The construction industry is one of the major harbingers of the economy of any industrialized nation. Its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product is undeniable. The major economic downturn that lasted from 2008 to 2011 resulted in a lot of change in the industry personnel at both the administration and labor force levels. This resulted in expediting the retirement of a generation of seasoned professionals, and creating a gap in the ranks of construction firms that is still to be completely filled. The origins of two network scheduling techniques: The Program Evaluation Review Technique (PERT); and the Critical Path Method (CPM) are examined. Prior accounts hold that each are different and were created separately. PERT, developed within the U. S. Navy’s highly classified POLARIS nuclear missile program which began in 1955. CPM, the creation of American industrial concerns E. I. du Pont de Nemours (du Pont) and Remington Rand UNIVAC. Traditional public spaces —such as public parks, streets, and public squares—have long been part of the urban landscape. In today’s congested cities, however, creating such public spaces is difficult because they require capital investment, vacant land, and ongoing maintenance. Possibly in response to these obstacles, new types of urban public spaces have emerged.

Louis-Philippe Dalembert, a Mauritian writer, published in 2019 his novel Mur Méditerranée that sheds the light on an actual issue: the migration crisis. To write this novel, the author was inspired by a real event that occurred in July 2014: the rescue story of illegal migrants by the Danish oil tanker Torm Lotte. In his novel, Louis-Philippe Dalembert portrays three women: Sembar Eritrean, Chochana the Nigerian, and Dima the Syrian; each of them flees the violence that rages in her country and throws herself into a ship that crosses the Mediterranean and leads migrants to Europe. تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى إعداد صورة عربية لمقياس الهناء النفسي (Ryff’s Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWB-42 (Ryff,1989) يتكون من (42) بندًا× 6 اختيارات، بواقع (7) بند لكل مقياس فرعي، وتمثل العبارات في المقياس مكونات الهناء النفسى الستة التي اقترحتها "رايف"(الاستقلالية، والتمكين البيئي، والنمو الشخصي، و العلاقات الإيجابية مع الآخرين ، والحياة الهادفة ، وتقبل الذات ). استخدمت في هذه الدراسة عينتين مستقلتين من طلاب جامعة الكويت إجمالي قوامها (1643) فردا بواقع (762) من الذكور و (881) من الإناث، وذلك لحساب الثبات والصدق ولفحص الفروق بين الجنسين . تم تطبيق مقياس الهناء النفسي PWB-42، و قائمة "أوكسفورد" للسعادة (OHI)، ومقياس الرضا عن …

There is a significant amount of waste generated during construction and demolition (C&D) activities, but few data to understand the sources, age, spatial origin, and its fate following entry into the waste management system. With few public records that track C&D waste flows, we turned to industry and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) to quantify C&D data and meta-data using material flow analysis (MFA). LEED databases are not normally used to build life cycle inventories or material flow accounts because they do not house sufficiently detailed data.
