Mental health professionals are mandated to behave in an ethical manner defined by their codes of ethics. These codes typically understand religion and spirituality a multiculturalism issue. This article explores Oral Roberts’ legacy of racial reconciliation in the backdrop of the racial history of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Oral Roberts was a pioneer of racial integration of his meetings during the Healing Revival of the 1950s. But his racial vision came to maturity as Oral Roberts University became a center for social uplift for African Americans in the Spirit-empowered movement. Today, that legacy continues to shape Oral Roberts University as a shining example of racial diversity among Christian universities in America.

Biennial Conference: The Social Practice of Human Rights
My paper/presentation will explore the holistic understanding of human rights contained in Catholic social teaching, with a focus on how Pope Francis applies this tradition to some of the major crises of our time. Particular attention will be given to issues of economic inequality, ecological devastation, migration, violence, and the rise of neo-fascist populist movements around the world. Francis’ integrated analysis of the common roots of these problems and his proposed constructive responses will be explored and assessed. Strong emphasis will be placed upon his understanding of the critical role to be played by grassroots movements and widespread popular mobilization.

Zen Master Dōgen (1200-1253) is one of the most important Japanese Buddhist philosophers in medieval Japan. The first essay is a short introduction to Dōgen and the significance of his teachings in the 21st century. Reading Dōgen’s “Mountains and Rivers Sūtra,” Owen Crum and Conor Loy emphasize the importance of recognizing Buddha-nature in every living being as a way to overcome environmental destruction. Both authors understand that Dōgen’s teachings of universal Buddha-nature challenge anthropocentric views on nature and allow people in the twenty-first century to ask pressing ethical and religious questions in new and compelling ways.

Hanuman (2005) distinguished itself from the previous films by mimicking and adopting an animation style that was adopted in Western superhero movies and cartoons.
