Lectin And Neuropeptide Labeling In Whole-Mount Preparation Ofmeninges In The Rat, Zafer Soygüder Jan 1999

Lectin And Neuropeptide Labeling In Whole-Mount Preparation Ofmeninges In The Rat, Zafer Soygüder

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The distribution of both peptidergic and non-peptidergic primary afferents in meninges was investigated in whole-mount preparations from meninges. Lectin Griffonia simplicifolia I-B4 (GSA I-B4) was used as a marker for non-peptidergic fibres. Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) was used as a marker for peptidergic fibers. Lectin Griffonia simplicifolia selectively labeled thin sensory axons that were distributed throughout meninges unrelated to blood vessels. CGRP immunoreactive axons, in contrast, were found to be very close to vascular patterns. This study demonstrates that lectin-positive fibres are constituted by a fibre population separate from those containing neuropeptides.

Comparison Of The Distribution Of C-Fos With Primary Afferent Markers, Zafer Soygüder Jan 1999

Comparison Of The Distribution Of C-Fos With Primary Afferent Markers, Zafer Soygüder

Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

The neuropeptides Substance P (SP) and Calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) were used as markers for peptidergic primary afferent fibres. A lectine, Griffonia simplicifolia (Bandeiraea simplicifolia)Isolectin-B4 (GSA I-B4), was used as a marker for non-peptidergic primary afferent fibres. C-Fos immunoreactivity was determined in the spinal cord of rats which had received 100% mustard oil application in the right hind limb. Darkly labelled c-Fos immunoreactive cells were concentrated in laminae I-IIo of the dorsal horn. SP and GSA I-B4 were distributed almost in the same regions. CGRP was more abundant in laminae I-IIo with someimmunoreactive fibres in lamina IIi. These data …

In the second group, samples were salted with 1 % dry salt and after 24 hours were immersed in 13 % brine solution. The cheese samples were analysed for chemical, microbiological and sensory properties on the first day of production and after 15, 30, 60 and 90 days of ripening. There were no statistical differences in the …

The structural changes of gill, liver and spleen tissue of the carp were examined. The gills of fishes which live in aquatic habitat exhibit tissue lesions caused by water pollutants, because they are in direct contact with their environment. In the results of this study, it was found at secondary lamellae fused together, and the gills are the most affected organs. Other histopathological …

The larvae of these species fed Artemia for 8 days, displayed normal development and high survival (over 90%), but, similar to the starved controls. The larvae grown on the nematodes had all died by the 8th day of the experiments. P. indicus larvae fed nematodes from stage Protozoea 3 …
