โรคติดต่อร้ายแรงบางชนิดที่เกิดจากเชื้อราในสุนัขและแมว ("Systemic Fungal Infections In Dogs And Cats"), เล็ก อัศวพลังชัย, เทอด เทศประทีป, บุญมี สัญญสุจจารี, พิเคราะห์ อาจทรงคุณ

แผนกพยาธิวิทยาได้ทำการสำรวจสถิติการตรวจผ่าซากสัตว์ ซึ่งทางหน่วยได้จัดบริการแก่สัตวแพทย์เกษตรกร และประชาชนโดยทั่วไป ซึ่งสถิติการ ตรวจผ่าซากสัตว์ในรอบ 4 ปี ที่ผ่านมามีดังนี้ ปี 2513 มีจํานวน 100 ราย ปี 2514 มีจํานวน 107 ราย ปี 1515 มี 78 ราย และปี 2516 มี 182 ราย ซึ่งมีสุนัขเป็นส่วนใหญ่รองลงมามีสุกร สัตว์ปีกแมว ม้า โค และสัตว์ป่า ซึ่งในจำนวนนี้ได้ตรวจพบสัตว์ซึ่งตาย ด้วยโรคอันเกิด จากเชื้อราชนิดร้ายแรงซึ่งทางหน่วยพยาธิวิทยา ได้ทำการตรวจศึกษาเกี่ยวกับประวัติ อาการ การตรวจผ่าซาก การตรวจชิ้นเนื้อทางกล้องจุลทัศน์ และการตรวจแยกหาเชื้อโดยละเอียด ปี 2513 ถึงปี 2516 รวม 4 ปี พบแมวเป็น Cryptococcosis 7 ราย Nocardiosis 1 ราย และพบสุนัขเป็น Nocardiosis 1 ราย Geotrichosis 1 ราย จากตัวเลขต่าง ๆดังกล่าวจะเห็นได้ว่าสัตว์ซึ่งตายด้วยโรค Systemic fungal-infections เท่าที่พบนั้น พบได้ในสุนัขและแมว ซึ่งเป็นสัตว์เลี้ยงอยู่ใกล้ชิดคนมาก ในฐานะสัตว์เลี้ยงในบ้าน และขณะเดียวกันก็พบว่ามีรายงานในคนซึ่งป่วยด้วยโรคเชื้อราดังกล่าวแล้วด้วยเช่นกัน

การศึกษาโรคมาเร๊กส์ในไก่ไข่ (Study Of Marek's Disease In Laying Chickens), นายเชิดชัย รัตนเศรษฐากุล

การศึกษาอาการ (clinical signs) วิการที่ดูด้วยตาเปล่า (gross lesions) และวิการ ทางกล้องจุลทัศน์ (Microscopic lesions) และเปอร์เซ็นต์การตาย (mortality) ของโรคมาเซ็กส์ (Marek s' disease) ในลูกไก่ไข่ตัวเมีย 2,000 ตัว ซึ่งเลี้ยงที่หมวดสัตว์ปีก คณะเกษตรศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ตั้งแต่อายุ 1 วัน ถึง 130 วัน ปรากฏผลดังนี้ ลูกไก่ที่เป็นโรคมาเร็กส์ ทั้งหมด 53 ตัว หรือประมาณ 2.65% แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ชนิด คือ classical หรือ chronic form และ acute form ชนิด classical form พบในลูกไก่ 37 ตัว อายุ ตั้งแต่ 45 วัน ถึง 114 วัน ลูกไก่แสดงอาการซึม เดินขากะเผลก ชักเป็นครั้งคราว คอบิด ขาหรือปีก เป็นอัมพาต ผอมแห้ง ในที่สุดตาย การผ่าตรวจซากส่วนมากพบการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เส้นประสาท sciatic nerves ที่ขา โดยเส้นประสาทนี้จะขยายใหญ่ สีเข้มขึ้น และลายขวางหายไป ในบางตัวจะ พบเนื้องอกเกิดขึ้นในอวัยวะภายใน เช่น ม้าม ตับ และรังไข่ วิการทางกล้องจุลทัศน์ พบ lymphoid infiltration ใน sciatic nerve และอวัยวะภายในที่พบเนื้องอก และพบ lymphocytic per- ivascular cuffing ในสมอง โรคมาเซ็กส์อีกชนิดหนึ่ง คือ acute form พบในลูกไก่ 16 …

Cadimium (Cd) is found everywhere in the environments such as plant and animal tissues, foods, milk, atmospheric air and in the factories. A man may consume between 48-83 ug of Cd per dayfrom regular food without showing any signs of disturbances The essentiality of Cd in animal nutrition needs more research. However, it has been demonstrated that high level of Cd will cause hypertension. anemia, degeneration of ovary and testis, sterility, pulmonary necrosis and edema decrease in weight of the newborns and deformation, milk and body weight reduction in dairy cows.
