This study aims to obtain secondary metabolites that have antibacterial activity from bacteria endophytic of ascidian Pycnoclavella diminuta collected from the coast of Bitung, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The research was started with screening antibacterial activity of six bacteria isolated from P. diminuta. The active bacteria were selected for identification using standard biological molecular method and further fermentation to produce secondary metabolites. The isolation of secondary metabolites was conducted by various chromatography method and then selected fraction was based on the antibacterial activity from bioautography results. Objective: To examine rates of inpatient rehabilitation (IR) use in a nationwide amputee and determine factors associated with receiving rehabilitation services during acute admission. Methods: This research is a retrospective observational study. We sampled data from a nationally representative sample of 1,000,000 enrollees of the single-payer government-based National Health Insurance (NHI) program in Taiwan from 1996 to 2013. Claims data for rehabilitation during index admission after amputation were analyzed, and factors associated with IR use were identified. The Chronic Kidney Disease in Children Study, a prospective cohort study with data collected from 2003 to 2018, provided the first opportunity to characterize the incidence of renal replacement therapy (RRT) initiation over the life course of pediatric kidney diseases. In the current analysis, parametric generalized gamma models were fitted and extrapolated for RRT overall and by specific treatment modality (dialysis or preemptive kidney transplant). This ultimate goal in mind, this study explores the feasibility of extrusion-based fused deposition modeling (FDM) to 3D print oral tablets with tunable design to control drug release profile. Tablets are printed using poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) loaded with model drugs: acetaminophen and caffeine. Hot melt extrusion (HME) is used to fabricate PVA filaments loaded with acetaminophen and caffeine. Introduction. Epidermal cysts are common benign cutaneous cysts. An epidermal cyst may be classified as a giant epidermal cyst if it exceeds 5 cm. Giant epidermal cysts with a diameter of 5 cm or more are rare but have been reported. The epidermal cyst rarely discloses malignancy. BACKGROUND: The course of Alzheimer's disease (AD) includes a 10-20-year preclinical period with progressive accumulation of amyloid β (Aβ) plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in the absence of symptomatic cognitive or functional decline. The duration of this preclinical stage in part depends on the rate of pathologic progression, which is offset by compensatory mechanisms, referred to as cognitive reserve (CR). Introduction. Ligation in upper location and stripping of the varicose veins, enfacing high incidence of failure, recanalization. Endovascular surgery is a modality used to treat limb varicose. However, the recanalization following the procedure was never evaluated.

Method. We ran a cohort study on subjects with reflux of the great saphenous vein treated by RFA. Following the RFA procedure, the evaluation proceeded using ultrasound within the first three weeks.

The factors that contribute towards an individual seeking help from a counsellor or psychotherapist for a mental, nervous or emotional problem are explored in this study. A multivariate logistic regression is applied to analyse data from the 2006 National Psychological Wellbeing and Distress Survey. Individuals living in rural areas and in towns with populations of between 5,000 and 10,000 people are found to be less likely to seek counselling, relative to individuals living in Dublin City. Respondents earning the lowest income were less likely to enter therapy compared with respondents earning the highest, while having private health insurance increased the …
