Distributive education is a nation-wide training program designed to prepare workers for more effective distribution of goods and services through programs of instruction at both the adult and secondary levels.1 Reimbursable distributive education was initiated in Iowa in 1937. In 1958 Iowa had twenty-four high school cooperative part-time programs and ten adult programs in operation.

One of the greatest advances in reoent years in the area of student health, in both the elementary and secondary schools of our nation. has been the development of the school lunch program. The impetus for this program in the United States came during the year 1933 when the Federal Emergency Relief Administration authorized relief funds for the feeding of school children. At that time many schools throughout the country began serving a hot dish--sometimes a bowl of soup to be eaten with the student's home-packed lunch. By 1934 there were approximately 300,000 school children being served at school.

When prices change significantly, conventional accounting reports tend to become inaccurate and misleading. Those who use the reports are likely to be misled. Santa Fe had always been the commercial center of northern New Mexico, but after the republic of 1821 succeeded the viceroyalty, trade in that area began to build up. From an annual value of $15,000 in 1831 to about $1,750,000 in 1846, this overland trade eventually developed its own historical heritage and became known as the “Santa Fe Trade.” Since under the new administration merchants were permitted to bring their merchandise from the east, the effort involved in supporting this tremendous supply system became significant in itself, employing over 5,000 men, 1,500 wagons, and more than 17,200 horses, mules, and …

The purpose of thin study was to develop a plan for inservice education for the graduate nurse staff in a small maternity unit that would encourage optimum nursing care.

A questionnaire was prepared and given to those nurses who had been employed in the maternity unit during the sixteen month period prior to the date of mailing the questionnaire.

The responses from the nurses showed that they would welcome an inservice education plan that would provide an improved orientation program and meetings for discussion to foster self improvement and better patient care. Critical incidents reported by the nurses showed the …

It was the purpose of this study to consider four phases of the nature of the learning experiences of students of nursing in the operating room. The phases of the problem studied were: (1) Are the learning experiences "new" or "an expansion and/or clarification of previous learnings?" (2) Do new learning experiences continue throughout the clinical assignment to the operating room? (3) Are the learning experiences concentrated in some areas of learning more than in others? This thesis examines the production planning and control system in a job-order die casting plant. After comparing to the criteria for an ideal system the following changes were recommended.

1. Central work storage and dispatching. This would reduce work in process and workload fluctuations through closer planning. It would also provide a perpetual inventory system and a central control point which would be constantly informed of production progress.

2. Operator trucking. By having operators do their own trucking material handling costs and production delays would be reduced.
