The article is mainly devoted to the investigation of stylistic peculiarities of expressing inner emotions of personages in Uzbek (‘Riding a yellow Giant’) and English (‘Harry Potter and Philosopher’s stone’) novels. Initially, there is general overview of emotiveness in literal texts and some discussion about its investigation in the field of linguistics, philosophy, psychology and literature. Over the past several years, special collections libraries and archives have been more proactive in engaging in educational outreach and promoting forward-facing programs. Additionally, subject and special collections librarians have sought ways to expand their collaboration to maximize their reach and impact. The occasion of the 200th anniversary of Walt Whitman’s birth was the perfect opportunity for two librarians at Binghamton University to collaborate, promote a jewel from the Libraries’ holdings, build a stronger collection, and interact with local audiences through an exhibit and events.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein recently celebrated its two-hundredth anniversary, and its story remains vibrant in popular culture, especially in the comics medium. I’ve done a number of conference papers in the past devoted to representations of the Creature and his creator, Victor Frankenstein, in comics and comic art, but I’ve only recently begun to look at how the character of the Bride of Frankenstein has been depicted.
