An essential factor in the evaluation of the effectiveness of a distributive education curriculum is a determination of what is being done in the area of distribution and of what the graduates do after they leave, the distributive education curriculum.

No longer can distributive educators depend on what they think is being done or on what was done at some time in the past. A major objective of distributive education is the preparation of students for gainful employment in the area of distribution in business, and this preparation is greatly affected by changes that occur in the business world.

The number of consortia in American higher education expanded rapidly from only ten in 1960 to eighty in 1973. Many do not have an organized method of developing interinstitutional cooperation, structuring their internal management, or preparing to meet future expansion.

The design of an organizational process appropriate to consortia in general has been developed in this thesis. An electric utility constantly builds, reinforces, and repairs electric distribution facilities. The material and labor used to accomplish this construction is expensive. Money in sufficient amounts is seldom, if ever, available to finance all proposed construction projects. An Application Of Organizational Development In An Institution Of Higher Learning, Stanford R. Bohne

An action research model was used to assess the application of Organizational Development theory, strategies, and interventions in the Business and Financial Affairs area of an institution of higher learning. Initial assessment indicated that a group of seven top managers of Business and Financial Affairs had low morale, a low trust level, lack of clarity of goals, and lack of teamwork. Results suggested that significant increases had occurred over the last 34-month period on measures of group development. It was concluded that such strategies merit further application and evaluation.

The purposes of this study were: (1) to develop Audio-Visual-Tutorial (AVT) materials to supplement the teaching of Accounting I at the community college level and (2) to compare the results obtained in an experimental group using two units of AVT materials with a control group attending regular lecture sessions.

The AVT slide and tape presentation was developed during the spring and summer of 1971. This study presents an analysis of the competitive process in banking in Iowa. The analysis is accomplished by developing and testing an extension of a statistical model originally introduced by Bernard Shull. This model describes the commercial bank as a multiple-product, price-discriminating firm set in an environment of monopolistic competition. The model is estimated across time using pooled data for the years 1967 through 1971. No previous study on this subject has attempted the use of pooled time series and cross sectional data. Casey, the past Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and recently appointed Under Secretary of State and Economic Affairs, forecasting should be the first and most important priority of all areas of management and public accounting. Only large institutional investment corporations have had access to such "useful" information when needed. Consequently, large investors are able to make more objective and intelligent investment decisions. A recent study determined that few investment corporations veritably have access to pertinent internal forecasting models. The changing concept of the uses of the typewriter has had an enormous effect on the teaching of typewriting. In addition to the vocational objective, the personal-use objective has been added. Personal-use typewriting has as its goal the material that the student is likely to typewrite for himself; vocational typewriting is focused on what others want typed for them. The distinguishing characteristic in teaching the two is therefore not the skill accomplishment so much as the kind of material involved (13).
