ประสิทธิภาพของยา อามีทราส (Amitraz) ในการรักษาโรคขี้เรื้อนขุมขนในสุนัข, สันนิภา สุรทัตต์, วิชา กอดีวี, นภดล ศุภจรรยา, มานพ ม่วงใหญ่, รัตนาภรณ์ พรหมาสา

ศึกษาประสิทธิภาพของยา อามีทราส (Amitraz) ในการรักษาโรคขี้เรื้อนขุมขนในสุนัขจำนวน 10 ตัว อายุระหว่าง 5 เดือน ถึง 3 ปี โดยใช้ความเข้มข้น 250 ppm ทุก 2 สัปดาห์ ทำการตรวจอาการทางคลินิกและตรวจค่าทางโลหิตวิทยาเพื่อศึกษาผลข้างเคียงระหว่างการรักษา พบว่า สุนัข 3 ตัว หายจากโรค สุนัข 4 ตัว ไม่หาย สุนัข 3 ตัว ตายระหว่างการรักษา จำนวนครั้งเฉลี่ยของการรักษาในสุนัขที่หายเท่ากับ 6.67 ครั้ง พบอาการข้างเคียงหลังการรักษา ครั้งแรกในสุนัขจำนวน 2 ตัว โดยแสดงอาการซึม น้ำลายไหล และไม่กินอาหาร ไม่พบการเปลี่ยน แปลงของค่าโลหิตวิทยา จากการศึกษาในครั้งนี้พบว่ายาให้ผลในการรักษาไม่เป็นที่น่าพอใจนัก

ศึกษาสภาพภูมิคุ้มโรคอหิวาต์สุกรในฝูงพ่อแม่พันธุ์ 2 หน่วย จำนวน 197 ตัว ในจังหวัดชลบุรี โดยตรวจซีรั่มด้วยวิธีไมโครนิวทราลไลเซชั่นอิมมูโนฟลูออเรสเซนต์ พบว่า ระดับภูมิคุ้มกันเฉลี่ยเปรียบเทียบตามลำดับครอกในแม่พันธุ์ ตามอายุในพ่อพันธุ์ และตามระยะเวลาหลังฉีดวัคซีน ครั้งล่าสุดก่อนเก็บเลือด ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p>0.05) โดยภูมิคุ้มกันเฉลี่ยรวมทุกกลุ่มของแม่พันธุ์และพ่อพันธุ์มีค่าเท่ากับ 67.4+ 2.7 และ 51.5+3.1 ตามลำดับ

Because of the increasing number of serious risk factors which predispose a normally immune competent host to infection, the incidence of systemic fungal infections is steadily increasing. This epidemiological rise has especially become apparent since the onset of the AIDS epidemic. Amphotericin B is the drug of choice for these life-threatening mycotic infections. Complications due to drug toxicity, however, severely limit amphotericin B's clinical usefulness. The major complication associated with the administration of amphotericin B is renal toxicity. นำชุดทดสอบสำเร็จรูปชนิด latex agglutination test (LAT) จากประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งเป็นชุดทดสอบภูมิคุ้มกันต่อโรคออเจสกี้ในซีรั่มสุกรที่ตอบผลการทดสอบเป็นผลบวกหรือลบเท่านั้นมาทดสอบซีรั่มสุกรในประเทศไทยซึ่งมีประวัติต่างๆกันจำนวน 800 ตัวอย่าง โดยเปรียบเทียบกับ การทดสอบวิธี virus neutralization test (VNT) พบว่าในกลุ่มสุกรปลอดโรค ผลการ ทดสอบสอดคล้องกันและไม่พบผลบวกเทียม แต่วิธี LAT มีความไวสูงกว่าในกลุ่มสุกรที่ทำวัคซีน และตรวจพบภูมิคุ้มกันหลังติดเชื้อได้เร็วกว่า การประยุกต์ใช้โดยเจือจางซีรั่มตามลำดับก่อน การทดสอบ จะช่วยในการประเมินค่าระดับภูมิคุ้มกันโดยประมาณได้ การทดสอบวิธี LAT นี้ ให้ผล การตรวจที่รวดเร็วและทดสอบได้ง่ายแม้ในท้องที่หรือในฟาร์มสุกร

เปรียบเทียบผลการผ่าตัดเพื่อเอาพยาธิออกจากช่องหน้าตาม้า 6 ตัว โดยการเจาะฝา cornea ทะแยงเป็นมุมแหลมกับผิว cornea บริเวณชิดกับ limbus ที่ตำแหน่งต่าง ๆ ระหว่าง 7 และ 11 นาฬิกาของตาขวาและระหว่าง 1 และ 5 นาฬิกาของตาซ้าย และทำการเย็บรอยผ่าเพียง 3 ตัว พบว่าทุกวิธีให้ผลดีเหมือนกัน ลูกตามีขนาดปกติและ cornea ของม้าทุกตัวใสเป็นปกติภาย ใน 1 เดือนภายหลังผ่าตัด

สุนัขพันธุ์ผสม เพศผู้ อายุ 5 ปี แสดงการอาเจียนเป็นอาหารที่ไม่ย่อยภายหลังกินอาหาร เป็นมานาน 2 สัปดาห์ จากการตรวจทางรังสีวิทยาพบว่า ลักษณะของกระเพาะอาหารผิดปกติ โดยมีการลดลงของช่องทางเดินภายในกระเพาะอาหาร เมื่อผ่าตัดช่องท้องสำรวจพบว่ามีการหนาตัวของ ชั้น mucosa ทุกส่วนของกระเพาะอาหาร และรายงานผลทางจุลพยาธิวิทยาแสดงว่าสุนัขเป็นโรค hypertrophic gastropathy

ผลการถ่ายเลือดต่อระบบต่าง ๆ ของสุนัขทดลองที่ได้รับการถ่ายเลือด (whole blood) จาก ตัวให้ ประมาณ 1% ของน้ำหนักตัว ของตัวรับ โดยมี ACD เป็นสารกันเลือดแข็งตัว ผลข้อมูลทางสรีรวิทยาที่ศึกษาได้แก่ค่าเม็ดเลือดแดงอัดแน่น ฮีโมโกลบินการทำงานของหัวใจ ปริมาณเลือดและพลาสม่าในร่างกาย ฮีโมโกลบินในพลาสม่า ฮีโมโกลบินในปัสสาวะ อัตราการขับปัสสาวะ ความดันเลือดแดงสูงสุดแบบทางอ้อม อัตราการหายใจ SGPT BUN creatinine ทำการบันทึกข้อมูล หลังการถ่ายเลือด 24 ชั่วโมง 4 วัน 7 วัน และ 14 วัน พบว่า การให้เลือด ทั้งที่เข้ากันได้หรือเข้ากันไม่ได้ครั้งเดียว ไม่มีผลเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสรีรวิทยาต่อระบบต่าง ๆ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ (P>0.05) สำ หรับการให้เลือดที่เข้ากันได้ 2 ครั้ง จะทำให้ค่า PCV ลดลงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ (P<0.05) ในช่วงเวลาหลังถ่ายเลือดครั้งแรก 4 วัน และ 7 วัน

Small mammals were trapped for 2 years at 16 localities on the central-Argentine pampa. Six species (Akodon azarae, Calomys musculinus, C. laucha, Bolomys obscurus, Oligory-zomys flavescens and Mus musculus) accounted for >95% of captures. The major breeding season, as assessed by pregnancies, was September or October through April or May. Mild weather in late autumn and winter of the second season resulted in a relatively longer breeding season during the 2nd year of the study. A naturally occurring outbreak of Mycobacterium bovid infection in captive wild elk (wapiti) in Montana was confirmed by mycobacteriologic examination. Twenty-eight of 143 elk responded to M. bovis purified protein derivative (PPD) tuberculin injected intradermally in the cervical region (SCT). The results of comparative cervical tuberculin skin tests conducted within 9 days of SCT revealed greater responses to M. bovis PPD tuberculin than to M. avium PPD tuberculin in 23 of 28 elk responding. At necropsy, several grossly visible tuberculous lesions were observed in the parenchyma of the lung, thoracic lymph nodes, and submandibular lymph nodes. Microscopic examination of appropriately …

Enterococci in the alimentary tract of animals are believed to be commensal bacteria.3 However, Enterococcus durans has been associated with diarrhea in foals, piglets, and puppies. The possibility that E. durans is associated with diarrhea in calves has not been established, although grampositive cocci adhered to villi, occasionally together with Cryptosporidia, have been seen histologically in the small intestine of diarrheic calves. This report describes the association of E. durans and diarrhea in 4 calves.

In the course of developing strategies to obtain a mutation in the aspartate semialdehyde dehydrogenase (asd) gene of Mycobacterium smegmatis, an efficient transposon trap was constructed which may be generally useful for the identification of transposable elements in mycobacteria. A DNA fragment containing the asd gene was replaced with an aminoglycoside phosphotransferase gene (aph) to generate a Δasd::aph allele. Attempts to replace the wild-type asd gene with the Δasd::aph allele were unsuccessful, suggesting that this deletion was lethal to the growth of M. smegmatis. The plasmid, pYUB215, which …

นำตัวอ่อนระยะ 1-2 เซลล์ จำนวน 122 ตัวอ่อน มาเลี้ยงในน้ำยาเพาะเลี้ยงชนิด Modified Kreb's Ringer เป็นเวลา 24 ชม. พบว่ามีอัตราการเจริญเป็นตัวอ่อนระยะ 4 เซลล์ จำ นวน 96 ตัวอ่อน คิดเป็น 78.7 % (96/122) หลังจากนั้นนำตัวอ่อนที่เพาะเลี้ยงจำนวน 40 ตัว อ่อน ไปฝากในสุกรตัวรับ จำนวน 3 ตัว ที่มีวงจรการเป็นสัดใกล้เคียงกับอายุตัวอ่อน ผลได้อัตรา การตั้งท้อง 100% (3/3), อัตราการเจริญเป็นตัวฟิตัสเท่ากับ 42.5% (17/40) และอัตราการ เจริญเป็นลูกสุกรปกติเท่ากับ 40% (16/40) ซึ่งพบว่าไม่ต่างกับกลุ่มควบคุมที่ได้รับตัวอ่อนที่ไม่ได้ เพาะเลี้ยง โดยมีอัตราต่าง ๆ เท่ากับ 75% (3/4), 46% (29/62) และ 35.5% (22/62) ตามลำ ดับ ลูกสุกรที่เกิดมาจากตัวอ่อนที่ผ่านการเพาะเลี้ยงมีน้ำหนักแรกคลอด และการเจริญเติบโตตั้งแต่ 1 ถึง 8 สัปดาห์ ใกล้เคียงกับกลุ่มควบคุม การศึกษาครั้งนี้ชี้ให้เห็นว่าตัวอ่อนสุกรสามารถพัฒนาตัว เองได้ หลังนำมาเลี้ยงนอกร่างกายนาน 24 ชม.

ศึกษาภาพถ่ายเอ็กซเรย์ช่องอกและลักษณะคลื่นไฟฟ้าหัวใจ (ECG) ของสุนัข 35 ตัวที่มีตัวอ่อนของพยาธิหัวใจ (microfilaria) ในกระแสโลหิต เปรียบเทียบกับสุนัข 15 ตัวที่ตรวจไม่พบ microfilaria และไม่มีอาการของโรคพยาธิหัวใจ พบว่าสุนัขที่มี microfilaria 27 ตัว มีอายุไม่น้อยกว่า 4 ปี สุนัขทุกตัวที่ตรวจพบ microfilaria จะมีความผิดปกติของหัวใจ ทั้งที่วินิจฉัยจากภาพเอ็กซเรย์ และจาก ECG สุนัขที่มี ECG ผิดปกติมีจำนวนแตกต่างจากกลุ่มที่ตรวจไม่พบ microfilaria อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ในขณะที่จำนวนสุนัขที่มีลักษณะของหัวใจผิดปกติในภาพ เอ็กซเรย์ไม่แตกต่างกัน ภาพเอ็กซเรย์ของสุนัขที่มีพยาธิหัวใจส่วนใหญ่แสดง right heart enlargement, lung edema, pulmonary knob, และ whole heart enlargement พบว่า ECG สามารถวินิจฉัยพยาธิสภาพของหัวใจได้ละเอียดกว่าภาพถ่ายเอ็กซเรย์ สุนัขส่วนใหญ่มี cardiac rhythm ผิดปกติคือ bundle branch block หรือ ventricular premature beat และพบ right atrial hypertrophy, right ventricular hypertrophy a myocardial stress

Eosinophilic intracytoplasmic inclusion bodies or Bollinger bodies were visualized histologically in hypertrophied epithelial cells of epidermis of an eyelid of a tucuman Amazon parrot (Amazona tucumata). Material prepared from an eyelid was inoculated onto the chorio-allantoic membrance (CAM) of ten-day-old embryonated hen eggs. Bollinger bodies were visualized histologically from pock-like lesions on the CAM. Electron microscopy revealed typical poxvirus in the inclusions.

Rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta) reared during the first year of life without social contact develop persistent stereotyped movements, self-directed behaviors, and psychosocial abnormalities, but neurobiological mechanisms underlying the behaviors of socially deprived (SD) monkeys are unknown. Monkeys were reared in total social deprivation for the first 9 months of life; control monkeys were reared socially (SR) with mothers and peers. Subjects were killed at 19-24 yr of age. Economic efficiency of beef production to weaning and to slaughter was estimated in three groups, different in milk available (low, medium, and high) to the calves but the same in growth potential. Efficiency was the ratio of income to expenses. Income was derived from cull cows and calves at weaning or carcasses of calves fed to slaughter. Feed and non-feed expenses for the cowherd and for calves to weaning or to slaughter were included. Actinobacillus pkuropneumoniae produces several hemolysins/cytotoxins that may be important in the pathogenesis of acute lesions. Little is known, however, about the role of these virulence factors in chronic disease or the carrier state. We investigated the effects of live bacterial infection and transthoracic injection of a sterile culture supernatant on primary lymphoid organs and lymphocyte populations. Transthoracic inoculation of mice or intranasal inoculation of pigs with virulent A. pleuropneumoniae serotypes 1 and 7 induced thymic cortical lymphoid necrosis. ลูกสุกรหย่านม 5 ตัว อายุ 45-60 วัน ถูกส่งมายังสถาบันสุขภาพสัตว์และผลิตสัตว์แห่งชาติ ด้วยอาการป่วยเรื้อรัง อาการเด่นชัดคือ ตัวเหลือง ซีด ซึม เบื่ออาหาร มีไข้และร่างกายทรุด โทรม จากการตรวจเลือดพบเชื้อ Eperythrozoon suis จำนวนมาก ผลทางโลหิตวิทยา พบว่าเม็ดเลือดแดงอัดแน่น (PCV) และฮีโมโกลบินต่ำกว่าปกติ จากการผ่าซากสุกรทั้ง 5 ตัว พบชั้นใต้ ผิวหนังเหลืองและบวมนำ หัวใจมีสีเหลือง โดยเฉพาะที่ coronary fat มีการบวมน้ำร่วมด้วย ตับมีสีเหลือง บวม เนื้อแน่น บางตัวพบจุดเนื้อตายสีขาวแทรกอยู่ในเนื้อตับ น้ำดีในถุงน้ำดีมีลักษณะข้น ม้ามโต บวมและนิ่ม พบปอดบวมและช่องท้องอักเสบในสุกร 1 ตัว ผลตรวจทางจุลพยาธิวิทยา พบฮีโมซิเดอร์รินจำนวนมากในตับ เนื้อตับพบลักษณะของ vacuolar และหย่อมเนื้อตาย ม้ามมีเลือดคั่ง ได้ทำการรักษาลูกสุกรป่วยที่เหลือด้วยยา oxytetracycline ปรากฏว่าลูกสุกรมีอาการดีขึ้นและ ตรวจไม่พบเชื้อหลังการรักษา

Anthelmintic Activity Of Closantel Against Fasciola Gigantica And Other Parasites In Cattle, Vichitr Sukhapesna, Darunee Tuntasuvan, Worapong Suriyajantratong

Anthelmintic activity of a single subcutaneous injection of closantel at the dose of 2.5 milligrams per kilogram of body weight was determined by the critical test method against Fasciola gigantica and other parasites in 5 naturally infected cattle. Closantel was shown to remove 100 per cent of mature F. gigantica. The drug was also 100 per cent effective against mature Mecistocirrus digitatus, Oesophagostomum radiatum and Bunostomum phlebotomum, whereas it was ineffective against Paramphistomum spp.

The electrocardiogram of wildlife animals was recorded using hexaxial lead system. The animals were seventeen crocodiles, one gibbon, three lorises, three tigers, four elephants and one binturong. All of them were conscious during the measurement. The Lead II of electrocardiogram was used in evaluating heart rate, rhythm and measuring the amplitude, time interval and segment. Standard limb leads were employed to calculate mean electrical axis of the ventricles. Electrocardiopgraphic features of P, QRS and T waves in all species were normal without slurring or notching. Prevention and treatment of caecal coccidiosis in chickens with toltrazuril in the concentration of 25 and 75 ppm in drinking water were tested in 16 groups of chicken for 24 and 8 hours respectively.
