The Economic Impacts Of Forest Timber Methods In Washington State: A Hedonic Approach, Kaleb Javier

Washington State is one of the nation’s leaders in timber production. This paper establishes literature gap regarding the economic impacts of forest timber management methods. In this research, I employ a data set of 170,141 home sales across eleven counties of western Washington to estimate the impact that even-age and uneven-age forest cutting methods have on the local real-estate market. I estimate two sets of hedonic fixed effect regression models to control for omitted variable bias and spatial autocorrelation. The results show statistically significant impacts on property values for both cutting methods, adding important information for forest managers.

This study investigates the effect of management incentives (directive and transparency) and locus of causality (internal and external) on the willingness of managers to disclose management earnings forecast reports and the accuracy of management's earnings forecast information. The experimental findings show that managers with directive incentives are less likely to disclose the earnings forecast and provide less accurate information to market participants than managers with transparency incentives, for both point and range forecast forms. In addition, locus of causality contributes to the accuracy of management earnings forecast information when the forecasts suggest underperformance, but the findings reveal no significant differences …

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ของการขนส่งสินค้าด้วยตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ขนาด 12 ฟุต ในประเทศไทย ซึ่งจะทำการศึกษาการขนส่งสินค้าอุปโภคบริโภค (อาหารแห้ง ซอสปรุงรส ของใช้ส่วนตัวและสินค้าเบ็ดเตล็ดทั่วไป) ภายในประเทศไทย โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อลดต้นทุนการดำเนินงานและลดระยะเวลาในกระบวนการทำงาน ซึ่งจะสามารถช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิการทำงานและโอกาสทางการแข่งขันทางธุรกิจของของผู้ให้บริการขนส่งสินค้าภายในประเทศได้
วิธีการดำเนินการวิจัยประกอบด้วยขั้นตอน 1. ทบทวนวรรณกรรมเพื่อศึกษาคุณสมบัติของตู้คอนเทนเนอร์และการนำมาประยุกต์ใช้ในการขนส่งสินค้า 2. การสัมภาษณ์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ ทำให้ทราบถึงเหตุผล ความคิดเห็นในการนำตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ขนาด 12 ฟุต มาใช้ ทั้งในประเทศไทยและประเทศญี่ปุ่น 3. สำรวจข้อมูลของผู้ให้บริการขนส่งสินค้าอุปโภคบริโภคทางถนนที่เป็นกรณีศึกษา โดยได้รวบรวมข้อมูลข้อมูลเวลาการปฏิบัติงานจริงในกิจกรรม การคัดแยก การจัดเรียง การจัดเส้นทางขนส่งและการขนถ่ายสินค้า รวมถึงการรวบรวมข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับต้นทุนคงที่ ต้นทุนแปรผันและต้นทุนดำเนินงานทั้งหมด ต่อจากนั้นนำข้อมูลที่รวบรวมได้มาคาดคะเนต้นทุนที่เกิดขึ้นหากนำตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ขนาด 12 ฟุตมาใช้ เทียบกับต้นทุนที่เกิดขึ้นในกรณีที่ไม่ใช้ตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ขนาด 12 ฟุต ด้วยการจำลองการดำเนินงานภายใต้ปริมาณและสถานการณ์ขนส่งสินค้าที่เกิดขึ้นจริงในช่วงวันที่ 1ตุลาคม 2560 ถึงวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 2560
ผลการเปรียบเทียบต้นทุนแสดงให้เห็นว่า การใช้ตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ 12 ฟุตจะช่วยลดระยะเวลาในการขนถ่ายสินค้า เพราะไม่ต้องเสียเวลานำสินค้าออกมาจากรถขนส่งขนาดใหญ่มาถ่ายลงรถขนส่งขนาดเล็กที่ศูนย์กระจายสินค้าปลายทาง ทำให้รถขนส่งสามารถทำรอบการขนส่งได้มากขึ้น อย่างไรก็ดี เนื่องจากความจำเป็นที่จะต้องลงทุนในตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ 12 ฟุต ความคุ้มคา่ในการใช้ตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ประเภทนี้จึงขึ้นอยู่กับความสามารถในการใช้ประโยชน์จากความจุของตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ (Utilization) ซึ่งต้องอาศัยการจัดเส้นทางขนส่งที่ดีและปริมาณสินค้าที่มากพอในระดับหนึ่ง อนึ่ง ความคุ้มค่าในการใช้ตู้คอนเทนเนอร์ 12 ฟุตจะมากขึ้นตามการเพิ่มขึ้นของค่าแรง

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาเปรียบเทียบและวิเคราะห์ ความคิดเห็นของผู้เชี่ยวชาญที่มีต่อรายงานการประเมินผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมกับมาตราฐาน ระเบียบและกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการรื้อถอนการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียมตลอดจนเสนอแนะแนวทางที่เหมาะสมต่อการรื้อถอนและการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียม โดยศึกษาจากกรณีศึกษาการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียม ลีเวค อรุโณทัย โดยงานวิจัยนี้ใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียมจำนวน 20 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาแสดงผลในรูปแบบอัตราร้อยละเพื่อทดสอบขั้้นตอนและวิเคราะห์โดยการเปรียบเทียบระหว่างความคิดเห็นของผู้เชี่ยวชาญกับมาตราฐาน ระเบียบและกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการรื้อถอนการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียม ผลการศึกษาพบว่า (1) ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียมเห็นด้วยกับรายงานการประเมินผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมจากการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียมและ (2) รายงานการประเมินผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมจากการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียม กรณีศึกษาการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียม ลีเวค อรุโณทัย เป็นแนวทางการปลดระวางเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียมที่เหมาะสมและสอดคล้องตามกฎหมายภายในประเทศและต่างประเทศที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการรื้อถอนสิ่งติดตั้ง ทั้งนี้ผลการศึกษาสามารถนำมาจัดทำแนวทางปฏิบัติในการรื้อถอนเรือกักเก็บและผลิตปิโตรเลียมที่เหมาะสมในอนาคตอันจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อหน่วยงานภาครัฐและเอกชนที่เกี่ยวข้องสืบไป

Although there is growing evidence that gratitude facilitates improved relationships, organizational scholars have largely ignored the importance of gratitude in the workplace. What little we know indicates that expressions of gratitude in organizations may be rare. This paper uses the multiple regression to research the political connection effect in the state-owned enterprise. It has been found that the political connection can significantly enhance state-owned enterprises' performance. Moreover, the same administration level between state-owned enterprises' actual controller and CEO/Chairman would enhance ROA and ROE. Additionally, as the proportion of political connection members increases, the ROA will be promoted. The political connection has same impact on the industries with more governmental control and the industries with less governmental control. This paper extend a limit order book model of security trading from Goettler, et al. (2005) by adding a dark pool which does not publicly display trading orders. This model is a sequential game with risk-neutral traders. We use a stochastic algorithm followed by Pakes and McGuire (2001) to solve a Markov-perfect equilibrium as the optimal action of a trader. We find that when added a dark pool, market quality worsens (market depth declines and bid-ask spread widen), and total fill rate decreases. This research studies the importance of plan members' heterogeneity to the management of defined benefit (DB) pension fund. We propose a new multi-member model of DB pension fund that allows for heterogeneity in plan members' retirement ages, salary growths, and other characteristics. We first solve analytically for optimal management strategy and show that the sponsor's supplementary contribution and the fund's allocation in risky assets are determined by the cross-product between the fund's expected retirement liabilities and some heterogeneity-adjusted discount factors.
