The collection primarily consists of video recordings, television scripts, and interview transcripts of Dr. Duke’s popular nationally and internationally syndicated television programs, “Dr. Red Duke’s Health Reports”, “Body Watch”, and “Life is Difficult” from 1987-1998. These materials illustrate his valuable contributions as a television host, engaging and educating both the public and the medical community through live medical consultations, surgical procedures, and international teleconferences. The Ferid Murad, MD papers consists of fifiteen handwritten notebooks documenting Dr. Ferid Murad's research. The notebooks include research data presented in tables and charts, as well as Dr. Murad's notes. The notebooks span the years 1959-1970. In addition, the collection includes a small number of printed materials from organizations of which Dr. Murad was a part. Notably, there are manuals from his internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, dating around 1965. See more at MS 106.

The data file was created as part of the IMLS-funded project, PROTECCT-GLAM: Risk of The Environment’s Changing Climate Threats for Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums in an effort to gather the identities and georeferences of all galleries, libraries, archives, and museums located within the United States.

The data file includes 22,388 archives, 21,189 libraries, and 29,781 museums.

Within the Digital Preservation Community there are many references to policies on file formats, acceptable file formats, preservation policies and strategies, risk matrices, and action plans. All have the intention of defining and describing file formats and guiding decisions on which formats to preserve how, and when. My team and I originally created a File Format Action Plan, which was later migrated from OneNote to Confluence and then included more strategic plans for hundreds of file formats. McGovern, MD Collection of Texas Historical Medical Documents includes historical deeds, medical records, bills, and receipts from the pre-Republic era to the beginning of the 20th century. 117 Texas medical personnel, primarily physicians, were the creators of these 146 digitized documents. The documents are listed alphabetically by the last name of the primary medical person associated with the item. The city and county shown for each individual are the Texas area where they lived the longest, were most active in their profession, or where the document originated. In the summer of 2019, UNMC’s McGoogan Health Sciences Library closed for renovation. At the same time, new construction of the Wigton Heritage Center, a museum dedicated to the history of UNMC and the health sciences in Nebraska, began. The team worked with an outside design firm on all the typical exhibition creation needs and then along came a pandemic, and a few other “glitches” along the way. In 2021, Phase 1a opened, and Phases 1b and 2 followed in 2022-2023. The Sidney Schnur, MD papers document his work as a cardiologist and clinical professor at Baylor College of Medicine. The papers include materials related to St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, and a variety of professional organizations. Foremost among these are a number of records relating to the Harris County Medical Society around the time of his presidency in 1972. In this presentation, we describe the current web archiving program at the University of Kentucky Libraries; provide an overview of the "Wildcat Histories" activist student organization social media preservation project, funded by Project STAND; discuss the technical aspects of the "Wildcat Histories" project; and the project's current status and lessons learned.

On Being Seen, On Being Legible, On Being: A Black, Agender Perspective On A Career In Libraries, Adrian Williams

This ethnographic essay explores the author’s journey in understanding, contending with, and building a career in academic libraries that is affirming to their Black and agender identity. The essay discusses the hypervisibility of the author’s race in libraries, in contrast to the invisibility of their transness, and how that contrast has affected how they navigate their work as a pre-tenure librarian.

The papers mostly correspond to Decker's stint at the NIH, 1965-1990. However some date as far back as 1931 and as late as 1992. See more at MS 088.

Analog-based archival theory and practice is still relevant, but born-digital formats make acquisition, appraisal, resource allocation, collection management, and external relationships much more challenging. The voices of activist student leaders and organizations are crucial to preserve, whether it be in a formal archives or as part of an archiving process undertaken by individuals and groups to preserve their legacies. Increasingly, these voices are found in social media and other online and web platforms that are difficult to preserve. Information was sought on the level of collaboration between academic libraries and known key players championing the prevention and control of COVID-19, the activities carried out in compliance with set protocols, information services offered, and the challenges faced. Results showed moderate level of collaboration and very limited direct synergistic interaction with public health groups, while they provided patrons with an avenue to source updates from library websites. There was high compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines; however, there was no specialized COVID-19 information service desk for patrons' inquiries. This study aims to find out more about Google Forms in more detail, starting from the definition of Google Forms, the features available on Google Forms, the benefits of Google Forms, and the implementation of Google Forms as an input medium for archival data. Working with Digital Initiatives, digital humanities and history faculty members, the Metadata Librarian at the University of Central Florida Libraries has added Linked Open Data (LOD) to Ex Libris’ Alma for the PRINT Migration Network: Pemberton Correspondence Collection. Wikidata entries on people and places in this collection are created and their Uris are linked to the cataloging records. Meanwhile, Library of Congress (LC) linked open data vocabularies, such as LC Subject Headings, LC Name entities, FAST headings and genre headings are also added to the records. GeoNames are incorporated into the University Libraries’ Institutional Repository records and are under consideration …
