Commencing with the industrial revolution these materially developed cultures see most of their populus moving from the countryside to the city in search of work and better lives. The clients are looking to redesign their space with an elegant, contemporary, and sophisticated feel. The design must be both practical and aesthetically pleasing. They are particularly attracted to the "Parisian Style." Particularly, 19th- and early-20th-century architectural details were combined with contemporary elements. The entire design utilizes a clean and delicate colour palette, where simple lines and intricate details are combined.

The American home is a site of concentrated resource consumption, waste production, and greenhouse gas emission.
