Attitudes Of Elementary Classroom Teachers Toward Physical Educators And Physical Education, Jodeen Thomas
Graduate Theses
Elementary classroom teachers, who were members of the Texas Classroom Teachers Association, were surveyed regarding their opinions and beliefs toward elementary physical education specialists and elementary physical education programs. A total of 122 surveys were used in the results from a mailing of 500. Classroom teachers ranked professional positions in the elementary setting from most important (1) to least important (11). The Initial Work And Education Experiences Of Early School Leavers: A Comparative Study Of Australia And The United States, Stephen Lamb, Russell Rumberger
LSAY Research Reports
This study examines the experiences of early school leavers from the United States and Australia in the first two years beyond secondary school. The results of the study indicate that similar percentages of students left school early in the United States and Australia - 21 percent in the United States and 22 percent in Australia. In both countries the study indicated that school leaving rates were substantially higher for students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, for students attending public and government school, and for students with low achievement levels. Rater Training To Improve Student Evaluations Of Teaching Effectiveness, Robert Beeler
Rater Training To Improve Student Evaluations Of Teaching Effectiveness, Robert Beeler
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
The impact of rater training on students performing evaluations of teaching effectiveness was evaluated. Training was administered either via live lecture or video tape. Both trained groups were compared with a no training control group. It was hypothesized that the training would result in more accurate assessments of teaching evaluations and that there would be no significant differences between either of the trained groups. Results showed that students were able to distinguish between dimensions of performance. However, no effects of training were found. The trained groups did not differ significantly from the untrained control group on instructor ratings.
