การเพิ่มขึ้นของอุณหภูมิโลกที่เพิ่มขึ้นในทุกปี อันเนื่องมาจากภาวะโลกร้อน มีผลกระทบสำคัญต่อรางรถไฟ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในฤดูร้อน เมื่ออุณหภูมิสูงขึ้น เหล็กที่เป็นวัสดุของรางรถไฟจะดูดซับความร้อน ซึ่งส่งผลให้รางรถไฟขยายตัว ทำให้เกิดการเคลื่อนที่ทางด้านข้าง และเกิดการโก่งเดาะ ซึ่งนำไปสู่การตกรางของรถไฟได้ในที่สุด ในงานวิจัยฉบับมุ่งเน้นจะไปที่การเคลื่อนตัวทางด้านข้างของหมอนรองรางรถไฟ โดยศึกษาการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการต้านการเคลื่อนที่ทางด้านข้าง เมื่อเปลี่ยนสภาพของใต้หมอนรองรางรถไฟ และทำการประยุกต์ใช้แผ่นยางรองหมอนรองรางรถไฟ กับโครงสร้างทางรถไฟแบบมีชั้นหินโรยทาง ซึ่งแผ่นยางมีจุดเด่นสำหรับการลดการสั่นสะเทือนต่อชั้นหินโรยทางและกระจายแรงสู่ชั้นหินโรยทาง ในส่วนของประสิทธิภาพในการรับแรงทางด้านข้างนั้นยังไม่มีการศึกษามากเท่าที่ควร และทำการจำลองสภาวะที่ใต้หมอนรองรางมีพื้นผิวขรุขระ รวมถึงปฏิสัมพันธ์กับชั้นหินโรยทาง ผ่านการใช้ Discrete element method (DEM) สำหรับการจำลองสภาพของหินโรยทางรถไฟและการทดสอบ Single sleeper push test (SSPT) ในงานวิจัยนี้จึงจำลองโครงสร้างทางรถไฟแบบมีชั้นหินโรยทาง โดยใช้ Rocky DEM เป็นเครื่องมือในศึกษาการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพใต้หมอนรองรางรถไฟต่อการเคลื่อนตัวทางด้านข้างของรางรถไฟแบบเดี่ยว โดยไม่ได้มีผลของสิ่งรอบข้างที่มีอิทธิพลต่อหมอนรองราง และนำมาปรับใช้เป็นแนวทางในการศึกษาเพิ่มเติม ในหัวข้อที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องต่อไป งานวิจัยนี้จะช่วยในการวางแผนการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพของทางรถไฟแบบมีหินโรยทาง และปูพื้นฐานสำหรับการศึกษาต่อไปสำหรับการริเริ่มการใช้แผ่นรองใต้หมอนรองรางรถไฟ

This study examines the implementation of a teleworking policy with a work-from-home (WFH) scheme from a private company perspective and its implications on the Greater Jakarta’s proposed urban rail network’s carrying capacity. Using descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, a representative percentage of employees capable of working from home was determined. This figure, found to be sixty percent, was then employed in a macro transport model simulation to assess its impact on urban rail network demand. Jakarta's coastal region, characterized by dense settlements and industrial zones, faces significant flood risks due to land subsidence and rising sea levels, exacerbated by human activities and climate change. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the National Capital Integrated Coastal Development (NCICD) project, which proposes embankments along Jakarta's coast for enhanced flood resilience. Focusing on the Cengkareng Drain estuary, two-dimensional HEC-RAS simulations were employed. Although buried and mostly invisible to the traveling public, bridge-sized culverts (i.e., culverts with span around or longer than 20 ft) account for a large proportion of state-managed bridges. As per Oregon Department of Transportation inventory, there are approximately 35,000 culverts in the state highway system. Among them, 10,862 are in poor conditions and need to be analyzed for load rating purposes. The prediction and understanding of live load effects in culverts are crucial to the design, evaluation, and life-cycle maintenance of culverts. Decaffeination by microbial degradation is currently the most optimal and low-cost approach, involving only microbial cells and/or their enzymes. The bacterium was characterized using a series of biochemical tests. Positive results were obtained from carbohydrate fermentation, citrate utilization, and catalase tests, while negative results were obtained from Voges-Proskauer (VP) and indole tests. Three different caffeine concentrations of 0.25%, 0.4%, and 2% were tested and measured through Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrophotometry (GC-MS) analysis. The highest caffeine reduction (89.25%) was found when 0.25% caffeine was used in the media. Only a small amount of caffeine was reduced to 0.4% and 2%, with 34.78% …

This study determines how curing temperatures, aging condition, and hydrated lime contents affect the unconfined compressive strength (UCS), modulus of elasticity, and workability of low-alkaline concrete. Samples were prepared in two different groups to determine the optimum hydrated lime content and aging conditions to assess the mutual effect of NaOH molarity and curing temperature, that is, 70 °C for 48 h or room temperature, on samples with and without lime. This study investigates the optimization of building envelopes and roof shading systems of existing buildings in Indonesia to realize notable energy savings. Multiple scenarios were explored, with modifications to building envelopes and roof shading, highlighting the overall thermal transfer value as a key parameter. Using EnergyPlus simulations, the efficacy of natural ventilation in corridors and roof shading modifications was assessed in reducing energy consumption. A lack of pervious land cover has led to an accumulation of fertilizer, sediment, and waste in the river. The time-dependent rheological and early-age strength parameters of Polymer concrete (PC) were investigated. PC flow decreased, and the static yield stress and thixotropy increased as the specimen aged, while the dynamic yield stress remained unchanged. The study found that the Herschel-Bulkley model can accurately describe the PC’s rheological behavior over time. The change in cohesion strength and internal friction angle over time was observed using uniaxial unconfined compression and direct shear tests of fresh PC. This study addresses flood risk assessment in the Catalpa Creek watershed, located in northeast Mississippi, USA. Employing the Hydrological Modeling System (HEC-HMS) and the River Analysis System (HEC-RAS), integrated models were developed and calibrated, to predict flood behavior within the watershed. The study conducted flood frequency analyses for return periods ranging from 2 to 100 years and generated flood inundation maps, pinpointing flood-prone areas. Mitigation measures for flood risk management were recommended.
