Antibiotic resistance poses an escalating threat to global health, with environmental reservoirs being pivotal areas of concern, as well as opportunities for potential mitigation. Stormwater systems are an important type of environmental reservoir in the urban water cycle with a dearth of research related to impacts on antibiotic resistance. As climate change intensifies natural hazards and extreme weather events, critical infrastructure systems like power networks and pavements are increasingly vulnerable to damage. While significant progress has been made in studying individual hazards for specific systems, there remains a need for comprehensive frameworks addressing parametrized fragility for key components in critical infrastructure and their application in system risk and resilience evaluation. This dissertation investigates the failure mechanisms and fragility of power systems and pavements under extreme conditions, including winter storms, hurricanes, heatwaves, and flooding. RCA typically exhibits weak interfacial transition zones (ITZ), high porosity, and micro-cracks due to residual mortar layers, resulting in suboptimal performance when reused in structural applications. To address these challenges, this study developed a wet carbonation process using glycine acid as an inducer. Glycine acid, containing carboxyl and amino functional groups, forms stable complexes with Ca²⁺ ions in RCA, increasing calcium ion solubility and thereby accelerating carbonation. RCA samples underwent carbonation in a glycine acid solution, followed by characterization using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy to evaluate mineralogical transformations and microstructural enhancements. Urban traffic congestion at signalized intersections poses significant challenges, with queue spillback events worsening delays, fuel consumption, and environmental impacts. This study addresses the critical issue of oversaturation at the Rama 4 intersection in Bangkok, where closely spaced intersections intensify congestion, leading to prolonged queues and inefficient green phase utilization. Traditional fixed-time signal controls lack the flexibility to adapt to fluctuating traffic volumes, emphasizing the need for an innovative approach. สะพานเป็นโครงสร้างพื้นฐานที่มีความสำคัญและเป็นส่วนหลักในการคมนาคมของประเทศต่าง ๆ ทั่วโลกเป็นระยะเวลายาวนานจึงมีความเป็นไปได้ที่จะเกิดความเสียหายหรือชำรุดทรุดโทรม ระบบติดตามคุณภาพสะพานจึงถูกคิดค้นและนำมาใช้งานเพื่อตรวจสอบความผิดปกติของโครงสร้าง หนึ่งในระบบติดตามคุณภาพสะพานที่น่าสนใจคือการติดตั้งอุปกรณ์วัดมุมเอียงที่ใช้หลักการวัดมุมเอียงของโครงสร้างสะพาน โดยผู้วิจัยในอดีตได้มีการเสนอระเบียบวิธีที่ใช้ตรวจสอบและติดตามรอยร้าวที่เกิดบนโครงสร้างสะพานโดยใช้การทดสอบน้ำหนักบรรทุก ซึ่งแม้ว่าระเบียบวิธีดังกล่าวจะถูกพิสูจน์ว่าสามารถใช้งานได้ผ่านการใช้แบบจำลองไฟไนต์เอลิเมนต์ การทดสอบในห้องปฏิบัติการเพื่อประเมินและติดตั้งเพื่อประเมินสะพานจริง ๆ พบว่าเมื่อเกิดรอยร้าวขนาดเล็กระเบียบวิธีดังกล่าวจะไม่สามารถระบุตำแหน่งของรอยร้าวนั้นได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ที่สำคัญการทดสอบโดยใช้น้ำหนักบรรทุกจำเป็นต้องปิดการใช้งานสะพานชั่วคราวซึ่งใช้ทรัพยากรทั้งเวลาและค่าใช้จ่ายเพิ่มเติม ดังนั้นงานวิจัยนี้จึงมีจุดประสงค์เพื่อเสนอระเบียบวิธีใหม่สำหรับติดตามรอยร้าวบนโครงสร้างสะพานโดยวิเคราะห์จากผลตอบสนองเนื่องจากน้ำหนักของโครงสร้างสะพานเองเพื่อคำนวณค่าดัชนีรอยร้าวซึ่งถูกเสนอขึ้นในการศึกษานี้ ทั้งนี้ค่าดัชนีรอยร้าวจะคำนวณจากมุมเอียงของโครงสร้างสะพานในสภาวะตั้งต้นเทียบกับสภาวะที่สะพานเกิดการแตกร้าวโดยมีการพิจารณาความละเอียดของอุปกรณ์วัดมุมเอียงที่ใช้ติดตั้งที่แตกต่างกันที่มีอยู่ในปัจจุบัน อาศัยการจำลองรอยร้าวด้วยแบบจำลองไฟไนต์เอลิเมนต์ในงานวิจัยนี้แสดงให้เห็นว่าระเบียบวิธีดังกล่าวเมื่อใช้ร่วมกับดัชนีรอยร้าวสามารถพัฒนาระบบติดตามสภาพสะพานให้สามารถตรวจสอบรอยร้าวที่อาจเกิดขึ้นระหว่างการใช้งานได้อย่างสะดวกและมีประสิทธิภาพโดยอาศัยเพียงน้ำหนักของตัวสะพานเอง

งานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการนำวัสดุเหลือทิ้งมาพัฒนาสมบัติทางวิศวกรรมเพื่อเป็นทางเลือกในอุตสาหกรรมการก่อสร้าง นอกจากจะเป็นการลดต้นทุนการก่อสร้างและเพิ่มมูลค่าให้กับวัสดุเหลือทิ้งแล้วนั้น ยังส่งผลดีต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมด้วย ดังเช่น ดินตะกอนกว๊านพะเยา และเปลือกข้าวโพด ซึ่งจัดว่าเป็นวัสดุเหลือทิ้งและมีจำนวนมากในพื้นที่จังหวัดพะเยา การกองเก็บและการกำจัดวัสดุดังกล่าวก่อให้เกิดปัญหาทางสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างมาก งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมแรงอัดแกนเดี่ยว พฤติกรรมแรงดึงทางอ้อม และ พฤติกรรมแรงดัดของดินตะกอนกว๊านพะเยาผสมปูนซีเมนต์ที่เสริมเส้นใยข้าวโพด โดยทําการทดสอบกําลังอัดแกนเดี่ยวที่ปริมาณปูนซีเมนต์ร้อยละ 7 ปริมาณเส้นใยร้อยละ 0.5 1.0 และ 2.0 โดยน้ำหนักของดินแห้ง และความยาวเส้นใย 10 20 และ 40 มิลลิเมตร ตามลำดับ ที่อายุการบ่ม 7และ 28 วัน ผลการทดสอบพบว่าการเพิ่มเส้นใยช่วยเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมเปราะของตัวอย่างดินตะกอนกว๊านพะเยาผสมปูนซีเมนต์ ให้เป็นพฤติกรรมเหนียวและช่วยลดการสูญเสียกําลังหลังจากกําลังรับแรงสูงสุด ท้ายสุดของงานวิจัยนี้จะนำเสนออัตราส่วนและความยาวที่เหมาะสมของเส้นใยข้าวโพดสำหรับนำไปใช้ในงานวิศวกรรม

Various materials including granite powder, hydrated lime, latex, and recycled glass beads will be used in the concrete testing for this project. This thesis investigates the effectiveness of microbially-induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) using the recently introduced bioslurry treatment method via surface percolation. To simulate realistic water forcing conditions, a piston-style erosion rate testing apparatus, specifically the Florida Department of Transportation Sediment Erosion Rate Flume, was used. Initial tests conducted at a high shear stress of 42 Pa revealed that a combination of 15% bioslurry and 85% cementation solution exhibited the strongest erosion resistance when compared to other ratios between bioslurry and cementation solution. Subsequent experiments focused on separating the specimen into a "loose" part and a “surface crust,” with shear stresses …
