Form-Function Relationships In The Development Of Lds Church Architecture, Ebbie Lavar Davis
Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the functions: ordinances, meetings, programs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the development of the physical plant. The Existing Space In Nebraska Multistory Square Farm Houses, Jerre Lewis Withrow, Florence Mckinney
Historical Research Bulletins of the Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station
The present study was made by the University of Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station to determine the extent of similarity in the plans of one particular style of house, the square house of more than one story. Patterns of remodeling will be developed if the similarity of existing houses justifies such a project. The two story square house was chosen for study because it is one of the predominant old style houses still in existence throughout the North Central Region.

Yale University Library Gazette Special Issue On The Sterling Memorial Library, Volume V, Number 4 (April 1931), Yale University Library
Publications on Yale History
The essence of a library is the bookstack, tier upon tier of self-supporting shelves with long slits of windows lighting narrow aisles. In the evolution of the modern library, it has become almost a matter of course to treat this structure as something to be subordinated in the exterior design. Not infrequently it becomes the rear facade, obscured behind a screen of monumental rooms. In the design of the Sterling Memorial Library, one of the first principles was the placing of the stack in the most accessible and important position on the site and its direct expression as the dominating …
