After World War II, Greece faced economic struggles which led to its EU accession in 1981. In the following years, the use of credit increased and so did consumer debt. The global financial crisis of 2008 exposed Greece’s weak economy and caused the debt crisis. This led to multiple EU-IMF (International Monetary Fund) bailouts. This study examines how the crisis affected Greek citizens’ quality of life. This study specifically focuses on mental, physical, and socioeconomic health. This paper redefines the understanding of venture scaling in emerging and developing countries through a longitudinal case study of over a decade of transformative growth by Gojek, a local venture in Indonesia. Contrary to the replication logic common among global players—which prioritizes rapid and broader market opportunity expansion using a single, proven business model—Gojek adopted a more incremental and depth-oriented approach. This study explores how the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) can be used to value small businesses by applying to model to IPO data. Small businesses differ greatly from the publicly traded companies WACC is normally used for, so using the model presents some challenges. By applying the model to small firms that underwent the initial public offering process, this study was able to determine that WACC may be a useful valuation tool if some adjustments are made for the industries being analyzed.

This investigation will leverage participant focus group interviews with 32 clinicians (16 nurses / 16 physicians) to study what, if anything, is inhibiting AI adoption across the hospital. Specific physicians will be sourced across the key service lines of primary care, oncology, cardiology, behavioral health, and emergency department medicine, as these tend to be patient volume driven and thus have the maximum amount of potential for positive impact leveraging AI. Nurses in these same departments will be assessed to analyze if there is a similarity or difference between the nursing and physician AI adoption barriers.

Wealth management firms have failed to produce meaningful organic growth in the years leading up to the early 2020s; treading water with average growth of 3-4% (Sharry, 2024), while client assets grew 19% during that same period (Dai et al., 2023). This study examined the organizational, operational, and financial characteristics of rural critical access, rural non-critical access, and urban hospitals. The objective was to assess hospital capital spending, an important indicator of financial reinvestment within an organization.

In 2022, critical access hospitals allocated 6.2% of total expenses to capital spending, compared to 5.8% for rural non-critical access and 6.5% for urban. In 2011, these figures were 8.4%, 7.2%, and 7.2%, respectively. Regression-adjusted results revealed that from 2011 to 2022, each additional year contributed to a 2.6% decrease in capital expenses relative to total expenses across all hospitals.
