The intent of this thesis is to help those with Music Performance Anxiety, or anxiety in general, better understand their anxiety and its causes. They can then use this knowledge to reduce or control their symptoms in order to improve their performance, whether on a stage or in a classroom. One of the main symptoms of Music Performance Anxiety is constriction of the chest. It is one of the most debilitating symptoms to singers as it causes shortness of breath. Music & Media: A Senior Recital & Honors Project is a cross-media marketing strategy. The main purpose of this project was to develop visually appealing, informative graphic elements and branding to effectively promote a musical performance. This is interdisciplinary in nature and includes written and oral communication.

While many music students post about their senior recital on social media or place flyers, they do not develop a thorough methodology for generating buzz about their event. Although musical preparation is of utmost importance for a performance, I believe that time should be spent on all aspects of planning the recital. With …

The purpose of this research study was to figure out what reasons cause two of Hip Hop’s biggest artists to be received so differently. Jay-Z and Kanye West are both two very successful African American music businessmen that participate in similar endeavors. Both have dabbled in clothing and shoes, while each has started their respective record labels. A significant factor in their reception was their social upbringing. In order to further assess what contributes to each artist’s popularity, or lack thereof, responses from the American media and the African American community are analyzed.

Guppy is a new power pop album by the band Charly Bliss. It's fast-paced and stylized with the punchy, angsty feelings of youth culture led by a quirky yet charismatic female vocal lead that sets a perfect scene for the music's direction. While not an overwhelming or anthemic record, the album's title Guppy serves it well as the beginnings of a small band with a bright future.
