How interested in the Presidential Commission's Report on Civil Disorders are the Lutherans?

If you base your answer on the response to a provocative conference arranged by Rev. Arnold Hilpert of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in the Chicago suburb of Broadview, Illinois, you would have to say;

"Don't keep giving us things!" was the passionate, slow, soft-spoken plea of Ralph Red Fox, a Cheyenne from Lame Deer, Montana. The Lutheran Human Relations Association notes with regret the sudden death of Dr. Franklin Clark Fry, President of the Lutheran Church in America, in June, 1968.

He was one of the great architects of the Protestant world. He appeared on the world scene as President of the United Lutheran Church in America in 1944, at the beginning of the post-war era. From 1944 until 1968 his organizing genius, his skill as a parliamentarian, and his creativeness were applied towards meeting the organizational demands of that era in such national and international bodies as the National Council of Churches, the World …

After meeting in closed assembly for a day and a half, the pastors opened sessions to white church leaders to share concerns with them. On hand also for the consultation were the presidents of the ALC, Mo. Synod, and LCA, Doctors Schiotz, Harms and Fry.

All that God has prepared for and wills to give to man may be summarized in these two words: heaven and earth.

In this connection, "heaven" is the divine, unmerited favor of God which includes the eradication of just judgment upon sin, man's restoration to sonship in and acceptance by God, and the hope of a resurrection from death to eternal life through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
