OBJECTIVES: To compare surface treatments (as-printed, optical polish, resin-coated, polished) of two 3D-printed occlusal device materials (KeySplint Soft and NightGuard Flex 2) cured with or without glycerin for surface roughness, translucency, and coffee staining. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Discs (2 mm thick) from two 3D-printed occlusal resins (KeySplint Soft and NightGuard Flex 2) were printed using a DLP 3D printer (SprintRay Pro 95), cleaned (ProWash S), and cured (ProCure 2) with or without glycerin. Background/Purpose: The use of mobile head CT scanning in the ICU setting has both clinical and economic advantages, particularly if able to provide image quality close or equal to fixed CT scanners.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the image quality of a new portable CT scanner, compared to a fixed CT platform.
Materials/Methods: Inpatients (n=11), age> 60 requiring head CT evaluation were enrolled and consented to obtain an additional head CT on the portable CT, following their fixed exam.

The third-generation left ventricular assist device (3G-LVAD) has significantly reduced adverse events and hospitalizations compared with previous generations. This case presents a rare 3G-LVAD rotor dislodgement malfunction, not previously documented, in a 77-year-old man. Further research behind the malfunction is warranted for early prevention and appropriate management.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to assess the comparability of mean sensitivity (MS) values obtained using the Macular Integrity Assessment (MAIA; CenterVue S.p.A. [iCare], Padova, Italy) and Microperimeter-3 (MP-3; NIDEK CO., Ltd., Gamagori, Japan) microperimetry (MP) devices.
METHODS: This cross-sectional study includes subjects with healthy eyes, eyes with diabetes mellitus without diabetic retinopathy (DM no DR), diabetic retinopathy (DR), and non-exudative age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Patients underwent testing on both MAIA and MP-3 MP devices, using a 10-2 macular grid with 68 stimuli and identical parameters. Background: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are associated with a substantial economic burden to the healthcare system despite their relatively low incidence and prevalence compared to other more common malignancies. This study aimed to evaluate trends in GIST-related hospitalizations, inpatient mortality, and the financial burden of GISTs in the United States. Methods: The National Inpatient Sample (NIS) database from 2016 to 2020 was used to identify adult hospitalizations (age > 18 years) with a primary diagnosis of GIST. The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device is FDA-approved for the treatment of bifurcation aneurysms. Despite its wide popularity, it has been under scrutiny for its association with potential aneurysm recanalization and retreatment due to device shape modification. This study aims to analyze the shape modification rate of WEB devices and identify factors associated with this phenomenon, as well as its correlation with aneurysm retreatment. BACKGROUND: Postpartum contraception is typically provided during postpartum visits. When desired and accessible, the immediate postpartum period provides an additional opportunity to increase the use of more effective contraceptive methods to potentially reduce subsequent unintended pregnancies and improve pregnancy outcomes. In New York State, recent policy changes expanded Medicaid coverage to include immediate postplacental intrauterine device insertion. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has emerged as a prominent approach for the prevention of HIV infections. While the latest advances have resulted in effective oral and injectable product options, there are still gaps in on-demand, event-driven, topical products for HIV prevention that are safe and effective. Background/Objectives: First line therapy for all manifestations of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is compression. However, patients frequently report dissatisfaction with compression stockings. Therefore, there is a need to find alternative therapeutic options that can promote compliance. Recent advances in the pharmacological therapy of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) have significantly impacted the overall survival, heart failure hospitalisations and rates of sudden cardiac death (SCD). In this context, the relevant timing of placing ICDs as primary prevention is a matter of on-going debate. This manuscript provides evidence for an updated view regarding the timing of implanting ICD in eligible patients with HFrEF receiving optimal guideline-directed medical therapy, accounting for the timing to reverse cardiac remodelling (RCR) occurrence and residual SCD risks over time. METHODS: A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted utilizing the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Six databases (PubMed, Embase, Scopus, WebOfScience, and Cochrane Library, Google Scholar) were searched yielding 1117 article titles and abstracts.
