Johnson grass is one of the most dangerous and difficult to control weeds. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different control methods on Johnson grass in tomato fields and to investigate the effect of these methods on the phenological stages and yield indicators of tomatoes. The study was carried out during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Drought is one of the major abiotic stresses limiting the advancement of the pear industry in the arid and semiarid regions of China. Currently, the production of pear seedlings mainly depends on the grafting propagation of rootstocks from Pyrus betulaefolia Bunge and Pyrus calleryana Decne. However, limited information is available on the drought stress potential of these rootstocks. Approximately 33% of the arable land around the world is vulnerable to drought, which is a very serious issue affecting the yield and productivity of cereal crops. Two contrasting rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes, HTT-138 (drought tolerant) and (HTT-39 droughtsensitive), under various levels of water treatments, i.e. control flooded (CF) as recommended for rice (control), control saturated (CS) 100% field capacity (FC), 80% FC, and 60% FC without or with foliar spray (100 mg L-1) of salicylic acid (SA) evaluated to enhance the yield for food security. Apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) is grown across a wide geographical area and has been cultivated in Azerbaijan for more than three thousand years. The purpose of the study was to characterize the apricot varieties and forms collected from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. Fourty-four apricot varieties and forms were studied according to 10 (phenological, pomological, morphological) parameters. A wide variation was found between yield, total soluble solids and fruit weight among varieties and forms. Expanding and expediting access to climate change information can improve collective action outcomes. Accordingly, the Maine Climate Action Plan called for the creation of an information-coordinating hub, to enable effective and efficient use of climate information in Maine’s climate change response. To aid that need, the University of Maine created the Maine Climate Science Information Exchange (MCSIE) office as a gateway to information about climate-relevant research, the scientists conducting that research, and the most recent data and applied science efforts relating to Maine’s climate change strategies.
