Some Aspects Of Steroids Radioimmunoassay (Ria) Involved In The Study Of Weak Estrous Phenomenon Of Swamp Buffalo, Maneewan Kamonpatana

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

The paper illustrates some aspects and problems of steroids RIA findings, obtained during the studies on the problem of weak estrous in swamp buffaloes. The work described herein which stem from three aspects of steroids RIA; 1) chromatographic technique of steroids separation 2) immunoreactivity of labelled I steroids and displacement efficiency; 3) technique of the separation of free and bound fractions. The nonaffinity and low displacement efficiency are also discussed.

Effects of intrarenal artery perfusion on kidney function in the dog. Either the hypertonic solution (537 mOsm/kg) or the hypotonic solution (27 mOsm/kg) were infused directly into left or right renal artery at the rate of 2.5 ml/min instead of the control isotonic saline solution (280 mOsm/kg). During experimental period the contralateral kidney received isotonic saline solution continuously as during the control period. Infusion of hypertonic saline solution, raising sodium concentration in that renal artery by 4.59 ± 1.18 (SD) μEq/ml, caused a significant increase in V, UNa .V and VCl.V. Sheep of all classes are drenched more or less regularly throughout the agricultural areas of Western Australia.

Much of the drench is wasted because it is used in the wrong circumstances. This situation is probably a result of poor understanding of drenching.

This article discusses the philosophy of drenching and attempts to relate this to the epidemiology of parasitism as it is currently understood.

Lumpy wool, or mycotic dermatitis, is an infectious disease on the skin of the sheep caused by the bacterium Dermatophilus conglensis. The organism invades the wool and hair follicles, causing formation of skin lesions producing scabby material which binds the wool fibres into a hard mass.

Research shows that 'dipping' may increase the incidence of lumpy wool with some chemicals a greater risk than others.

Ryegrass Disease Could Spread, Department Of Agriculture, Western Australia

The disease annual ryegrass toxicity kills sheep and cattle grazing pastures which contain infected annual ryegrass. In Western Australia the first confirmed outbreak was in 1968 in the Gnowangerup area.

The disease has noe spread over a range of 450 kilometres and with a total area of perhaps 100 000 hectares. because annual ryegrass is the major sown pasture grass in W.A. the disease could spread throughout the South-West.

There are some precautions that can be taken.

พยาธิโปรโตซัวเม็ดเลือดในนกพิราบ, มานพ ม่วงใหญ่

Haemoproteus columbae เป็นพยาธิเม็ดเลือดของนกพิราบที่พบได้ทั่วโลก ในประเทศไทยได้มีการสำรวจในนกพิราบบ้านที่สถานีบํารุงพันธุ์สัตว์ จังหวัดสุรินทร์ และนกพิราบจากสวนสัตว์ดุสิต กรุงเทพฯ พบเชื้อนี้ 60% และ 95.83% ตามลำดับ แต่ไม่ทําให้เกิด อาการที่เห็นได้ชัด นอกจากนี้ยังตรวจพบเชื้อ Malaria ที่มีรูปร่างคล้ายกับ Plasmodium circumflexum ในนกพิราบจากแห่งแรกอีกด้วย

ศึกษาการใช้เนมบิวทัล เป็นยาระงับความรู้สึกเฉพาะบริเวณที่ไขสันหลังใน สุนัขทดลองจำนวน 10 ตัว โดยฉีดเข้าไขสันหลังบริเวณส่วนต่อระหว่างกระดูกลัมบาร์ (lumbar) และ ซาครั่ม (sacrum) สุนัขทั้งหมดแสดงอาการอัมพาตของขาหลังและส่วนท้ายของ ลําตัว (posterior paralysis) พร้อมที่จะทําการผ่าตัดได้ในเวลา 7.8 นาทีหลังจากฉีดยา แล้ว และยังมีอาการง่วงนอนร่วมด้วย ฤทธิ์ของยาจะอยู่ได้นานประมาณ 50 นาที นอกจากนั้น ยังพบอาการผิดปกติเกี่ยวกับการขับถ่ายปัสสาวะในสุนัขตัวผู้ 1 ตัว และตัวเมีย 1 ตัว โดยมี อาการปัสสาวะหยุด ในตัวผู้อาการจะหายไปเมื่อเริ่มใช้ขาหลังได้ แต่ในตัวเมียอาการดังกล่าว จะเกิดขึ้นเมื่อยาหมดฤทธิ์แล้ว พร้อมทั้งมีอาการปวดเบ่งถ่ายปัสสาวะด้วย

ศึกษาอาการและวิการเมื่อทา pHisoHex บนผิวหนังที่บริเวณกลางหลังส่วนท้ายลูกสุนัขแสดงของลูกสุนัขด้วยขนาด 30 และ 60 มิลลิกรัมต่อน้ำหนักตัวหนึ่งกิโลกรัมต่อวัน อาการน้ำหนักตัวลดลง, เบื่ออาหาร, มีอาการระคายเคืองที่ผิวหนัง, ผิวหนังเป็นผื่นแดงและลอก หลุดออกมา ทรงตัวไม่ค่อยได้ขาหลังอ่อนแรง เดินโซเซ กล้ามเนื้อสั่นและแข็งตึง, ตาบอด ผลทางพยาธิฮิสโตพบว่ามี vacuolation ตลอด white matter ของสมอง, ไขสันหลัง และจะพบเป็นมากที่สุดที่ optic tract, optic nerve นอกจากนี้ยังพบการ เปลี่ยนแปลงที่ retina

ลูกสุกรหย่านม พันธุ์ลาจไวท์ อายุประมาณ 1 เดือน จำนวน 15 ตัว ที่ซื้อมาจากบริเวณข้างฟาร์ม ๆ หนึ่ง ที่จังหวัดราชบุรี หลังจากนำมาเลี้ยงได้ 3 วัน ก็มีอาการ ไอ ตามด้วยอาการท้องร่วงอย่างแรง ลูกสุกรเหล่านี้ได้ตายไป 7 ตัว ภายในเวลา 4 วัน ลูกสุกรตัวหนึ่งที่มีอาการมากที่สุด และตายลงใหม่ ๆ ได้รับการตรวจซากเพื่อชัณสูตรโรค ใน ลูกสุกรตัวนี้พบมีวิการที่น่าสนใจ คือ มีพยาธิในปอดชนิด Metastrongylus apri นอกจาก นี้ยังพบการอักเสบอย่างเรื้อรังของลิ้นหัวใจและแผลขนาดต่าง ๆ ในกระเพาะอาหารอีกด้วย

การศึกษากายวิภาคทางรังสีของกระเพาะปัสสาวะ (cystography) ของสุนัข โดยการใช้คอนทราสมีเดีย (contrast media) ช่วยในการศึกษาทำได้หลายวิธี เช่น การฉีด อากาศเข้าไปในกระเพาะปัสสาวะ (pneumocystography) การฉีดสีเข้าไปในกระเพาะปัสสาวะ (positive contrast cystography) การฉีดสีและอากาศเข้าไปในกระเพาะปัสสาวะ หรือการฉีดอากาศเข้าไปในช่องท้อง (pneumoperitoneum) ร่วมกับการฉีดสี หรือ อากาศเข้าไปในกระเพาะปัสสาวะ (double contrast cystography) และการฉีดสีเข้าไปในเส้นเลือดดำ (intravenous pyelography) จากการทดลองพบว่า วิธีการฉีด อากาศเข้าไปในกระเพาะปัสสาวะเป็นวิธีที่ทําได้ง่าย สะดวกและราคาถูกที่สุด นอกจากนั้นแล้วทำให้มองเห็นลักษณะทางกายวิภาคของกระเพาะปัสสาวะได้ชัดเจนที่สุด

Calcinosis Circumscripta Of The Tongue : A Case Report., Terd Tesprateep

The paper describes a case of lingual calcinosis circumscripta affecting a young female German-shepherd. Clinical information, pathology and possible etiology are given. Multilocular calcified lesions of dog in which calcium salts are present as chalky-white, irregular masses embedded in fibrous connective tissue usually in the skin and subcutaneous tissues, was described on one hand as "Calcium gout" or Kalkgicht" (Kunze 1926), and on the other (Thompson and co-workers 1959). as "Calcinosis circumscripta" Similar lesions were less commonly seen in the tongue and cavity buccal (Cotchin 1960, Douglas and Kelly 1966, Howell and Ishmael 1966). Large artery, pedal small vein, femoral vein and central venous pressures and extremity volume changes were recorded in mongrel dogs in which the hindlimb was perfused at a constant flow. Arterial, pedal venous and femoral venous blood gases were drawn and analyzed for measurements of arterio-venous O₂ and CO₂ differences. Paw and thigh resistances were calculated. Measurements were repeated following ligation of the iliac and femoral veins, alpha receptor blockade (dibenzyline), and dilation with Vasodilan. Results indicate that ligation of extremity veins results in an active ·increase in total limb resistance below the ligation, an increase in the …

ประสิทธิภาพของยาถ่ายพยาธิราไนด์ขนาด 5 มิลลิกรัมต่อน้ำหนัก 1 กิโลกรัม และ โทรแด็กขนาด 10 มิลลิกรัม ต่อน้ำหนัก 1 กิโลกรัม ต่อพยาธิใบไม้ Fasciola spp. ได้ ทําการทดลองแบบ field test ในโคของสำนักงานเกษตร ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ จำนวน 18 ตัว strain ของ Fasciola spp. ที่ทำการศึกษานี้ดื้อยาต่อราไนด์และ โทรแด็กในขนาดที่แนะนำให้ใช้ ราไนด์ไม่มีประสิทธิภาพในการลดจำนวนไข่พยาธิ โทรแด็กมีประสิทธิภาพไม่ดีโดยลดจำนวนไข่พยาธิได้บางส่วน (14.6 ถึง 34.5 เปอร์เซ็นต์) ในสี่สัปดาห์แรกหลังถ่ายยาเท่านั้น
