การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย (ททท.) เป็นหน่วยงานรัฐวิสาหกิจซึ่งมีหน้าที่ในการประชาสัมพันธ์และส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวไทย ททท. มีสำนักงานสาขาที่ตั้งอยู่ในเขตสหภาพยุโรป รวมทั้งมีสำนักงานใหญ่และสำนักงานภูมิภาคหลายสำนักงานที่ตั้งอยู่ในประเทศไทยและมีการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลในเขตของสหภาพยุโรปและในประเทศไทย ดังนั้น ททท. จึงอยู่ภายใต้บังคับที่จะต้องปฏิบัติตามกฎหมายคุ้มครองข้อมูลส่วนบุคคลของสหภาพยุโรปและของไทย แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม ททท. มีการดำเนินกิจกรรมที่มีความหลากหลายที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการประมวลผลข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล จึงก่อให้เกิดปัญหาในการปฏิบัติตามภาระหน้าที่ตามกฎหมาย ยกตัวอย่างเช่น การบ่งชี้ว่า ททท. มีสถานะเป็นผู้ควบคุมข้อมูลหรือผู้ประมวลผลข้อมูล การบ่งชี้ฐานทางกฎหมายสำหรับการประมวลผลข้อมูลในแต่ละกิจกรรม งานวิจัยนี้จึงมุ่งศึกษาประเด็นปัญหาและอุปสรรคของ ททท. ในการปฏิบัติตามข้อบังคับทั่วไปเกี่ยวกับการคุ้มครองข้อมูล หรือที่เรียกกันว่า General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) และพระราชบัญญัติคุ้มครองข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล พ.ศ. 2562 รวมทั้งมุ่งเสนอแนะวิธีการที่เหมาะสมในการบริหารจัดการปัญหาและอุปสรรคดังกล่าว เช่น การจัดทำคู่มือกำหนดแนวปฏิบัติขององค์กรในการปฏิบัติตามกฎหมาย ทั้งนี้ เพื่อเป็นการลดความเสี่ยงที่ ททท. จะมีความรับผิดที่เกิดขึ้นจากการไม่ปฏิบัติตามกฎหมาย อันจะส่งผลเสียต่อชื่อเสียงของ ททท. และประเทศไทยต่อไป

"The current study adds to the literature on prison foodways and media studies by exploring the role of prison food on the show Orange is the New Black (OITNB). Specifically, this project aimed to better understand the nature of televised incarceration experiences through the way in which incarcerated characters interacted with food in the scenes. Through an analysis of 601 food-related scenes in OITNB, findings suggest: 1) food is a vehicle for additional layers of institutional control of captive bodies, 2) food plays myriad non-food roles such as medicine, a transactional medium, a vehicle for contraband, and even sexual pleasure, …

"For previously incarcerated persons, affordable and safe housing options are scarce. Barriers to securing housing include federal mandates (i.e., eligibility requirements) as well as local rules and regulations (i.e., zoning and ordinances). When housing is available, disclosing criminal history on applications impacts individuals’ chances to rent (Philips & Spencer, 2013). A lack of a consistent rental history, no personal and/or employment references, and securing capital to cover security deposits are added challenges. "This study proposes to investigate how public views on the wrongful conviction issue are connected with the perceived need for criminal justice reform and whether the professional experience in law enforcement influences these perceptions. This study employs a qualitative research design, deriving its conclusions from the comparative analysis of the survey responses concerning the issue of wrongful convictions and the criminal justice system collected from 45 law enforcement professionals and 35 individuals without such experience. "General strain theory posits that individuals commit crimes when they experience negative emotions following various sources of strain. One such source of strain is poverty. In this study, researchers use focus group data and apply a general strain framework to analyze criminal offending during the Missouri Community Action Network's Poverty Simulation© (2022) at a regional comprehensive university in the Southeast region of the United States. A total of 99 undergraduate and graduate students participated in the focus groups at the end of the simulation. There is widespread consensus amongst scholars that sanctions—the deliberate withdrawal of customary trade and financial relations—do not work. Despite this perception, states are deploying sanctions at an increasing rate. This Article explains this paradox by arguing the predominant notion of sanctions’ utility employed by scholars is unduly constrained, narrowly focusing on the ability of such measures to modify the behavior of sanctioned parties while disregarding the alternative benefits this instrument can deliver. This required the Smithsonian Museum to repatriate any human remains or funerary objects associated with Native American Ancestry back to their tribes. In response to the failures of mass incarceration and its disproportionate impact on marginalized communities, Problem-Solving Courts (PSCs) have emerged as alternatives to traditional prosecution. These courts employ therapeutic-informed and rehabilitative practices aimed at addressing the root causes of criminal behavior. While widely regarded as more effective than traditional courts, PSCs have developed largely without a formal theoretical foundation. This is notable given their alignment with Sociological Jurisprudence (SJ) and Therapeutic Jurisprudence (TJ), which view the legal system as a vehicle for promoting individual and community well-being.

Problem: The shift from a focus on rehabilitation to the more punitive, “tough on crime” approach to illegal behavior in the U.S. has been enacted in no small way by policies connected to the use and abuse of drugs. The disparities between crack and powder cocaine—two chemically similar substances—have headlined this shift (Vagins and McCurdy 2006). The predominance of international criminal law as a frontline response to atrocity crimes prioritizes the countering of impunity as an overarching goal. A corresponding “anti-impunity norm” identifies the legal punishment of individual perpetrators as a core requirement in legal responses to atrocities. This anti-impunity norm – the requirement to prosecute and punish – is also a legal obligation for state parties to the International Criminal Court. But the anti-impunity norm equates impunity’s opposite – accountability – with the imposition of legal punishment. There are certain rights that are explicitly enumerated in the Constitution, e.g., right to bear arms, right to free speech, right to a speedy and public trial. There are also rights that aren’t specifically written out but are nevertheless enjoyed by people nationwide. Rights that aren’t explicitly mentioned in the Constitution, but which are fundamental to are called the unenumerated rights. Unenumerated rights are just as important and can be derived from natural law, enumerated rights, the Ninth Amendment, precedents, judicial opinions, and substantive due process.
