Despite a lack of empirical evidence to support its existence, previous literature has demonstrated that Learning Styles Theory (LST) enjoys widespread popularity in education, leading many researchers to refer to it as a “myth”. This study utilized original survey data to determine Kansas K-12 teachers’ level of predilection for LST. Kansas teachers’ responses (n=147) were analyzed in comparison to that of non-Kansas teachers (n=93) in seven independent Learning Styles Theory measures. This research study aimed to understand how successful Texas educators who grew up in poverty understood and improved the educational experience of economically disadvantaged students. This study utilized a structural ecological theory and three theories of social relationships (Social Identity, Standpoint, and Cultural Capital). This study examined the implementation of an instructional scaffolding teaching strategy in the secondary mathematics classroom. An iterative process was used to implement an initial design of instructional scaffolding, reflect on its efficacy, and adjust the design as needed. Educational leadership in public schools have struggled to service second language learners across the United States. Although support systems in urban education settings have seemed to be fully staffed, the surge of new immigrants, has posed challenges to classroom teachers. Unspoken attitudes of bias and perception of faculty members have been menacing and could have impeded equitable practice and performance of both the English language learner and the teacher. Previous research of Reeves (2002, 2004, & 2006) has inferred teachers have struggled with their attitudes toward ELLs in their mainstream classes and have indicated professional development as being essential. Specifically, high schools have had little research to indicate if progress has been made to address the issues of social justice and the effects on teacher attitudes and student performance. Inevitably, current research on secondary teacher attitudes toward ELLs in content-area subjects is important. Urban school districts have needed to hear and understand teachers’ feelings to equitably plan and employ fundamental supports of practice for teachers that can be of benefit to ELLs. Because of ongoing needs to seek further understanding of teachers attitudes toward linguistic diversity of ELLs in the mainstream classroom, a further examination of teacher attitudes within urban secondary schools, as relates to the inclusion of English Language Learners required further research. Therefore, four significant attitudinal themes were collected from teachers from the study in the form of questions. This study examines the science learning experiences across the lifespan of two groups of college students: adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a post-secondary inclusive program, and adults in a preservice secondary education teacher candidate program. Data, in the form of personal narrative science stories were collected using a paired-interview approach in which students from each group interviewed one another about their science learning across their lifespans, and recorded responses using an online form.
