The skills that culinary school graduates gain from the curriculum do not align with the culinary industry requirements for their first position. This problem, if not addressed, will lead to lower enrollment of students and a limited number of employed culinary arts graduates in California. This basic qualitative study aimed to explore California culinary school graduates’ perceptions of the education programs preparing them for their first restaurant position. The American higher education system is in a time of profound change (Levine & Van Pelt, 2021). Pressures such as shifting student demographics (Grawe, 2021), evolving technologies (Crawford, 2021; McCarthy, 2007), and increasing financial strains on institutional operating models (Marcy, 2020) are just a few of the stresses reshaping the landscape. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the experiences of Asian and Asian American women administrators’ career paths in U.S. higher education. The research fills a gap in the literature regarding the careers of Asian and Asian American women administrators. The recruitment process was completed between May 13 and July 9, 2024. Recruitment emails were sent to 25 potentially qualified participants, including a network of 17 people made up of mentors, professors, and colleagues, as well as eight professional associations and LinkedIn. This qualitative study explored the experiences of African American educational leaders in navigating racial microaggressions in the workplace, specifically within K-12 educational settings. Using Taxonomy of Racial Microaggressions and emotion regulation theory as frameworks, this research examines how these leaders manage, respond to, and cope with various forms of racial bias while maintaining their professional identities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with African American leaders, and thematic analysis was used to identify recurring patterns of microaggressions and corresponding emotion regulation strategies. Key findings reveal that participants frequently encounter microaggressions such as assumption of inferiority, criminality, and second-class citizenship, with …

This study aimed to measure the university reputation using the importance-performance analysis (IPA) to determine the strengths and weaknesses in the aspects of the university reputation from the students' point of view and to identify the priorities for improvement based on the priority index. Data were drawn from a sample of 354 students through a questionnaire.
