Aromatics production from C4 hydrocarbons is an interesting way to increase economic values and mixed C4 usage alternatives. This study was to model aromatics production from mixtures of butanes and butenes, enabling industrial work to be more developed and actualized by reducing laboratory cost and experimental time. The model was regarded as an equilibrium state in which the forward reaction rate and the reverse reaction rate are equivalent. Furfural possesses the potential to be utilized as a platform compound for the synthesis of a wide variety of chemicals, especially furfuryl alcohol, which is an important intermediate used to produce high-value chemicals. In this research, several types of zeolite catalysts in hydrogen form are used as catalysts for conversion of xylose to produce furfural and furfuryl alcohol in one step. In this work, the stability assessment of catalyst for the dry reforming reaction was investigated through the coke resistance performance and the ability of coke removal. The coke resistance performance was considered via the coke adsorption energy. For surface 100 and 211, NiCo bimetallic catalyst and Ni exhibit weaker bonding between coke and catalyst surface. For surface 111, both catalysts exhibited similar adsorption energy value. NiCo bimetallic catalyst also showed higher adsorption energy for surface 111 and 211 than the noble metal catalyst such as Rh and Pd catalyst which means NiCo catalysts can show the coke resistance performance that …

In this study, process improvement of bio-hydrogenated diesel (BHD) production to produce jet fuel as an alternative product was carried out. The BHD was produced from palm oil with NiMo/Y-Al2O3 catalyst, while the bio-jet fuel was produced by catalytic cracking of the BHD product using NiAg/SAPO-11 catalyst, followed by appropriate separations. Process simulation by using Aspen Plus program was performed to evaluate the improved process. A comparison with a base case BHD production process was also demonstrated and discussed. This work aims to study effects of friction modifiers, i.e., synthetic graphite and carbonized hemp hurd (CHH) on thermal stability, dynamic mechanical properties, mechanical properties, and tribological performances of polybenzoxazine-based friction composites. Simulation of brake pad and disc brake by using ANSYS simulation program to study behaviors of the friction modifier filled-polybenzoxazine composites, i.e. pressure distribution and wear rate was also investigated. Steam electrolysis for hydrogen production is investigated in solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC). Sc3+, Ce4+, and Gd3+ are doped in zirconia (SCGZ) and compared with yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and gadolinium doped ceria (GDC) electrolyte. Electrolyte-supported cells are fabricated. The SCGZ and YSZ electrolytes are dense with >95% relative density while GDC is less densified. The activation energy of conduction of the SCGZ electrolyte is the lowest at 65.58 kJ mol-1 although phase transformation is detected after electrolyte fabrication process. Cathode-supported cell having SCGZ electrolyte (Ni-SCGZ/SCGZ/BSCF) shows the highest electrochemical performance. Durability test of the cells in electrolysis mode is …

Catalyst shape affects to reactor performance and the effect is studied by mathematic models which are varied forms to more realistic. Therefore, the objective of research is to study the effect of catalyst shape on the behavior of reactor for ethylbenzene dehydrogenation to styrene in gas phase by varied form. The simplest model, pseudohomogeneous model (model1), predicts 36.52% ethylbenzene conversion. In this work, non-Faradaic Electrochemical Modification of Catalytic Activity (NEMCA) of propane oxidation over Pt/yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) thin films on alumina substrates has been studied. YSZ thin films were initially prepared by slurry dip coating and calcined at a relatively lower temperature of 800 oC. Propane oxidation at temperatures in a range of 300-500 oC clearly exhibited NEMCA. The maximum rate enhancement ratio was close to 3 at an applied potential of 1.0 V and a reaction temperature of 400 oC. The effect of CuO as a sintering additive on the electrolyte of solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) was investigated. 0.5 wt.% CuO was added into Sc0.1Ce0.05Gd0.05Zr0.89O2 (SCGZ) electrolyte as a sintering additive. An electrolyte-supported cell (Pt/SCGZ/Pt) was fabricated. Phase formation, relative density, and electrical conductivity were investigated. The cells were sintered at 1373 K to 1673 K for 4 h. The CuO significantly affected the sinterability of SCGZ. The SCGZ with 0.5 wt.% CuO achieved 95% relative density at 1573 K while the SCGZ without CuO could not be densified even at 1673 K. Typically, GVL is produced by conversion of furfural using supported metal catalysts. In this study, Co- and Pt-doped /ZSM-5 catalysts with Co loadings (0-10 wt%) and Pt loadings (0.5-2 wt%) were prepared by impregnation method and employed in the one-pot conversion of furfural to GVL. The separation of palladium (Pd (II)) from wastewater containing copper (Cu (II)) and nickel (Ni (II)) is investigated via hollow fiber supported liquid membrane (HFSLM). The viability to separate Pd (II) was established by controlling the influence of operating conditions viz. aqueous feed acidity, carrier concentration, types of stripping solution as well as flows rate of feed and stripping solutions. There are limited previous works focusing on the occurrence of intermediate debonding in steel beams strengthened with fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) plates. Tested beams in the past experiments invoked an intermediate debonding by creating notch in steel beams. An anchorage system at FRP termination points was installed on some tested beams in literature. This research investigated the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) columns with lap splices and mechanical splices. The study conducted the full-scale test and predicted a lateral load capacity using the proposed numerical model. The test configuration was a cantilever column subjected to a cyclic lateral loading and a constant gravity load. Automatic scene text detection and recognition can benefit a large number of daily life applications such as reading signs and labels, and helping visually impaired persons. Reading scene text images becomes more challenging than reading scanned documents in many aspects due to many factors such as variations of font styles and unpredictable lighting conditions. งานวิจัยนี้ทำการศึกษาเพื่อประมาณค่าพารามิเตอร์ทางจลนศาสตร์ของปฏิกิริยาการออกซิไดซ์โทลูอีน โดยตัวเร่งปฏิกิริยาทังสเตนออกไซด์บนตัวรองรับไทเทเนีย (WO3/TiO2) ตัวรองรับไทเทเนียได้รับการปรับสภาพด้วยสารละลายกรดกำมะถันที่มีความเข้มข้น 0.2 และ 0.5 โมล/ลิตร ทำการวิเคราะห์คุณลักษณะด้วยเทคนิคต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ SEM-EDX, BET, XRD และNH3-TPD ทำการทดสอบความสามารถในปฏิกิริยาการออกซิไดซ์โทลูอีนที่ความเข้มข้นของโทลูอีน 300-400 ppm และความเข้มข้นของออกซิเจน 3, 12 และ 21%vol ในช่วงอุณหภูมิ 150-450°C จากการศึกษาพบว่าที่ความเข้มข้นของออกซิเจนเท่ากัน ให้ Toluene conversion ที่ทัดเทียมกัน แต่ตรวจพบ CO2 ในปริมาณที่ต่ำ บ่งบอกว่าผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ได้จากการออกซิไดซ์น่าจะเป็นสารอินทรีย์ที่จุดเดือดสูง พลังงานกระตุ้นที่ปรากฏของปฏิกิริยาการออกซิไดซ์โทลูอีน สำหรับตัวเร่งปฏิกิริยาที่ไม่ได้รับและได้รับการปรับสภาพด้วยสารละลายกรดกำมะถัน 0.2 โมล/ลิตร พบว่าพลังงานกระตุ้นอยู่ในช่วง 36-45 kJ/mol แต่สำหรับตัวเร่งปฏิกิริยาที่ได้รับการปรับสภาพด้วยสารละลายกรดกำมะถัน 0.5 โมล/ลิตร พลังงานกระตุ้นอยู่ในช่วง 30-36 kJ/mol ซึ่งต่ำกว่าและเมื่อเปรียบเทียบผลการทดลองในสภาวะผู้ที่ทำก่อนหน้า ในสภาวะที่มี NO ร่วมนั้น มีการตรวจพบ CO2 อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ บ่งบอกว่าการเกิด CO2 นั้น น่าจะเป็นผลจากผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เกิดจากการออกซิไดซ์โทลูอีน โดยวัดปฏิกิริยาที่มี NO ร่วม มีปฏิกิริยาเกิดขึ้น 2 ปฏิกิริยาอย่างเด่นชัด คือ ช่วงอุณหภูมิ 150-250°C มีพลังงานกระตุ้นที่ต่ำและช่วงอุณหภูมิ 250°C ขึ้นไป ที่มีพลังงานกระตุ้น 56-72 kJ/mol

อิเล็กโทรดสังกะสีโครงสร้างสามมิติสำหรับแบตเตอรี่สังกะสี-อากาศทุติยภูมิ, จีราภรณ์ จักรโนวรรณ

ปัจจุบันแบตเตอรี่สังกะสี-อากาศได้รับความสนใจจากงานวิจัยเพิ่มมากขึ้น เนื่องจากแบตเตอรี่สังกะสี-อากาศมีความหนาแน่นของพลังงานสูง มีความปลอดภัย และราคาถูก อย่างไรก็ตามปัญหาหลักที่เกิดขึ้นของแบตเตอรี่สังกะสี-อากาศซึ่งพบในแบตเตอรี่ทุติยภูมิ พบว่าโครงสร้างและรูปร่างของขั้วไฟฟ้าสังกะสีมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงในระหว่างการอัดประจุและคายประจุ ในระหว่างการอัดประจุไฟฟ้าพบว่าอนุภาคของสังกะสีก่อตัวเป็นรูปร่างแบบกิ่งก้าน ซึ่งส่งผลทำให้เกิดการลัดวงจรของแบตเตอรี่ ในงานวิจัยนี้มุ้งเน้นที่จะใช้คาร์บอนสักหลาดเป็นตัวรองรับกระแส เพื่อสังเคราะห์ขั้วไฟฟ้าสังกะสีที่มีโครงสร้างสามมิติสำหรับแบตเตอรี่สังกะสี-อากาศแบบทุติยภูมิ ขั้วไฟฟ้าสังกะสีถูกเตรียมโดยการติดคาร์บอนสักหลาดลงบนแผ่นทองแดงด้วยสารยึกเกาะ โดยมีส่วนผสมคือ กราไฟต์ พอลิไวนิลลิดีนฟลูออไรด์ และผงคาร์บอน ในอัตราส่วน 87 : 10 : 3 โดยน้ำหนัก สมบัติทางไฟฟ้าเคมีของขั้วไฟฟ้าสังกะสีถูกศึกษาด้วยเทคนิคไซคลิกโวลแทมเมตทรี เทคนิคทาเฟลพาไรเซชัน และเทคนิคโครโนแอมเพอร์โรเมตทรี จากผลการทดสอบพบว่าการละลายและการชุบสังกะสีบนคาร์บอนสังหลาดถูกควบคุมด้วยการแพร่ สัญฐานวิทยาของสังกะสีบนคาร์บอนสักหลาดจากสารละลายอิเล็กโทรไลต์ซิงค์เคทพบว่ามีลักษณะคล้ายฟองน้ำเชื่อมต่อกันเป็นโครงข่ายทำให้มีพื้นที่ผิวของสังกะสีสูง และไม่ปรากฎสัญฐานวิทยาแบบกิ่งก้าน จากการศึกษาในระบบแบตเตอรี่สังกะสีอากาศพบว่าขั้วไฟฟ้าสังกะสีที่ใช้คาร์บอนสักหลาดหนา 3 มิลลิเมตร และคาร์บอนสักหลาดหนา 1 มิลลิเมตร เป็นตัวรองรับกระแส จะให้ค่าประสิทธิภาพการอัด-คายประจุร้อยละ 85 และ 83 ตามลำดับ มีค่าประสิทธิภาพการกักเก็บพลังงานต่อรอบการชารจ์ร้อยละ 37 และ 32 ตามลำดับ และมีค่าความจุกระแสไฟฟ้า 2.23 มิลลิแอมป์ชั่วโมง และ 2.22 มิลลิแอมป์ชั่วโมง ตามลำดับ ที่ความหนาแน่นกระแสไฟฟ้า 10 มิลลิแอมป์ต่อตารางเซนติเมตร โดยรวมแล้วพบว่าคาร์บอนสักหลาดหนา 3 มิลลิเมตร จะให้ประสิทธิภาพการใช้งานที่ดีกว่าคาร์บอนสักหลาดหนา 1 มิลลิเมตรเนื่องจากมีพื้นที่ผิวสัมผัสในการใช้งานที่มากกว่า และคาร์บอนสักหลาดเป็นวัสดุที่ให้ผลดีในการใช้งานสำหรับเป็นตัวรองรับกระแสสำหรับแบตเตอรี่สังกะสี-อากาศ
