In China, the differing views of sex between younger and older generations is the clearest indicator ofthe division of modern and traditional thought in societyand their resulting repercussions. The paper examineswhat specific traditional Chinese norms and values spark many social issues in China, how those traditional values are reflected in the lack of sexual education, and then analyzes how the lack of sexual education impacts those social issues.Formal interviews were conducted in Kunming with seven college students (aged 18-23) from Yunnan Finance and Economics University and other universities, while more casual conversations were held with people of other ages in …

Zika virus, which is mainly transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes, has become a major health threat in Brazil and other Latin American countries. Brazil is the country that is being most impacted with zika virus in addition to the existing mosquito-borne diseases of dengue and chikungunya. With the increase in zika virus infections, there have also been increasing numbers of infant brain abnormalities such as microcephaly associated to zika. Health care is becoming increasingly complex. This complexity requires the skills of a BSN or higher prepared nurse. The current nursing workforce does not mirror the population demographics of the United States. Because of this, underrepresented racial and ethnic groups are not likely to be cared for by a member of their diverse group. Satisfaction with care and outcomes of care are enhanced when members of underrepresented racial and ethnic groups are cared for by a member of their cultural group. In the past decade, there has been little research conducted regarding individuals’ stories about not initially being successful on the nursing licensure examination (NCLEX-RN). An unsuccessful licensure examination attempt may affect the individual personally and profoundly in ways that could influence their future success. Learning from registered nurses’ experiences may contribute to developing new strategies to promote graduate nurses’ initial success, which could help alleviate the nursing shortage. Introduction: Routine screening of adolescents for depression and suicide risk is now considered best clinical practice. However, due to a lack of training, many physicians do not engage in screening. The goal of this curriculum is to improve learner knowledge of and comfort in adolescent depression and suicide risk assessment and management. Methods: The didactic session typically takes 60-90 minutes to complete. In addition to a teaching PowerPoint that provides instruction in both the assessment and management of adolescent depression and suicide risk, the curriculum also includes a suicide assessment and management protocol.
