This research examines the impacts of immediate emergency policies of the Corona Virus pandemic on the education process at Minya University; Egypt; along with impacts on economic labor productivity. It hypothesizes that academic performance of graduates during the pandemic declined, including impacts on employment, quality of labor, and economic productivity.The research reviews experiences of Malaysia, KSA, Kuwait, and Egypt in managing the education process during the pandemic. Ensuring security in Software-Defined Networking (SDN)-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) environments is a critical challenge due to the increasing complexity of cyber threats. This study proposes an intrusion detection system based on Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks to enhance security in SDN-IoT networks. The research methodology involves data preprocessing, feature selection, and model training using the SDN-IoT dataset. Data preprocessing includes handling missing values and applying various encoding (label, one-hot, frequency, binary) and normalization (minmax, log, robust, z-scaling) techniques to optimize feature representation. In the last decades, Steel Beams with Corrugated Webs (SBCWs), especially those with trapezoidal profiles, are extensively employed in structural applications owing to their superior strength-to-weight ratio and improved structural stability under various loading conditions. Renewable Energy Community (REC) is an emerging concept that empowers local customers to generate decentralized renewable energy. Integrating RECs into the building industry presents a promising opportunity to support the transition toward net-zero cities. However, the viability of RECs depends on regional regulatory frameworks, permitted governance structures, and very importantly, business models. Compared to pioneering European countries, Canada lacks the regulatory support needed to fully enable REC. This paper proposes and evaluates various business models for potential REC implementations under Canada's existing regulatory constraints. We evaluate two schemes of service contracting (SC) program implemented for the first time in the Philippines: gross-cost and net-cost. Using an automatic vehicle location (AVL) dataset generated using a mobile application, we examine the supply and performance of jeepney, a form of paratransit, on 20 routes during the pandemic. Ten of these routes are under gross-cost, and the other ten are under net-cost. Our evaluation suggests that gross-cost SC has resulted in more kilometer-run travelled, more arrivals at the stop, shorter headway duration, which are indicative of increased supply, compared to net-cost. This thesis examines two Manhattan neighborhoods, Battery Park City and Alphabet City, through the lens of New Urbanism—an urban planning approach developed in the 1990s. New Urbanist principles prioritize walkability, connectivity, mixed-use development, diversity, varied housing options, architectural quality, green transportation, sustainability, and accessible green spaces. While Battery Park City represents a top-down, master-planned New Urbanist neighborhood based on a 1979 plan, Alphabet City emerged from the 1811 Manhattan grid with significant community-driven design, notably through community gardens and grassroots initiatives. Cycling is increasingly recognized for its wide range economic, environmental, and health benefits as a mobility option. However, disparities in the provision and the quality of bicycle infrastructure persists. Ensuring fair access and usage of these benefits for all presents a significant challenge. As a result, establishing effective methodologies to evaluate cycling equity is critically important. This paper synthesizes research on infrastructure asset management with a focus on equity considerations in bicycle infrastructure. Este artículo se centra en Lilly Reich (1885-1947), figura clave del diseño moderno, cuya autoría ha sido eclipsada por la de su colaborador Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The Build Digital Annual Survey 2024 presents a sector-wide snapshot of digital adoption and transformation across Ireland’s construction and built environment sector. Based on 137 responses, the report shows that most participating organisations have begun their digital transformation journey, with expected benefits including improved accuracy, operational efficiency, quality, cost reduction, and faster clash resolution. The findings indicate widespread use of common digital deliverables and increasing awareness of ISO 19650, CDEs, OpenBIM, and CWMF BIM requirements. However, the report also identifies persistent challenges, including skills gaps, uneven training provision, limited digital competence, and variable implementation of BIM requirements across public and …
