Many urban places contain subtle details that can unintentionally deter pedestrian activity. These details can be assessed through six themes: safety, comfort, pedestrian infrastructure, aesthetics, proximity, and ease of navigation. Adults over age 65 may have more concerns about walking in urban settings than people in other age groups. This study identifies urban design elements that encourage and discourage walking among older adults and makes recommendations for design improvements. Study participants (n= 67) completed an online survey about walking behaviors, perceptions of health and community, and perceptions of seven unidentified scenes of pedestrian environments in Lexington, Kentucky. This chapter examines Irish architecture during the Celtic Tiger boom years, the crash, and the eventual economic recovery. Using representations of Irish architecture such as the book, Full Irish, and the Architecture Biennale, FREESPACE, it concentrates on the architectural practices (such as Grafton Architects and O’Donnell + Tuomey) that were the focus of international interest during this period but places their work in the midst of the country’s broader spatial production. Using imagery of ghost estates, it also examines the emergence of a distinct post-Celtic Tiger mode of architecture evident in projects such as Commonage.

การออกแบบการส่องสว่างภายในห้องพักผู้ป่วยใน (in-patient room) มีความสำคัญ เนื่องจากต้องการค่าความส่องสว่างหลายระดับเพื่อรองรับกิจกรรมทางการแพทย์และกิจกรรมอื่น ๆ จากการสำรวจพบว่าปัจจุบันห้องพักผู้ป่วยในหลายแห่งมีระดับความส่องสว่างและการติดตั้งดวงโคมไม่ตอบสนองต่อกิจกรรม ซึ่งในประเทศไทยไม่มีกฎหมายเกี่ยวกับระดับการส่องสว่างห้องพักผู้ป่วยในและสถานพยาบาล งานวิจัยนี้จึงต้องการเสนอแนวทางการออกแบบการส่องสว่างที่ให้ค่าความส่องสว่างในกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ผ่านเกณฑ์ต่างประเทศที่เป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับสากล ได้แก่ เกณฑ์ IESNA จากสหรัฐอเมริกา SLL และ EN 12464-1 จากยุโรป โดยใช้ห้องพักผู้ป่วยในของอาคารภูมิสิริมังคลานุสรณ์ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทยเป็นกรณีศึกษา จำลองการส่องสว่างโดยใช้แสงประดิษฐ์ในห้องพักผู้ป่วยใน 4 เตียงที่ความสูงระดับต่าง ๆ ด้วยโปรแกรม DIALux evo 9.1 ทำการเปลี่ยนคุณสมบัติดวงโคมและการจัดวางดวงโคมของดวงโคมเหนือเตียงตรวจรักษาซึ่งให้แสงเป็นหลัก โดยมี 2 แนวทางคือ 1.) การเปลี่ยนดวงโคมแทนที่ดวงโคมเดิมให้มีปริมาณแสงเพิ่มขึ้นจากดวงโคมเดิมใน 3 ระดับ เพื่อให้ผ่านเกณฑ์ IESNA ที่ระบุค่าความส่องสว่างต่ำกว่าเกณฑ์จากยุโรป 2.) การเปลี่ยนดวงโคมแทนที่ดวงโคมเดิมและเพิ่มดวงโคมเพื่อให้มีแสงเพิ่มขึ้น เพื่อให้ผ่านเกณฑ์ SLL และ EN 12464-1 ที่ระบุค่าความส่องสว่างสูงกว่า โดยมีการเพิ่มดวงโคม 2 แบบ คือ เพิ่มดวงโคมชนิดเดียวกับดวงโคมแทนที่ดวงโคมเดิมติดตั้งต่อกันบริเวณเหนือเตียงตรงกลางและการติดตั้งดวงโคมยาวขนาบข้างดวงโคมแทนที่ดวงโคมเดิม ซึ่งมีปริมาณแสงเพิ่มขึ้นและมุมแสงแคบลง 3 ระดับ เมื่อทำการออกแบบปรับปรุงการส่องสว่างโดยการเปลี่ยนดวงโคมที่มีปริมาณแสงต่างกันเพียงอย่างเดียวสามารถทำให้ค่าความส่องสว่างของห้องพักผู้ป่วยในกรณีศึกษาและห้องที่มีความสูงต่าง ๆ มีค่าความส่องสว่างผ่านเกณฑ์ IESNA ที่ระบุค่าความส่องสว่างต่ำ และเมื่อติดตั้งดวงโคมเพิ่มสามารถผ่านเกณฑ์ SLL และ EN 12464-1 ที่ระบุค่าความส่องสว่างสูงกว่าได้ แต่ใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้าสูงกว่าเพื่อให้ได้แสงมากขึ้นตามไปด้วย โดยทั้งสองแนวทางสามารถผ่านเกณฑ์กำลังไฟฟ้าส่องสว่างสูงสุด (LPD) ตามกฎกระทรวงการออกแบบอาคารเพื่อการอนุรักษ์พลังงาน (2563) และเกณฑ์ ASHRAE 90.1 (2010) จากการวัดทั้งอาคารได้ทั้งหมด สำหรับการนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ตามความสูงของห้องระหว่าง 2.40-3.60 เมตร และควรคำนึงถึงค่าสัมประสิทธิ์การสะท้อนแสงของพื้นผิวห้องด้วย

The purpose of this study is to examine the experience second year, live on students study habits in outside academic spaces during a pandemic from 2020-2021 academic year. Through gathered testimonies of residents it was found students value their communities, appreciate localized spaces for collaboration, and acknowledged various influences that can enhance or inhibit their ability to study. Additionally, they shared the impact COVID-19 had on their personal lives, academics, and how they interacted with others. This paper examines the modernization of Thai architecture through the establishment of Thailand’s first architecture school, its curriculum, its architecture, and the pivotal role of the first generation of Thai architecture professors, who had been educated in England and France. It demonstrates how the establishment of the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, stemmed from the Siamese government’s growing nationalism that aimed to end foreign domination in both Siam’s construction industry and international diplomacy. This study aims to explore ways in which contemporary vernacular houses can be created to be responsive to environmental, socio-cultural, and economic conditions. Within the selected three provinces of Chachoengsao, Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok, our goal was to propose possible prototypes for contemporary vernacular houses that respond to current requirements while still sustaining their regional characteristics. Current problems and changing housing demands were studied along with input from local people. From field surveys and focus groups, the research found that neither “traditional” nor “modern” solutions will suffice, so the prototypes need to strike a balance between these models. The noon break or lunch hour in Bangkok’s central business district (CBD) is when pedestrians wander around for various activities and purposes, in addition to having a meal, within a limited time frame. Using an up-to-date panel dataset that covers 88 countries over a 38-year period (1991–2018), this paper revisits the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) to measure environmental degradation (CO2, methane, nitrous Oxide, PM 2.5, HFC, PFC and SF6) in relation to GDP per capita. This study confirms the inverted-U relation for CO2 emissions, with the estimated turning point at $13,233, but also identifies a U relation in the case of PM 2.5. Furthermore, in a regional analysis of both CO2 and PM 2.5, with special reference to the MENA region, it finds gaps between actual CO2 emissions and their fitted values. We …
