This collection consists of the research files of Patrick Novotny, Professor of Political Science at Georgia Southern University. Materials include booklets, leaflets, newspaper articles, journal articles, and other published materials from 1929-2001. Subjects include environmental justice, 20th century Georgia politics, civil rights, and race relations.

The Patrick Novotny papers formerly consisted of three separate collections titled “Patrick Novotny: Where We Live, Work, and Play, Research Materials, 1973-1979,”“20th Century Georgia Politics Research Materials,” and “Contemporary Sources on the case of U.S. vs. Darby Lumber Co.” Each former collection is now listed as a series here.

The collection consists of the Charles E. Cone Realty Company records from 1926 to 1957 the bulk of which cover the post-war period under ownership of Robert Moore Benson. Materials include correspondence, real estate agreements, plats, and maps of Statesboro, Georgia. Additional documents pertaining to the Charles E. Cone Insurance Company and the Benson Insurance Company are also included which contain information about rates, community committees, and soil conservation regions.

Community of inquiry is a ''whole" pedagogy, in that it recognizes the systemic nature of group process, the congruence of personal and social systems, and the identity-in-difference of thought and feeling, self and other, and individual and group. Above all it recognizes the fundamental urge-however tortuous and conflicted in its outworking-of both individual and social systems for self-actualizing transformation; for the chaotic passage to higher, both more inclusive and more diversified, levels of integration.
