Objective: To determine the accuracy of diagnosing oral lesions through clinical photos taken by clinical dental students (CDS). Methods: The observational analytic study was conducted on 100 CDS to evaluate 140 clinical photos of oral lesions. The gold standard was evaluated by three oral medicine specialists. Data analysis will be performed using accuracy and kappa tests. Results: The accuracy rate of lesion detection in CDS is high (88.55%) with substantial agreement (κ = 0.66). Background: Culture and histopathological examination are gold standards for diagnosing onychomycosis. However, these examinations are subject to several limitations. Dermoscopy has the potential to become a promising diagnostic tool for onychomycosis. Direct examination of potassium hydroxide (KOH) also has advantages similar to dermoscopy. Knowing the accuracy of both examinations can help clinical decision-making. Our objectives are to assess the diagnostic value of dermoscopy, KOH examination, and their combination for distal lateral subungual onychomycosis compared to culture or histopathology.

Chagas disease is a neglected tropical disease caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi that affects 6 million people worldwide. In the United States, Chagas is estimated to affect 43 000 women of reproductive age. Pregnant persons with Chagas are at risk for congenital transmission to the newborn, which accounts for nearly a quarter of all new cases. In 2022, a US multidisciplinary expert working group4 developed recommendations for increased clinician-directed screening for Chagas. Spindle cell lipoma (SCL) is a benign adipocytic tumor usually found in the subcutis of the posterior neck, upper back, and shoulder, predominantly in middle-aged males. This case report describes an atypical presentation of SCL in a 26-year-old male with a history of malignant melanoma. The patient presented with an erythematous plaque with central hyperpigmentation on the right upper arm, an uncommon location and presentation for SCL. Histopathological examination revealed an atypical myxoid spindle cell neoplasm with CD34 positivity and an overlying mildly atypical compound melanocytic nevus. BACKGROUND: Recent literature has identified that patient resilience may affect outcomes after meniscectomy. Research into psychological risk factors for poor surgical outcomes has been a focus in orthopaedic surgery.

PURPOSE/HYPOTHESIS: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between preoperative patient resilience and 2-year postoperative outcomes after arthroscopic meniscectomy. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to conduct a systematic review and network meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of specific corticosteroids, including but not limited to hydrocortisone, methylprednisolone, prednisolone, and dexamethasone, in the treatment of severe community-acquired pneumonia (SCAP). Efficacy will be assessed using specific outcomes, such as 30-day mortality and the requirement for mechanical ventilation. Safety evaluations will include adverse events like gastrointestinal bleeding and healthcare-associated infections. In this paper, we investigated the use of screen printing for the fabrication of a non-invasive wearable sensor, aimed at achieving accurate and continuous measurement of respiratory rate. The developed sensor was clinically evaluated on 15 healthy human participants, demonstrating its potential for point-of-care testing. Wearable sensors are emerging as the future of continuous healthcare monitoring by recording crucial physiological parameters that can be processed to monitor existing health conditions and predict future ones. Chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) significantly increases the risk of major adverse limb events (MALE) and major adverse cardiac events (MACE) after lower extremity revascularization (LER). This study aims to identify novel biomarkers that help to further reduce the risk of postoperative cardiovascular complications. In this prospective, nonrandomized, observational study, baseline serum levels of sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) were assessed in 147 diabetic patients scheduled for LER due to CLTI, and participants were followed for the occurrence of MALE and MACE over 12 months. OBJECTIVE: To create a clinical guideline for the diagnosis and management of urinary tract infections that addresses the gap between the evidence and recommendation strength. This study aims to develop and evaluate radiomics-based machine learning (ML) models for predicting meningioma grades using multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The study utilized the BraTS-MEN dataset's training split, including 698 patients (524 with grade 1 and 174 with grade 2-3 meningiomas). We extracted 4872 radiomic features from T1, T1 with contrast, T2, and FLAIR MRI sequences using PyRadiomics. LASSO regression reduced features to 176. This study aims to develop and evaluate a radiomics-based machine learning (ML) model to estimate overall survival (OS) for patients with GBM using pre-treatment multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
