The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) proposes to widen FM 48 from the town of Mobeetie Texas northward to the Wheeler/Hemphill County line. The Area of Potential Effects (APE) for the proposed FM 48 improvement project has a length of approximately 9.5 miles consists within the existing 100-foot ROW. The total area of APE is approximately 115.2 acres with no proposed new ROW or easements. The maximum vertical depth of impact will be approximately 5 feet for culvert replacements.

On March 12, 2015, TxDOT conducted an intensive archeological survey for the proposed to replacement of three bridges along SH 97 in LaSalle and McMullen Counties. The bridges are located north of the town of Fowlerton, Texas. The first bridge crosses the Frio River, the second crosses a tributary of the Mossy Slough both in LaSalle County. The proposed High School No. 4 tract consists of an approximately 65.3-hectare (161.4-acre) tract located off the southeast side of Weiss Lane between Jesse Bohls Drive to the northeast and Pflugerville Road to the southwest in eastern Pflugerville, Travis County, Texas. At the request of Land Tejas Companies, LTD., an intensive archeological survey was conducted by Pape-Dawson archeologists for the proposed Bowen Tract Residential Development project located in Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas. The archeological project area was defined as the footprint of the 111-acre (45 hectare) land tract to undergo development situated east of La Salle Avenue between the Wedgewood Golf Club and State Highway 105 (also known as Lake Conroe Parkway). As the proposed project is currently in the design phase, the maximum depth of ground disturbance has not yet been established.

On behalf of Brookfield Residential, SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) conducted an intensive cultural resources investigation of the proposed Pilot Knob Wastewater Interceptor Project in southeast Austin, Travis County, Texas. The project involves the construction of a roughly 2.1-mile-long wastewater interceptor line with an 80-foot temporary and 40-foot permanent easement, and encompasses 20.0 acres. The project has two components: the initial 1.7-mile-long wastewater interceptor and the additional 0.34- mile-long Phase 2 extension.

This report represents the culmination of fourteen years of marine archeological investigations by PBS&J (now Atkins North America, Inc.) associated with the Texas City Channel Improvement Project. Over that time span Atkins’ investigations of the site of USS Westfield (41GV151) have included numerous remote-sensing surveys using various combinations of marine magnetometer, side-scan sonar, sector-scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, and ROV; three diving investigations totaling 64 dives and over 72 hours of bottom time; and archeological salvage of Westfield resulting in the recovery of at least 8,380 artifacts. In May 2012, the City of Seguin (City) proposed to undertake street improvements, which included the replacement of water, sewer, and storm sewer lines including installation of four discharge structures replacing existing structures. This project was to be funded entirely by the City.
