JOHNSON CITY (Sept. 19, 2022) – East Tennessee State University’s Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement has announced its inaugural event ETSU Together, an interdepartmental program celebrating the International Day of Peace, which will be observed Wednesday, Sept. 21.

CHICAGO (Sept. 14, 2022) —Today, NORC at the University of Chicago, East Tennessee State University (ETSU), and the Fletcher Group, Inc. released a mapping tool that enables users to measure the strength of substance use recovery ecosystems for every county in the United States and explore associations with overdose deaths and other sociodemographic and economic factors. The term “recovery ecosystem” is used to describe the factors in a community that support individuals in recovery from substance use disorder.

JOHNSON CITY (September 14, 2022) – For the first time in its eight-year history, East Tennessee State University’s Center of Excellence in Inflammation, Infectious Disease and Immunity (CIIDI) has a physical presence to call its own.

Examining The Factors Influencing Tourists’ Destination: A Case Of Nanhai Movie Theme Park In China, Liting Zhou, Fei Ouyang, Yang Li, Jieling Zhan, Nadeem Akhtar, Muhammad Ittefaq

The present study used a stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) theoretical framework to examine the relationship between theme park tourists’ experience, brand identity, brand satisfaction, and brand loyalty in China. By using the structural equation model (CB-SEM), this paper illustrates the process of forming destination brand loyalty for sustainable tourism on theme parks. The results suggested a second-order structure of tourism experience. The first-order four factors have different impacts on the second-order tourism experience. Activity experience is the most important factor influencing tourism experience, followed by environment experience, then facility experience, and finally interaction experience. This study focused on developing a new conceptual model of consumers’ perceptions of – and behaviours towards – masstige brands based on consumer-brand relationship and brand equity theory, which was then applied using quantitative data analysis. The research model facilitated an exploration of how important brand love, co-creation and need for uniqueness are as masstige brand antecedents and of whether brand happiness, brand loyalty and electronic word of mouth are outcomes. JOHNSON CITY (Sept. 13, 2022) – East Tennessee State University is taking the lead in establishing the first recovery community center in the Northeast Tennessee region.
The Johnson City Recovery Center (JCRC) was proposed by Dr. Dorothy “Dottie” Greene, associate professor of social work and graduate coordinator for Addiction Counseling Studies, and will be guided by an advisory board with membership from throughout the region.

The start of the fall 2022 semester marks year number three for the school’s Overwatch and League of Legends teams, as well as the second year for Rocket League, which kicked off its inaugural season in fall 2021. This month, U.S. News & World Report released its 2022-2023 report, a sweeping summary on a range of data from 1,500 colleges across the United States.

Officials at East Tennessee State University received a glowing report card for the university today, with leaders announcing that new student enrollment, graduation rates and employee satisfaction are all at historic highs.
During a quarterly meeting of the university's Board of Trustees, ETSU administrators shared final enrollment numbers for the fall 2022 semester. The university is celebrating its largest incoming class in a decade at 2,056 students — a 25% increase in the past two years. JOHNSON CITY — East Tennessee State University’s Alliance for Continued Learning (ACL) will offer a wide range of classes and activities beginning Tuesday, Sept. 20, and concluding on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Classes will meet from 10 a.m. to noon each Tuesday and Thursday in the upstairs conference room at Food City, 940 N. State of Franklin Rd. in Johnson City.
Sponsored by ETSU’s Office of Professional Development, the ACL is a “member-powered, member-driven and member-governed” organization devoted to providing lifelong learning experiences in a stimulating atmosphere.
