This research presents a comprehensive investigation of the global stability of cellular steel columns, beam-columns, and frames. For the cellular steel columns, the existing equation for predicting the elastic buckling load is improved to account for the local bending deformation of the web posts. Subsequently, the column strength equation is analytically developed from the energy approach. This thesis seeks to develop an optimal design methodology for 3D-printed prefabricated concrete panels. Although 3D-printed precast panels are advantageous for producing flexible forms, reducing workforce demand, and minimizing environmental impacts, the product must not be too heavy to transport and install. Therefore, the consideration of weight emphasizes the need for structural optimization. The use of infill structures is widespread in additive manufacturing applications, offering porous domains that are well-suited for withstanding various physical loadings. This thesis introduces a novel approach, namely Proportional Topology Optimization (PTO), leveraging an automatic image-based quadtree Scaled Boundary Finite Element (SBFE) framework. The SBFE, where sub-domains are treated as polygonal elements in 2D, is employed to address the hanging node issue. ในปัจจุบัน มีการพัฒนาด้านโครงทางพื้นฐานทางรางในประเทศไทยมีการขยายตัวเพิ่มมากขึ้นเพื่อรองรับการขยายตัวของการขนส่งทางราง โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเพิ่มความจุ ลดระยะเวลาในการเดินทาง และลดต้นทุนโลจิสติกส์ โครงสร้างทางรถไฟแบบมีชั้นหินโรยทางเป็นโครงสร้างที่ไม่ซับซ้อนในการก่อสร้างและต้นทุนการก่อสร้างต่ำจึงถูกใช้เป็นโครงสร้างหลักกระจายตัวอยู่ทั่วประเทศ สิ่งที่สำคัญที่ส่งผลต่อสภาพทางรถไฟคือผลจากสิ่งแวดล้อมภายนอก โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งผลที่ตามมาจากความร้อนอันเนื่องมาจากภาวะโลกร้อน เมื่ออุณหภูมิโดยรอบสูงขึ้น เหล็กที่เป็นวัสดุของรางรถไฟจะดูดซับความร้อน ซึ่งส่งผลให้อุณหภูมิภายในรางรถไฟชนิดเชื่อมต่อเนื่องเกิดความเค้นเพิ่มขึ้นและอาจเกิดการโก่งเดาะได้ ในงานวิจัยฉบับนี้จึงได้ทำการวิเคราะห์อุณหภูมิโก่งเดาะด้วยวิธีวิเคราะห์แบบไม่เชิงเส้น โดยการจำลองโครงสร้างทางรถไฟแบบมีชั้นหินโรยทางบริเวณทางโค้งด้วยระเบียบวิธีไฟไนต์เอลิเมนต์แบบ 3 มิติ ด้วยโปรแกรม Ansys LS-DYNA ในการวิเคราะห์นั้นได้ศึกษาตัวแปรที่ส่งผลต่อความต้านทานการโก่งเดาะ ได้แก่ ขนาดของรัศมีความโค้งของโครงสร้างทางรถไฟ, ความต้านทานทางด้านข้าง, การยกโค้ง, การเสียแนวทางรถไฟ และความเร็วของรถไฟ เป็นต้น ผลลัพธ์จากการวิจัยนี้ได้แก่ อุณหภูมิโก่งเดาะของทางรถไฟที่สภาวะต่าง ๆ จากการศึกษาพบว่า ยิ่งรัศมีความโค้ง, ความต้านทานทางด้านข้าง และการยกโค้งมีค่าลดลง หรือขนาดของการเสียแนวทางรถไฟมีค่ามาก อุณหภูมิที่เกิดการโก่งเดาะจะมีค่าที่ลดลงตามลงไป และในช่วงที่อุณหภูมิสูงรถไฟควรวิ่งด้วยความเร็วไม่เกินค่าความเร็วสมดุล โดยผลการศึกษาที่ได้จะช่วยพัฒนาแนวทางการซ่อมบำรุง ปรับสภาพโครงสร้างทางรถไฟให้มีประสิทธิภาพเพื่อป้องกันการเกิดการโก่งเดาะ และป้องกันปัญหาที่อาจเกิดขึ้นต่อโครงสร้างทางรถไฟในอนาคต

Numerous studies have concentrated on developing user-centered designs for hazard zone maps but rarely for hazard-oriented geomorphological maps, named as Geomorphological Hazard Thematic Maps (GHTMs) in this study, which provide more detailed information about natural hazards. This study developed a user-centered mapping design for GHTMs for nonexperts in geomorphology. We invited civil engineers and high school educators to evaluate a sample GHTM's design in group and focus group panel interviews. The civil engineers preferred maps with more geomorphological features, whereas the educators preferred simple designs. Bioretention, also referred to as a stormwater biofilter, is an extensively used low-impact development technology for both stormwater management and water quality gains. However, little attention has been paid to the acceptability and uncertainty of human health risks associated with the treatment performance of bioretention filter media, and non-potable water reuse scenarios to guide decision-making and system design. This study aims to estimate the effectiveness of incentives in increasing the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) among households in the near future. Five scenarios were tested using a vehicle type choice model estimated from the 2017 National Household Travel Survey (NHTS) data: (1) increasing the number of EV chargers, (2) reducing the purchase price of EVs based on household income, (3) increasing the number of EV models and makes, (4) increasing the EV range, and (5) all scenarios at once.
