Usages De L’Application Mobile Whatsapp Et Mutations Radiophoniques En Afrique, Henri Assogba

Présence Francophone: Revue internationale de langue et de littérature

Several radio stations on the African continent have been using or experimenting in recent years with the WhatsApp mobile application to gather and disseminate information. Knowing that voice exchange functionalities without the costs associated with conventional telephony are among those preferred by WhatsApp users in Africa, this study analyzes these uses of WhatsApp in relation to changes in the production and dissemination of radio content. The study is an illustration of the hybridization of the media system and shows that “traditional” mobile telephony is still popular with listeners in their on-air interventions.

Fact-checking has become an increasingly important practice, especially with the birth of the internet and social media. In Tunisia, the context of the 2019 presidential and legislative elections saw the birth of the Tunisia Check News platform managed by the Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication, with the collaboration of the public media. In this article, we present the context of the emergence of this platform within the community of Tunisian journalists. The “gypsy” figure has been popular in popular culture for hundreds of years – certainly since the 1600s. The figure can embody wanderlust, difference, bold sexuality, freedom, danger, and criminality. In 19th-century France, the figure’s trendiness was apparent in literature. Writers such as Victor Hugo, George Sand, Charles Nodier, and Prosper Mérimée profited from using these figures in writing. Most criticism of these works focuses on the origins of the tales or critical analyses of the narratives themselves. This article uses ecofeminism to study the status of women in French, Spanish and Portuguese speaking African countries. Taking Mongo Beti’s character, Perpetua, as an archetype, it demonstrates that women are subjected to a twofold domination that associates them with nature. Since the ideology of capitalism and progress that underlies African modernity views nature as dead matters to be conquered and exploited, it also rationalizes the oppression of women. Indeed, the reification of nature results in the social representation of women’s body as the repressible Other, a production tool and as exploitable resources.

As he recalls in his novel Ville cruelle, colonial prerogatives have impacted urban planning and the environment. The suffering of the black body has reclaimed center-stage in the media galaxy thanks to the Black Lives Matter phenomenon, a movement that lives on social media. In this contribution, I argue that despite its ephemeral nature, Black Lives Matter proceeds from a long tradition of black activism. Locating the current reincarnation of the long struggle for black human rights leads us to the trope of metaphors of slavery that captures the materiality of the black suffering body. Decoloniality is a concept coined by Walter Mignolo to fight against the invasion of the euro-American imaginary in the rest of the world that Anibal Quijano calls coloniality. Thus designed by the Modernity/Coloniality/Decoloniality research group to answer the vast question raised by globalization to the universal consciousness ; questioning centered on the conditions for re-socialization and a new humanization, the theory of decoloniality is determined as a philosophy of liberation based on epistemic disobedience. This article examines the relationship between invention and reality in Boubacar Boris Diop’s novel, Kaveena (2006). The author intertwines the postcolonial story of a fictional African country with that of the real history of the continent. The fictional city of Maren and the region of Nimba are described in relation to Cameroun, Rwanda and Sierra Leone, among other concrete locations. Invented characters and those known by the reader (Patrice Lumumba, Idi Amin, etc.) both occupy space in the text. Among the first in this early literary series, Force-Bonté (1926) by Bakary Diallo was tainted from the start because it was associated with Lucie Cousturier. This study analyzes the writing of crises in African novels and makes following observation: the novels listed do not represent crises and ruptures to obey a need for mimicry and authenticity in the representation through the art of real violence. The main objective of these novels by staging African crises and violence is rather to reflect a tension: that of a charged present situation, a real historical or imaginary crisis, and the equally important situation of a genesis, a new beginning, the terms of which sometimes remain to be defined.
