This study is an effort to clarify the discipline needed in valuing the recitation of a hadith. Prime focus is directed specially towards those hadiths of which their trustworthiness has been repudiated and whose origin traceable to the Prophet p.b.u.h has been rejected. For several centuries, Japanese scholars have argued that their nation’s culture—including its language, religion and ways of thinking—is somehow unique. The darker side of this rhetoric, sometimes known by the English term “Japanism” (nihon-jinron), played no small role in the nationalist fervor of the late-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. While much of the so-called “ideology of Japanese uniqueness” can be dismissed, in terms of the Japanese approach to “religion,” there may be something to it. This study seeks to answer a fundamental question facing missiologists and historians of Mormonism: given their sustained preoccupation with converting others to Mormonism and their thriving tradition of missionary work, how do Mormons conceive of their mission? The study attempts to analyse the methods of interpretation and understanding of the verses between the two renowned Islamic scholars, Fakhr al-Din al-Razi (544H/601H-1149M/1210M) and Ibn Taymiyyah al-Harrani (661H- 728H/1263M-1328M) based on their respective works Tafsir Mafatih al- Ghayb and al-Tafsir al-Kabir.
