This Improvement Science Dissertation in Practice evaluated the impact of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) on literacy achievement in a rural East Texas district. Following an initial evaluation, an instructional framework was collaboratively developed with teachers. Using mixed methods, the study analyzed teacher perceptions and student achievement data from NWEA MAP and STAAR assessments. Quantitative results indicated that grade levels with initial, higher rates of achievement compared to their peers, experienced weaker growth over time. Weaker MAP growth was also observed in STAAR tested grade levels, while students in K-1 exhibited statistically significant growth from fall to spring testing periods. Teacher …

Although the very concept of law school rankings is currently under fire, rankings abolitionism is misplaced. Given the number, diversity, and geographic dispersion of the more than 190 law schools fully ac­credited by the American Bar Association, rankings are essential to en­able various stakeholders to make comparisons between schools. How­ever, the current rankings landscape is dire. The U.S News law school rankings rely on poorly designed, highly subjective surveys to gauge "reputational strength," rather than looking to easily available, objec­tive citation data that is more valid and reliable. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) พัฒนาโปรแกรมการฝึกการคิดออกแบบโดยใช้แนวคิดการจัดการเรียนรวมร่วมกับแนวคิดการออกแบบการเรียนรู้ที่เป็นสากล (Universal Design for Learning: UDL) เพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะการคิดแก้ปัญหาอย่างสร้างสรรค์ของนักเรียนระดับประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย และ (2) ศึกษาพัฒนาการของนักเรียนภายหลังได้รับการฝึกด้วยโปรแกรมดังกล่าว กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ นักเรียนระดับประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย จำนวน 35 คน จากโรงเรียนแห่งหนึ่งในสังกัดกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม โดยใช้การเลือกแบบเจาะจง (purposive sampling) การวิจัยใช้รูปแบบทดลองแบบกลุ่มเดี่ยวหลายเส้นฐานข้ามบุคคล (Multiple-Baseline Single-Subject Design Across Individuals) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย (1) โปรแกรมการฝึกการคิดออกแบบ จำนวน 11 คาบ ซึ่งพัฒนาขึ้นตามกระบวนการ Design Thinking และออกแบบตามหลักการของ UDL ทั้งด้านการนำเสนอ (Representation) การแสดงออก (Action and Expression) และการมีส่วนร่วม (Engagement) และ (2) แบบวัดทักษะการคิดแก้ปัญหาอย่างสร้างสรรค์ที่ผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นักเรียนทั้ง 3 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ กลุ่มทั่วไป (Tier 1) กลุ่มเสี่ยง (Tier 2) และกลุ่มที่ต้องการความช่วยเหลือ (Tier 3) มีพัฒนาการด้านทักษะการคิดแก้ปัญหาอย่างสร้างสรรค์เพิ่มขึ้นหลังจากได้รับการฝึกด้วยโปรแกรม โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มนักเรียนที่มีความต้องการจำเป็นพิเศษ ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงพัฒนาการที่ชัดเจนมากขึ้น สะท้อนว่าโปรแกรมที่พัฒนาขึ้นสามารถส่งเสริมศักยภาพของผู้เรียนในบริบทห้องเรียนรวมได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อพัฒนาและตรวจสอบคุณภาพของภาระงานและเกณฑ์การประเมินสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษโดยใช้แฟ้มสะสมผลงานอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ 2) เพื่อพัฒนาและตรวจสอบคุณภาพของแฟ้มสะสมผลงานอิเล็กทรอนิกส์สำหรับการประเมินสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษ และ 3) เพื่อวิเคราะห์พัฒนาการด้านสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ตัวอย่างวิจัย คือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 โรงเรียนวังทองพิทยาคม จังหวัดพิษณุโลก จำนวน 60 คน ที่ได้มาโดยการสุ่มอย่างง่าย เครื่องมือวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) ภาระงานการประเมินสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษด้านทักษะการอ่าน ทักษะการฟัง ทักษะการเขียน และทักษะการพูด 2) เกณฑ์การให้คะแนนภาระงานด้านทักษะการอ่าน ด้านทักษะการฟัง ด้านทักษะการเขียน และด้านทักษะการพูด 3) เกณฑ์การประเมินแฟ้มสะสมผลงานอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ และ 4) แบบประเมินความพึงพอใจที่มีต่อ การประเมินสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษโดยใช้แฟ้มสะสมผลงานอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ดัชนี CVI ดัชนี ICC การวิเคราะห์ repeated measures MANOVA และทฤษฎีการสรุปอ้างอิงความน่าเชื่อถือในการวัด ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. ภาระงานการประเมินสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษมีคุณภาพในด้านความตรงเชิงเนื้อหา (CVI=0.80-1.00) และมีความเป็นคู่ขนานกัน (CVI = 0.80) ส่วนเกณฑ์การประเมินสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษมีคุณภาพในด้านความตรงเชิงเนื้อหา (CVI=0.60-1.00) และความเที่ยงระหว่างผู้ประเมิน (ICC=0.81-0.96) โดยภาระงานและเกณฑ์การประเมินมีลักษณะครอบคลุม 4 ทักษะทางภาษา ได้แก่ การฟัง การพูด การอ่าน และการเขียน และสามารถสะท้อนสมรรถนะการสื่อสารทั้งในด้านไวยากรณ์ การใช้ภาษาเพื่อการสื่อสาร ภาษาศาสตร์เชิงสังคม และกลวิธีการใช้ได้อย่างชัดเจน2. แฟ้มสะสมผลงานอิเล็กทรอนิกส์มีองค์ประกอบ 4 ส่วน ได้แก่ ส่วนนำ ส่วนเนื้อหา ส่วนการประเมินผลงาน และส่วนการนำเสนอผลงาน โดยแฟ้มสะสมผลงานอิเล็กทรอนิกส์สำหรับการประเมินสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษมีคุณภาพอยู่ในระดับดี (M = 8.02, SD = 1.40) และนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายมีความพึงพอใจอยู่ในระดับมาก (M = 4.48, SD = 0.51)3. นักเรียนมีพัฒนาการด้านสมรรถนะการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษด้านไวยากรณ์หรือโครงสร้าง ด้านการใช้ภาษาเพื่อ การสื่อสาร และด้านภาษาศาสตร์เชิงสังคม ส่วนด้านกลวิธีการใช้ ยังมีพัฒนาการไม่ชัดเจน …

This paper presents a concept of producing aluminum in-situ on the lunar surface, namely, the Lunar In-Situ Aluminum Production through Molten Salt Electrolysis (LISAP-MSE) method developed at Missouri University of Science and Technology. This paper aims to demonstrate the use of electro-deoxidation to reduce aluminum oxide (i.e., alumina) into aluminum and oxygen gas via electrolysis in a molten salt bath for the production of aluminum on the Moon. It is shown that with a steady supply of hydrogen chloride, this in-situ resource utilization (ISRU) method could supply several necessary materials consumed in the electro-deoxidation process except hydrogen chloride to produce …

The education system in Bangladesh has undergone significant change since the country’s independence from Pakistan in 1971. In 1973 the community-sponsored school system, in which communities felt a moral obligation to take an active role in schools, was transformed into a centralised national system. MRSA poses a significant health risk to athletes nationwide. This case study examines the application of an online training module to address knowledge gaps regarding Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) among key decision-makers for high school athletes. It reviews the development and initial evaluation of a web-based training program designed to empower decision-makers with the knowledge to prevent MRSA infection and respond to suspected cases. Program evaluation recommended expanding the training module to wrestling staff with improved evaluation methods while continuing implementation and effectiveness assessment for the football staff. Purpose: Understanding the experiences of families of children with developmental language disorder (DLD) during COVID-19 educational disruptions is essential for designing responsive supports during pandemic recovery efforts and beyond. This qualitative study describes the experiences of families of first-and second-grade children with DLD during the pandemic as compared to the experiences of families of typically developing (TD) peers.

Guided by the learning ecology framework, we conducted concurrent mixed methods research by distributing an online survey to Chinese students (N=51) to collect quantitative and qualitative data. This Improvement Science Dissertation in Practice investigated the impact of professional development with coaching support on a novice teacher’s self-efficacy, with the goal of improving novice teacher retention in an urban district. In Phase 1 of this study, the researcher determined that the problem of practice, novice teacher attrition, impacted students’ academic and behavioral outcomes. In Phase 2, the researcher offered a six-module professional development course, in-person and online, that included classroom management strategies for teachers in their first year of employment. Specifically, it sought to provide Tier I trauma-informed and restorative practice classroom management strategies through coaching cycles to reduce classroom disruptions and provide education on better managing challenging student behaviors. Primary and secondary education systems experienced substantial disruption during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, little is known about how public health policy has affected Australian teachers during the pandemic. This study examines teacher perspectives on a sudden change of policy, whereby schools were abruptly opened to students at the beginning of the pandemic. At the same time, strict social distancing rules applied to the remainder of the population. Qualitative data from 372 Western Australian schoolteachers were analysed using thematic analysis. High teachers’ expectations are associated with improved student academic achievement. However, no research explains how students experience their teachers’ expectations, from their points of view. A new theory was developed to achieve the study’s aim of accounting for how high expectations were experienced by 25 students in Western Australia. The findings offer educators student-focused perspectives of how to convey high teacher expectations that lead to improved student academic outcomes. The benefits of reading for pleasure are diverse. As evidence supporting the value of reading for pleasure grows, so does its legitimacy as a catalyst for positive personal and cognitive development, and as a stand-alone subject in education. Reading for pleasure pedagogy (RfPP), distinct from reading instruction, is evolving in tandem with these findings. This pedagogy is predicated on the profile of a Reading Teacher (RT) as a reader who enjoys reading and is prepared to share their personal reading lives to teach their students to read for pleasure. Standardized testing of academic knowledge is common in many developed countries. In Australia, the process implemented is the National Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). The stand-alone tests were introduced in 2008 for several educational and political reasons, and since that time, the results of this assessment have been used beyond their initial purpose and brought about an unintended consequence of making the tests high-stakes. While various self-administered instruments measure reflective practice, the Reflective Practice Questionnaire (RPQ) can be used across multiple professions. We evaluated the Japanese version of the 10-item Reflective Practice Questionnaire (RPQ-10-J). In Study 1, 300 Japanese interpersonal assistance professionals were surveyed, and the RPQ-10-J was found to conform to a single factor via confirmatory factor analysis. We also found evidence of high internal consistency and adequate test-re-test reliability. High internal consistency was replicated in Study 2.
