The prevalence rate for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is between 0.8% to 2%. Many of these individuals experience scrupulosity or religious obsessive-compulsive disorder. Although scrupulosity is a salient theme for those who suffer from OCD, there is limited amount of research on scrupulosity across cultures. Research is particularly limited in relation to individuals from Latin American countries, including Mexico. Anecdotal reports suggest the use of medical marijuana as a pain management therapy could be an alternative to opioids and other medications which have long term consequences. The current study evaluated the ability of 20 younger and 20 older adults to discriminate shapes depicted by Glass patterns. On any given trial, observers identified a particular pattern as either possessing a radial or concentric organization. Detecting a shape defined by a Glass pattern requires the successful detection of the orientations of its constituent local dipoles. In addition, long-range processes are needed to integrate the spatially separated dipoles into perceivable contours that have a particular (e.g., radial or concentric) organization. Additionally, Jennings and Greenberg (2009) demonstrated the importance of teachers’ social and emotional competence for promoting well-being and academic success in classrooms. We believe that mere thought and self-monitoring may play a role in the thought processes that underscore hiring. We hypothesized that more thought would lead to a greater degree of attitude polarization and that this relationship will be mediated by belief confidence and belief consistency. We hypothesized that normative information would moderate the effects of thought on polarization for high self-monitors. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประสบการณ์ของนักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาที่มีประสบการณ์การทำงานและฝึกสติมานานกว่า 5 ปี โดยใช้ระเบียบวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพแบบสร้างทฤษฏีจากข้อมูล ผู้ให้ข้อมูลคือ นักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาที่มีประสบการณ์ทั้งเชิงวิชาชีพและการฝึกสติมาไม่ต่ำกว่า 5 ปี และมีฐานทฤษฏีเชิงจิตวิทยาที่หลากหลาย จำนวน 9 ราย เป็นชาวไทย 5 คน และชาวอเมริกัน 1 คนที่ทำงานในประเทศไทย ชาวไทยที่ทำงานในประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ 1 คน และชาวอเมริกันที่ทำงานอยู่ในประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา 2 คน เก็บข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้างและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการวิจัยแบบสร้างทฤษฏีจากข้อมูล ผลการวิจัย พบว่า ทฤษฏีฐานรากให้ภาพ 5 ประเด็นสำคัญ ได้แก่ (1) ที่มาของการฝึกสติ คือ สาเหตุของความสนใจที่จะฝึกสติ (2) วิธีการฝึกสติ เป็นวิธีการฝึกสติที่นักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาใช้ในการฝึกสติ คือ การฝึกในรูปแบบ การฝึกในชีวิตประจำวัน และ การมีคำสอนเป็นหลักในการฝึก (3) ประสบการณ์การฝึกสติกับตัวเองของนักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษา คือ สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นกับตัวนักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาหลังจากฝึกสติไปแล้วอย่างสม่ำเสมอ ได้แก่ เกิดความตระหนักรู้ ประโยชน์ของความตระหนักรู้จากการฝึกสติในชีวิตส่วนตัว เกิดความคิดนำการฝึกสติมาใช้ในชั่วโมงการปรึกษา วิธีการใช้สติให้เกิดความตระหนักรู้ในชั่วโมงการปรึกษา และ ประโยชน์ของความตระหนักรู้จากการฝึกสติในวิชาชีพ (4) วิธีใช้การฝึกสติเป็นเครื่องมือในกระบวนการการปรึกษาเชิงจิตวิทยา เพื่อให้ผู้รับบริการเกิดประสบการณ์การฝึกสติและเกิดความตระหนักรู้ และ (5) ผลที่เกิดขึ้น จากการใช้การฝึกสติเป็นเครื่องมือในกระบวนการการปรึกษาเชิงจิตวิทยา ทฤษฏีอธิบายความสัมพันธ์ของทั้ง 5 ประเด็นเข้าด้วยกัน โดยเริ่มจากที่มาของการฝึกสติพาให้นักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาไปฝึกสติและเกิดประสบการณ์การฝึกสติขึ้น แล้วนำการฝึกสติไปใช้เป็นเครื่องมือในกระบวนการการปรึกษาเชิงจิตวิทยากับตนเองและผู้รับบริการ จนถึงผลลัพธ์ที่เกิดขึ้นจากการนำไปใช้ โดยมีประสบการณ์ของนักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาที่ฝึกสติเป็นแก่นของประเด็นสำคัญทั้งหมด ทฤษฏีฐานรากที่สร้างขึ้นเป็นองค์ความรู้เพื่อพัฒนานักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาด้วยการฝึกสติและในการเรียนการสอนจิตวิทยาการปรึกษา โดยเน้นให้ผู้เรียนเกิดความเข้าใจในตนเองผ่านการฝึกสติพัฒนาทักษะ และนำเทคนิคที่ได้จากประสบการณ์การฝึกสตินั้นไปทำงานกับผู้รับบริการต่อไป

การวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประสบการณ์ทางจิตใจเกี่ยวกับการมีส่วนร่วมในการปรึกษาเชิงจิตวิทยาของผู้รับบริการ ด้วยระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพแนวปรากฏการณ์วิทยาเชิงตีความ โดยเก็บข้อมูลด้วยวิธีการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกแบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง ผู้เข้าร่วมวิจัยคือผู้ที่เคยมีประสบการณ์การเข้ารับบริการปรึกษาเชิงจิตวิทยารายบุคคลแบบเจอตัวและเกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางบวกจากประสบการณ์การเข้ารับบริการ จำนวน 6 ราย โดยมีอายุระหว่าง 26-37 ปี ผลการวิจัยสามารถแบ่งได้ 3 ประเด็นหลัก ได้แก่ 1) ความมุ่งมั่นที่จะเข้าสู่การปรึกษาเชิงจิตวิทยา ประกอบด้วย ความไม่สามารถจัดการปัญหาด้วยตนเอง ความเชื่อมั่นในการปรึกษาเชิงจิตวิทยา (การสนับสนุนจากคนรอบข้าง ทัศนคติทางบวกต่อการขอความช่วยเหลือจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญ และความเหมาะสมของนักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษา) และความพร้อมเปิดเผยตนเอง 2) การถ่ายทอดประสบการณ์ภายในได้อย่างเต็มที่ ประกอบด้วย ความไว้วางใจว่าความลับจะไม่ถูกเปิดเผย ความใกล้ชิดทางใจ การได้รับการยอมรับ และขอบเขตสัมพันธภาพที่เหมาะสม และ 3) การทำงานเพื่อการเปลี่ยนแปลง ประกอบด้วย การคิดพิจารณาปัญหาร่วมกับนักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษา ความรับผิดชอบในการเปลี่ยนตนเอง และการลองเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมในชีวิตประจำวัน โดยผู้วิจัยได้อภิปรายผลการวิจัยเกี่ยวกับประเด็นดังกล่าว การวิจัยนี้ช่วยให้เกิดความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับประสบการณ์ทางจิตใจเกี่ยวกับการมีส่วนร่วมในการปรึกษาเชิงจิตวิทยาของผู้รับบริการเพิ่มขึ้น โดยผู้รับบริการสามารถนำผลการวิจัยมาพัฒนาการมีส่วนร่วมของตน ในขณะที่นักจิตวิทยาการปรึกษาสามารถนำผลการวิจัยมาพัฒนาการให้บริการที่ส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้รับบริการ

Background: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms are common in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) survivors. Brief screening instruments are needed for clinical and research purposes. We evaluated internal consistency, external construct, and criterion validity of the Impact of Event Scale-6 (IES-6; 6 items) compared to the original Impact of Event Scale—Revised (IES-R; 22 items) and to the Clinician Administered PTSD Scale (CAPS) reference standard evaluation in ARDS survivors.

Methods: This study is a secondary analysis from two independent multi-site, prospective studies of ARDS survivors. Measures of internal consistency, and external construct and criterion validity were evaluated.

Objective: To identify the key mechanisms that clinicians perceive improve care in the intensive care unit (ICU), as a result of their involvement in post-ICU programs.

Methods: Qualitative inquiry via focus groups and interviews with members of the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s THRIVE collaborative sites (follow-up clinics and peer support). Framework analysis was used to synthesize and inter‑ pret the data.

Increased fMRI food cue reactivity in obesity, i.e. higher responses to high- vs. low-calorie food images, is a promising marker of the dysregulated brain reward system underlying enhanced susceptibility to obesogenic environmental cues. Recently, it has also been shown that weight loss interventions might affect fMRI food cue reactivity and that there is a close association between the alteration of cue reactivity and the outcome of the intervention. Paid work forms a pattern of occupational engagement that shifts during both unemployment and retirement. Similar to unemployment, the occupational disruption associated with involuntary retirement has been linked to poorer physical and mental health outcomes. To better understand the health impact of work transitions during the pre- and post-retirement years, 24 retired individuals with late-career unemployment were interviewed at the Huntsman World Senior Games in October 2016. Despite the severe and often costly consequences associated with severe weather instances, there is a continuing problem with noncompliance to weather warnings. This issue is pervasive, and research has shown a number of factors that are related to weather response (Joslyn & LeClerc, 2013). Further, individuals of a low socioeconomic status (SES) are often disproportionately impacted by severe weather instances, such as hurricanes (Elliot & Pais, 2006). Current research on stars has not addressed who a star is or how stars are different from other good employees. The effect of masker spatial variability and masker fringe on the perception of a brief tone in noise was investigated in a detection task. Simpson (2011) found large effects of spatial variability (randomizing masker locations from trial to trial) in a masked localization experiment, as well as two effects of masker fringe (masking noise before the onset of the target): 1) cuing the masker location (spatial cuing effect) and 2) temporally separating the onset of the masker and the onset of the target (onset effect). Sexual minority women demonstrate higher rates of Alcohol Use Disorder, or AUD, compared to their heterosexual counterparts. Factors that potentially impact how likely a sexual minority woman is to develop an AUD during her lifetime has received limited attention in existing research. These include sexual minority stress, stress and cognitive appraisal, and hardiness theories.
