obtained by laparoscopic surgery method, were divided into two pieces and fixated in buffered formalin. The 10-15 µ cryostat sections were stained with Oilred O stain method. The 5-7 µ sections cut from paraffin blocks stained with Crossmon's triple stain, Gomori's silver stain, Pinkus' orcein-giema stain and Mc Manus' periodic acide schiff (PAS) technique. This investigation has been done the effect of various cemen paste mixtures on the chemical and organoleptic quality of pastrami. The pastramies which were prepared experimentally have been mixed with the various cemen pastes and the effects of these mixtures on the chemical and organoleptic properties of pastramies were investigated on the Ist, 7th, 15th, 30th and 60th days. While the humidity of pastramies samples was 45.08-48.63% on the first day, and between 21.68-24.18% on the 60th day.
